I was like, ‘what are you talking about?’”

"You have a uterus."

"What is that?"

"It's an organ in your body. Females usually have one."

"But I'm not female. That's ridiculous."

"You're clearly not intersex, because there're no male organs. So. You're female."

"I'm a man!"

"I have a fucking MRI of your fucking uterus in my hand, stop wasting our goddamn time and resources!"

Gay and bisexual men now menstruate by PriestTheyCalledHim in LGBDropTheT

[–]crodish 44 insightful - 8 fun44 insightful - 7 fun45 insightful - 8 fun -  (0 children)

The hurdles some trans men and gender-nonconforming people who menstruate say they face include the high cost of period supplies, lack of access to the products, safety concerns and inadequate medical care.

Also

Some transgender and gender-nonconforming people who menstruate, like Jones, say when the products are categorized as women’s products, they can feel alienated — and may even avoid purchasing them altogether.

So the products ARE accessible, you just don't want to fucking use them because it's not in a color you like. ffs. All the other issues are faced by women, too, none of us like our periods! Of course I'd be happier if I didn't have to bleed like a murder victim five days a month every month, or constantly worry about if I've stained myself or if people can hear my mega overnight pad crinkling inside my jeans, or have cramps, or anything of the numerous things that transmen and nb "afab" people say doesn't "justify" them having periods!

Also this fucking paragraph is just delusion or sheer uneducatedness, or both, at its best

“I didn’t believe that having periods would be a part of my lived experience,” Jones told NBC News. “I felt isolated; everything about periods was tailored to girls, yet me, a boy, was experiencing this and nothing in the world documented that.”

Wow, yeah, totally the doctors' fault for missing "he" had internal female organs, when "he" lied on his admissions paper, or didn't even think to ask if "his" being transgender would affect anything. Fucking biology doesn't play dumb. "I should have been somewhere in the middle between male and female ranges because I was taking male hormones" fuck off with that.

I really want to see it come down to "oh, okay, I guess an obvious solution would be to include AFAB / AMAB / transgender etc boxes then, to be inclusive", and then get a whole bunch of triggered snowflakes yelling that they don't want to out themselves and that they can't be stealth. You can die diagnosed as the "right" gender or live with your biological, immutable "wrong" one. Fucking choose.

God the way this article is worded, like it's such a fucking tragedy. I mean it IS, but not for the reasons the writer is trying to inflect. Lie about your health, get consequences.

They could very well both be natal women, but I hate how the prevalence of TRA is making me second-guess and doubt myself on every photo and headline now.

On that note, it's a really unpopular opinion in GC circles, but I absolutely cannot roll with the notion of, "Women are NEVER violent!" or "Women would NEVER do this!" It's the same as "am I the only one who does this / not all X" rhetoric. The percentage chance is small definitely, but it's not NIL.

[–]crodish 25 insightful - 2 fun25 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I'm kinda a fan of BW - they're "the wrong kind of trans" that they at least acknowledge their biological sex as a male, that transition doesn't change that, dysphoria is their method of coping, we don't have entirely the same experience, etc. The way they speak in their videos also seem pretty rational and well-thought out, and they do bother to do their whole research on something at least and often try to present both points of view. I've heard some stuff about them being misogynistic and maybe a couple occasions where they might have "spoken for women", but on the whole they're sensible. I don't really care about their appearance as long as they're happy with who they are.

The real TRA I have an issue with are the ones you see all over Twitter and the like, who keep insisting TWAW and that trans women rights are also women's rights because TWAW because ad infinitum. Or worse, just straight up men who do that, too. But it really riles me up whenever people go, "wHaT MaKeS JKR qUaliFieD to SpEaK aBouT TraNsPeoPle" like shut up, she's talking about HERSELF and HER rights as a woman! But the TRA always have to be the center of everything, so

I agree with him completely, but sometimes I wonder what the end goal would be. There's a whole discourse about how "good trans" don't/shouldn't get a free pass to their desired pronouns, because that's hypocritical (that they're at the end of the day still biologically male despite their presentation). In a world where trans rights are supported but do not trample over women and LGB's rights as well, what would that look like?

I know there're people here who'll disagree and insist on calling Blaire a he, and that's fine, and you (and anyone who wants to) can do that. I'm just using them/they on my own accord. As long as we know we're talking about the same person!

I'll admit I've only watched their trans-related videos to date, so I can't quite say. I'll have to go back and have another look.

Edit: I've gone back and watched maybe 4-6 videos about BW talking about their views on feminism (especially the "do not 'believe all women'" one, "feminism is pointless" and "'crashing' a feminist party" (where all they did was... walk around and respectfully interview people? no trolling or rudeness at all, although the people they interviewed kinda spoke for themselves lol) and I can't really say I disagree with what they said? Hate the clickbait titles though that are definitely there to incite anger. BW admitted that terrible shit does happen to women, and you should absolutely support the people who come to you with it. But that it's also important to hear out both sides and getting as full a picture as possible before blindly jumping to or reaching conclusions, especially if it comes to celebrity cases and people you aren't close to. Basically the same strategy they do with all their other issues. I definitely don't like hearing that "you should consider that women can be abusers and liars too", but I can't deny that stuff like that has happened, even if only very rarely. There's always extremes to every group.

Edit 2: Of course I don't take their views as them speaking on behalf of women (plus the whole not a woman = can't be a feminist thing), they're just stating their own opinion from a trans woman's perspective.

They're at least using the right lingo (no TRA speak like "clitorised bodies" rolls eyes) but one of the comments (likely male) was convincing an OP that "large clits are so hot right now" or some shit? And there's a bunch of posts where women OP are sharing that they're doing this in secret without telling their doctors. It sounds like grooming for another sick kink that women didn't need, just with body-altering medicine this time. This is really worrying.

Under using androgens/T:

The early signs of androgen side effects (overdose) in females are: frequent or increased sexual thoughts, increased libido, oily skin, increased pubic hair growth often described as “bushy”, voice change to a husky or deeper pitch, and hair growth on the upper lip. These are early warning signs which you should heed. Some tolerate these effects and just accept them. The physical effects of voice change and hair growth are permanent. Further masculinizing effects are much more severe and are more typical of what an FTM transsexual experiences.

I was disappointed about it before (I don't have many followers to begin with so the loss of 1 or 2 is always immediately noticeable) but I've consoled myself with the fact that the people unfollowing me over something like that are the same ones who'll call me a transphobic TERF without hesitation, so no big loss. Uhhhhhh sooooo genuinely not trolling here, but I've liked some yaoi and gay porn before, however my attraction to irl men is like, non-existent. I only like looking at gay porn because somehow female porn seems degrading to watch what with the heavy male gaze and objectification. Good lesbian porn is rare but preferrable. In a way I'm a full on fujoshi but I in no way want dicks near me personally? I also get turned off by men running shirtless and I've never actually physically been with a guy before. Idk. I'm irl in a lesbian relationship and find female bodies way more attractive, have always been attracted to females, etc. Maybe I'm a closeted bi or something? Something something spectrum? ._.

I don't even know what my logic for this is either lol, just that if it's two dudes on screen going at it with each other (my interest drops almost immediately if it becomes a MFM threesome), they're not in my real life and it doesn't affect me, so I can enjoy watching it because sex is sex? But I have no attraction to male bodies sexually, like I can appreciate good anatomy and muscle structure artistically, but I'd very much rather bury my face in boobs and vajay than look at a dick irl? idk man I consider myself a lesbian because I only want to be with women irl regardless of the material I consume

Edit: expounding on why I can't watch female porn - I just end up feeling bad for the woman involved. Like is she okay, she doesn't look like she's enjoying this, is she faking, is she hurt, how much of this is scripted, was she forced to do this, etc. And a lot of times the women just sound incredibly dramatic for the sake of getting dicks hard (like dirty talk, daddy talk, begging, etc). With gay porn like... you can physically see the arousal, it's rare to hear male moans, if there's objectifying shots I don't find myself identifying with it because I don't have those parts (I guess this answers my question of why women get objectified in male porn so much? And also makes me a hypocrite?)

I'm aware it also brings around the point that the men in those scenes could very well also be under coercion, aren't enjoying it, getting hard doesn't equal pleasure, etc. idk man, I don't understand it either. Just trying to sound off why my brain is like this.

Very. If I could have a "normal heterosexual lifestyle" that didn't involve being ostracized and having to pretend this side of me doesn't exist? Why would I pick hard mode. The fact that it's circled right back around to "it's a preference, you CAN choose who to be attracted to" is such a backwards landslide for LGB rights.

Nothing you said is of comfort to this poor woman, you're just shitting on the dude. Not to mention she didn't even say she was breaking it off or looking for a new relationship, so good job implying and assuming she needs or wants to be hitched to someone else at all. Excellent job especially on implying that her age is of any factor of her independence. Your misogyny is showing.

I used to think the Q stood for Questioning; somehow or other Queer became the word instead. Not offended by it myself but I can see how it would be an issue. This flips flops all the time imho, there was a time when gay, faggot, dyke, and homo were slurs as well, but now half the time I see them being used self mockingly ie "yeah i'm a big ole faggot and proud of it", "big dyke vibes", and all that shit.

Urgh, no. If they identify as non-binary they have dropped being male/female from their game and I don't want to pander to some genderfluid aroace nb snowflake every day on how they're feeling on that particular day. They can join TQ+ in sorting themselves out.

LG = he/him male/male, she/her female/female combos only. B = can be either pairings or he/him male/she/her female, it's not a choice the sex of the person they eventually fall in love with.

[–]crodish 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's basically real, uncensored, very raw footage of the surgeries of how neo vagina and neo penis are made.

Neo vagina require the penis and crotch area be cut up, de-gloved, and inverted inside out in a number of ways. I believe there's a section showing a transwoman getting "unpacked" after surgery as well where the surgeon basically keeps... pulling out wad after wad of gauze and god knows what out of the neo hole. I thought it was a video of a woman giving birth at first glance.

The other half is how neo penis is made. It involves grafting a large section of skin from the arm or thigh in order to form what is the rough equivalent of a thick, floppy meat dildo that may still have hair follicles on the entire shaft. The donor graft sites are also reduced to looking like very dry, shriveled jerky, especially the arm sites, which look closer to an eaten chicken drumstick than an arm by that point.

When people insist that bottom surgeries are in no way "multilations", I hope they've watched this.

Seconding this, this this this!

/u/please_help TW for talking about ED, talking about it because it's relevant - when I was struggling with it, the advice I got was to be "more mindful" and not constantly ruminate about the topic that was making me feel like shit, ie eating. Of course the immediate reaction is to go, "but how can I possibly NOT think about it?!" and it's hard, it's hard af, but you can DO IT

You know those times when you're watching a new movie for the first time, and it's so fucking good or funny or awesome you get totally caught up in it, and all your thoughts are just solely about the movie and the characters? Or you're playing a game or doing some physical activity or whatever and you get so caught up grinding or reaching goals that's all you focus on? Yeah, do that! Maybe it'll only work for a little while, that's fine! The point is to keep doing it little by little every day, until it becomes a part of your normal routine that you just... do it, because it's what you do!

Like... typing. Typing's easy now, but remember the first time you had to use a keyboard, and how hard it was to remember what keys were where and how to type without looking down, typing is so slow, why can't we just write? (Might not apply if you used smart phones from birth)

or when you start a new game and everything is confusing af because the interface is new, but after a week or so you know it like the back of your hand. It's the same thing. Stop indulging in stuff that makes you feel bad, and focus on things that make you feel good!

That said, it's easier said than done. Get the support you need - friends or family you feel you can talk to about this - and don't beat yourself up if you "fail", because failing is just another step towards success. You gotta grind a while to level up. It's good that you realized this early, so hang in there! Really hope you get the peace you're seeking with yourself.

Also, yeah, puberty fucking sucks. I hated my boobs when I was 16, too, and still don't really care for them, to be honest! just... ignore them best as you can. Sounds stupid, right? Life be like that doe. "They're there. It's normal, and it's okay to dislike them. Everyone has somehing they don't like about themselves, and I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying things."

Sorry for the ramble. Just stuff I wish my teenage self would have heard, if I was in your situation. Hang in there! You are perfect the way you are!

How would you suggest debating someone who insist "feminism is for ALL women, and that includes transwomen" without using "woman is an adult human female"? I'm so tired of seeing this because they already blatantly ignore the latter, so telling them "you have to be a biological woman to be a feminist / feminism is for biological females" flies over their head or else falls on deaf ears.

[–]crodish 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Speaking from the perspective of a creative-ish, who has dabbled in fandom before coughyaoicoughfictionalincestcough, it swings both ways. I understand both sides of the argument, but I have to go with "for", ultimately because it's still censorship if you try to stop fictional things from being created.

Yeah, it might have an impact on the real world. Does that mean all movies shouldn't have pets featured in them any more? Does every scene or violence need to come with a disclaimer? For the same reason it's not womens' faults for speaking out against trans agenda that causes transpeople to be murdered by men, it's not creatives' fault if people decide to act in real life with real consequences.

There's also people who create this type of work to begin with (myself included) as a form of self therapy or an outlet for expression and exploration. It doesn't mean we condone it, obviously.

I personally feel the real issue is when people can't separate the two. Fiction is not reality. It can be inspired by reality. It can come about as a result of wishing reality was different, and it might shape the future of reality. But it should never fall on the creator to be personally faulted. For example people who've committed real copycat crimes based on fictional murders.

I admit I'm not entirely convinced by my own stance. I've seen and read the arguments that aren't in favor (for example, many, MANY fandoms have an incest ship somewhere that undoubtedly ends up being one of the most popular ships) and argue that the creation of the material is what promotes and perpetuates the grooming behavior, etc. It's really a chicken and egg scenario for myself, personally. All I can say is that I can take accountability for myself that I'm not hurting anyone. If someone acts on their own accord based on what they read of my work, that's on them.

I welcome debate. I treat this issue like religion. It works for some, it doesn't for others, but in the end you're the only one it should matter for. Otherwise you end up like the religious people who keep actively trying to convert others because they believe they're saving others. For me, anyway.

I had a couple times where my head was full shaved (as a show of support for children with cancer). I'm pretty flat chested and am not conventionally attractive by female standards. I got called sir and "little boy" a lot lmao and it was always weird to see people's horrified reactions, like chill, I present so fucking masculine, there was no reason for you to assume I was female and I'm not offended since it wasn't done out of spite!

The problem I have with transwomen is that they keep trying to speak FOR women by uglyelephant121 in GenderCritical
