Well I've read your spin and heard your soapbox. That doesn't change the fact that he ran into a crowd wielding a sword.

Almost none of them would have thought to connect him to the store, or seen him coming out of the shop. To the vast majority of the crowd he just appeared to be a guy that pulled a sword out and started chopping people, and not a guy defending his store.
