Very valid point. Lots of other online forums have suffered the same treatment. The attackers usually follow the same script:

1 post something super racist

2 upvote said post to top spot

3 discredit the site by calling them out on racist post - "see this shit they upvote?"

How reddit has fallen. and continues to fall. This is beyond disgusting

Mods openly say they're catering to new Chinese owners

Smells of planned trolling to me.

The idea that Tencent buys <10% of reddit and is able to implement censorship on day 1 is really hard to believe, sorry.

High military command in Venezuela now publicly stating support for Nicolas Maduro. Says military backs Maduro. Without army support, US government backed opposition cannot take control. by salvia_d in WorldPolitics

weird, not a single mention of the 2002 coup anywhere, which was so very similar.

Top question if the US media was free and actually did their job: How much did the "National Endowment for Democracy" pay up this time? In 2002 they brazenly backed the military coup with millions, despite valid & democratic elections.

I agree 100%, reddit is heavily manipulated - but a minor stake in a $2+ billion company doesn't change who's running the show. Reddit is still a US company, operating on US soil, and its management and top-admins and hw and servers are all at the physical mercy of only one government - and it's not the Chinese.

Then just hrs after the investment was announced some admins "admit" they censor content to please their new Chinese overlords - I just can't bring myself to believe it. Seems crazy that the old media-manipulation machinery would roll over that easily.

However, if I was a professional perception-controller (with n ntrepid licenses) and I wanted to spook a western audience about the great new menace of China - I would do just that... make fake claims about "them taking over" to trigger a standard "were not gonna let them!" reaction.

That's just my random thoughts. There are so many layers of deception on reddit that I take nothing there at face value.

They also train Congress. Every freshmen class is taken on a pilgrimage to Netanyahu's office for some 1 on 1 indoctrination.

For another recent example of modern book burning, check out the fate of "gekaufte journalisten" (journalists for hire)

A fake publisher in Oakland made sure the English version never happened. Sinister stuff. Makes one wonder how many other books have been successfully removed in the same stealthy/covert way.

on top of that, Iran is the target of a full scale economic assault, which hardly gets mentioned in the media:

the State Department is aiming to cut off all Iranian oil exports by November. As this move underscores, Washington has abandoned the fig leaf of diplomacy proffered by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last month. [] Instead, the White House is embarking on an economic offensive intended to collapse the Iranian government

Is this about the recent spike in German posts?

The least disruptive change might be to just exclude non-english posts from the default home page, since most of us won't understand them anyway. And keep everything else as is.
