aaron schwartz did an experiment a long time ago and wrote an article called 'who writes wikipedia?' in which he points out that there's an inner circle of wikipedia users, a couple hundred people, formatting and re-organizing all the articles on it, making well over half the edits on the entire site. yet the bulk of information is contributed by the masses, he concludes.

i've seen conservative wikipedia somewhere. i forgot where. but if you could provide a source that'd be great.

fucking chill already. i'm just a layperson who think about these things a lot and have some ideas about where things might go from here.

aaron became aaron because he wrote a lot of useful code, made a lot of real effort to change the world. from a very early age he excelled at both of these, and thus people made a documentary about him, the internet's own son. so when he's thirty years old, some of his programs became standards of the internet, and some of his ideas became congressional bills (SOPA, i think, look at his wikipedia page, or .gov page if you don't trust wikipedia).

if you really want to mold the world by your will, earn some serious money, write some really nice code, develop neat pieces of technology. then you have a real say in this world. because you can give your money away and become a part of an interest group or you can use your technology to gain productivity at scale.

no, i know how gpt works, along with textgan, bert, etc. used to make money doing that, offering people 'advice' (i feel bad but it's money) when it's really just generated text. if you doubt me, i can make a bot that does low-frequency chatting on saidit, and post the link to you. now, the reason you know that i'm not is because my speech varies too much to be classified as that. these language models generate text based on previous text generated in the short task, which gives the text a very connected feeling.

if you don't care, others will. many cared about aaron's cause, for example. but to me you cannot even define the term 'Zionist supremacy' to me. a political movement must have words backing it up. so furthermore i don't think whatever that's related to 'Zionist supremacy' would succeed because not much thought have been put into it.

i don't think holocaust is a huge exaggeration, in that the allies have no need to exaggerate it at its discovery in '45. the allies knew from world war 1 that it's best to heal the wounds than tear your opponent apart, as france did to germany in the inter-war period. hence the marshal plan, the democratic germany PM's kneeling, the EU, etc. under this narrative it'd be best for the allies to downplay the holocaust. i think the fifties is a moment when good miraculously won over the evil.

as to our different view on history, here's what i think: vietnam turned capitalist, russia turned capitalist, the brilliant cccp scientists failed to produce a good computer that lasted til this day, americans and the west produced the backbone of the brand new computer industry by freely roaming around, really. china turned capitalist, cuba is now opening up. on the other side look at iran, north korea. all the balkan states are capitalist now. seriously the only social democracies that is genuinely good are all in northern europe.

oftentimes history is like: i planned this, then that happened, so the entire thing becomes another, totally unexpected thing. why? because history runs in parallel. a million things are happening simultaneously and you never know which ten of them is going to determine the main course of the future.

i think the whole idea of placing modern israel where it is comes from the british divide and conquer idea. at the start of the last century, seeing that the arab world is revolutionizing, britain knows that it cannot make it stable in the future. (british upper class colonizers, not lawrence of arabia which people loved to this day) and it is very possible that stalin does not want to see a unified middle east either because he knows that america might very well control there. so he supported the state of israel too. now that's the start of the century. i did not study that much as to why america supported the state of israel over the rest of the middle east, but i would imagine it's for a very similar reason. at the surface it would look more zionist than usual because american leaders share the judeo-christian faith with israelie ones. yet this could also be explained as a fundamental flaw from the arabic society, that tribes are what people listen to and fight for, not nations. i call this a flaw because this way of organizing a people fails to compete with modern states on all sides, be it economics, military, or culture. the arab springs and other movements has deep roots in this problematic way of organizing society, that as long as a beduin is killing a howietat for revenge, the arabs will, well, not be a big people, a smart people, as lawrence of arabia famously remarked in the movie.

the state of israel still stands today partly due to its rather advanced civilization compared to its neighbours, partly due to the great sense of danger among the jewish population rising from the holocaust. but it had the chance to survive because the plans of the bigger nations to keep the arab world from unifying and stopping their rival's world domination plans.

as to the zionists dominating the world, well i do not think so. otherwise they'd at least do a better job at controlling covid. any dominating power wants a stable society. just look at how safe it is to walk the streets in authoritarian governments. because there's no mobsters there. and they certainly would not allow virus to harass their people, whom they can always profit from. so that's the picture of a world under some kidna domination. and that's not the picture of the west as you have claimed.

there are many levels to privacy, the highest being the safest setting on tor (edit on a open-sourced OS under strong code review, like freebsd). there's this site that tells you how unique your electronic fingerprint is using the browser you're currently using. in other words, vpns don't really do that much. if you want to evade from an organization, it might help. if your vpn is provided by an organization that's good at computer security, that might help too. but if you just got one of those vpns recommended by youtubers, you can't prevent the government from tracking you. for more detail, see these two links:

btw tor is made by the us navy if i recall correctly so american government is kinda an exception to tor tracking...though they might allow perfect privacy and anonymity because it's really a double-edged sword.

afaik this is done at a very high cost and is really kinda pointless. to withstand attacks with quantum power you need to have something one order of magnitude less but no lesser, which is still a great cost at traditional machines. also, a quantum computer level adversary will be able to do a million other things against you before they even consider hijacking your email.

there are a few revolutions that were good throughout history you know, like the british one or the chinese one that got rid of the emperor. but there are too few of them and afaik the british one was really the only one that has a positive and lasting benefit. and then there are independence wars and uprisings, america, india, etc. but in that case the enemy is a foreign one not a domestic one. in other words you do not have to live with them once the thing is over. so if you were to trade social change by investing in revolution per say, it's not a very good investment when you look at the historic data. or else you're looking for a different word.

this is quite dangerous trend, eric hoffer has this book called true believer describing this. i mean, revolution is really the costliest way to achieve one's political goals but blunt disagreement to the other side without any kinda tolerance to a more centrist view is driving society towards revolution. i would go so far to say that biden does a lot of right things in that regards of keeping that kinda pressure low but i think there are still very fundamental issues to the solved. oh well that's my two cents what do i know.
