It is also noteworthy that the male comments usually got very much upvoted, and if some of them would happen to make useful or insightful comments some women would also write things like "This is the most intelligent thing I have ever read" when women already made those points before (Litterally! I have really seen this over there!) I think a lot of women are still conditioned to see males as some sort of intellectual authority, and they do not want to question themselves enough about their interlalized sexism. When a male shows some sympathy for women, even if just performative, these kinds of women are gushing because they feel so validated by a man, and it seems that this is the most important thing for them. i don't mean to demean those women because they pften aren't aware of their responses, but people need to be more self- aware about those things especially in feminism (or when dealing with other conditioned behaviours and reactions like with racism). I don't get it either, as if there aren't places to discuss these topics together (we even had some men ppst on GC or women post on GCG), or as if we were soo hard on males. Libfemmy sugarcoating and coddling of male egos did NEVER actually get us anywhere. So why do some women need to associate themselves with males all the time, as if discussing and being with "only" women for once isn't enough for them? A group being mainly female always has a very special dynamic, and if enough women can make positive experiences with such groups this can be very empowering for them and their self- confidence. This helps them in participating in mixed spaced as well. As a young woman, I hardly had this chance any more in real life. I absolutely hate it when some women turn up and moan about the lack of males, as if we need their validaton and authority all the time.

Also the disparity between "Person who menstruates" and "Person who pr o d u c e s sperm doesn't sit well with me at all! It is crazy that you would need to put in so much effort (writing a fucking essay so he doesn't need to do anything by himself?) instead of just being able to give him your points and him either thinking them through on his own like a grown up, or doing some extra research if he really wants to refute your points or if he is sceptica. Actually it is okay to be sceptical of an opinion from a person you respect, but how would you react in this case? Go doing some research if the topic is important to you and then discuss it with your partner maybe or resort to name- calling. But hey, at least he agreed to read an essay you made about it. I am curious how he would react to the essay. But thb even if he finally saw your points I would then leave this person, as I wouldn't see it as my job to "educate" any person with so much effort on anything important to me because they refuse a normal discussion.

Yeah something like that should be possible. While I completely agree that censorship is shitty and general discussion shoul be allowed and encouraged, I also think in practice this is difficult to realize on such a platform. Some smaller communities (lets say a sceptical atheis community) might be in danger by being completely overrun by a mayority of other pissed of communities with different views (lets say a plethora of religious groups concern trolling, or even "academic theologists offering the same opinions again and again to be "discussed") and as there never are black and white truths out there in the end such subreddits just become battlefields subjected to stupid power- plays, when they were meant to be for a specific community who wants to explore or develop their own argumentations (if you know what I mean). In the end this would just again mainly further and promote opinions that are mainstream anyhow.

Maybe you could see the whole thing like different sports teams, they need to play and train together and not make nonsensical mixes (like we have two ballet dancers training with five football players). But then they can meet in a neutral field of play to compete under fixed and fair rules. This is why I think subs should be allowed have their own rules as long as they are transparent, no trolling and brigading should be allowed, but we can have some battle/ discussion subs where different factions can confront each other.
