My comment directly addressed their statements, explained why they're misogynistic, and why they further widespread patriarchal ideas. If the only thing making these rationalisations bannable is "but it made them feel bad", then we're back to the usual "men get to say whatever they want, and women should nod out of kindness" that's present in literally every other community. A radical feminist space will and should rip apart misogynistic ideas, and the fact that trans people are completely unable to adapt their ideology to a non-misogynistic framework speaks volumes. Like, sure, getting criticised for misogynistic ideas isn't the end of the world, but it is when your only response to long rationalisations of how what you said is nonsensical and actively hurts women is "women be hysterical".

I claim the label woman because that is what people see me as in real life and what makes the most sense for me. I think that calling me a man is very reductive to my actual lived experiences since that is not what people see me as.

Yeah, because unlike gendered brains or sexist preferences, that one is based in real measurable sexist traits, ones that you actively and desperately seek to emulate. This is another difference between male trans people and women. Male trans people want nothing more than to blend into the rose-tinted role of a woman. This is their goal in life, and a lack of it can result in suicidal tendencies. Meanwhile, actual women want to fight against these roles, and reject this cozy supposedly "gender-affirming" ideal that the patriarchy has set up for them. For trans people, a loss of these gender roles results in extreme, even suicidal distress, because there isn't really anything else they could latch onto to prove to themselves that they're in any way female. For women though, this is nothing but a boatload of subjugation and dehumanisation on top of the actual, measurable, objective reality of them being female. Remove the gender roles, and women are still women, but male trans people are just men.

Sure. You're not bothered by women being subjugated and erased because this benefits you. Female biology being swept under the rug and defined by misogynistic ideas is going to harm actual women with actual female biology, not male people with an artificially induced hormonal disorder. For male trans people, it's very beneficial that penises and anuses are now equated with clits and vaginas, and that women are seen as little more than deformed, castrated men. And female stereotypes are going to harm actual women, not male trans people who feel validated by them and who make use of them to "pass" better. I will be honest with you, to me it sounds like you have taken a lot of your views from the internet. That is your prerogative but I do not have the time nor energy to be plugged into all of the negative energy. I have experienced a lifetime of that already.

Here's the thing: for actual women (i.e. not imitators with rose-tinted glasses), these negative things don't go away as soon as you leave the internet. We don't have the privilege of feeling "euphoric" over being perceived as female. In fact, we are saddled with so much self-hatred as a result of being (mis)treated all our lives because of our sex. People who believe women are subhumans who don't deserve to live independent, healthy lives free from male subjugation are lacking in empathy because they advocate violence and subjugation of women based on supremacism. People who believe men should not violate female safety nor speak in the name of women due to their delusional supremacist ideas are not "lacking in empathy" just because they refuse to prioritise the feelings of oppressors over protection of victims. In fact, the view lacking in empathy is precisely the one that demands women be victimised in order to validate men who self-identify as "nice guys" and "harmless". This is a very classic male retort were women who reject male abuse are equated with bigots because they're being misandrists, completely ignoring the fact that men are not rejected on the basis of supremacism, but as a response to male supremacism.

Something like requiring SRS surgery, 10 years on hormones, no transfers from male prisons, and no history of certain crimes makes sense to me as criteria for trans women in female prisons for instance. Because I have some semblance of wanting the right thing for those that experience gender dysphoria does not mean that I have a lack of concern for others.

Why do I have a feeling you fit these descriptions? Trans people always seem to define their criteria according to how much they're personally likely to fit that. Self-proclaimed transsexuals even moreso than anyone else. Safety for women has nothing to do with it. Women's rights and safety are expected to defined not according to how safe and dignified it will keep them, but on the basis of how validating they are to other men. Also given how godawful the law is at recognising male predators, creeps and supremacists, why should we trust "no (official) history of certain crimes" to be a valid metric here? We already know these men consistently get away scott-free, so using that as a measure of how "safe" they are is asking for trouble.

After my entire life of hearing how trans people were just mentally ill men in dresses from the media and society, hearing this view yet again is not going to change my mind.

There is a difference between people yelling at gender nonconforming people because they're yucky, and women upholding their rights and rejecting male ideas on what women are supposed to be. Moreover, for a lot of people, trans people are mentally ill because they're gender nonconforming, whereas if we take an actually objective view, they're mentally ill because they suffer from delusional ideas, hold self-destructive and deeply anxious psychological ideas about their 100% normal and healthy body parts, and suffer debilitating results whenever reality catches up to them. This is literally a mental illness. Extremely debilitating self-induced distress over non-issues.

While there's a lot to be said in regards to trans criminals gender-typical behaviour, I find the conservative "look, trans shooter!" finger-pointing so laughably ironic, given just how much death and straight up terrorism their precious white male supremacism directly leads to, and given how much their no-questions-asked gun-worshipping keeps these things in the news.

As for my opinion, based on limited info and my experience with social trends in this area, she seemed to have been the standard-issue awkward (probably autistic) terminally-online artsy animal-idolising female millenial (mentally teen) with an interest in horror and morbidity, perhaps with a crushing-on-mass-murderers phase. I've pretty consistently seen those women directed into the trans pipeline. She would've been told that her fascination with male fictional/real life killers and her not wanting to be feminine was due to her being male herself, which is in line with trans people's very artificial obsessive ideas about the opposite sex. Since she was probably around male-dominated horror/gore websites or 4chan-like imageboards, she might've latched onto things like guns, atheism-as-an-identity and the "kids are annoying and need to die" mentality, and might've pushed it to prove to herself she belongs there. She sure as hell wouldn't latch onto the misogynistic abuse-and-rape-women aspect of these communities since that would hit a bit too close to home (err, I mean it would "gender invalidate her") and also target her female friends, so she'd need to compensate with something else.

I'm not sure if she got roped into some 4chan-level trans crowd or transmedicalists or whatever, or if she was just going off of the ever-present patriarchal toxicity all around us. Either way she probably felt this would be an ideal way to gender validate herself as a cool edgy loner boy, which is more attractive than crazy hysterical bitch or some other misogynistic slur. She must've liked the idea, based on previous trans shooters and general trans crime coverage, that the news would have to refer to her with male pronouns. Heck, the trans crowd is already gender-affirming themselves with her - "See! Female trans people are just as violent as men because they are real men!". I really don't think testosterone would make that much of an impact even if it was involved (I usually just see it more intensely fueling and encouraging the degree of a delusion, but not really changing anything in an of itself), but for both this and the Colorado shooter, as far as I know they weren't even on it, so it's kinda funny to see trans activists scramble to gender-validate their stage of transition by claiming this is just another example of extreme totally-cis-like male behaviour. Trans identified women have completely different motivations for imitating male toxicity than men, who never knew any better nor were policed or held to a higher standard. They are active imitators, as opposed to male shooters and male trans people snapping because that's what they are used to doing when they don't get their way. Trans identified women are not gonna go out and impulsively rape and murder (unless they're schizophrenic), they're gonna try to act out a fictional image of a "dude" that will maximise their validation points. They're like robots imitating humans in that way.

If the woman has male friends, she's going to engage in a lot of asskissing to gender-validate herself, but she'll also know to keep her head down so the guys wouldn't withdraw their approval. I doubt a woman like that would end up as a shooter. She's either going to know her place, or eventually her bros will turn on her for being female but in a way where she ultimately won't be able to "not like other girls"-herself out of it. And you can bet they won't have much patience for her "I'm a real boy"-pronouns if they're even slightly edgy. She'd either put up with being creeped on, or she'd be traumatised and run off. Either way, she's not going to shoot up a school, because women don't do that out of the blue. If she's going to shoot up a school, it's going to be fueled mainly by gender-affirmation, as opposed to just lashing out.

The shooter didn't seem to have male friends, but she probably spent lots of time in male-dominated spaces. Whether those had a trans community, I don't know. The more dysfunctional (talking 4chan levels) trans communities tend to be male dominated with the usual gamut of misogyny, racism and male narcissism, and with male-identified women who are there for validation points from roleplaying as edgy guys, ironically in a community where said edgy attitude is maintained by guys identifying as women. So, that dynamic is par for the course, but I feel the difference is that normally, women in non-trans communities will try really super hard to distance themselves from any "politics" for maximum approval from men, and will hyperfocus or derail to whatever "apolitical" interest removes the focus from them being women (with male friends, misogyny would be pretty much obligatory on top of that). She didn't seem to be trying that hard at transitioning, which could suggest a more passive attitude she'd have to take on in non-trans communities in order to not draw attention to herself, meaning she'd try to compensate with more violent attitudes.

The trans activist types will be a lot more into gender-validating themselves through general conceptual ideas on gender roles and/or brainsex, as opposed to ass-kissing specific irl guys in exchange for "one of the boys" points. It's more ideological in that way. They can also try to win points by emulating extreme misogyny if they latch onto brainsex (everpresent in any male community), but in this case it's more a performance to convince themselves personally of it, than the irl guys around them who are grading their performance. Basically they'll do it not out of fear that the guys will turn on them, but because they want to assure themselves that they're naturally just as misogynistic as the image of a guy they're imitating, despite what online naysayers claim. This is a very common sentiment in female trans spaces, so if the shooter was in trans spaces this might've inflated the (not that unusual for her demographic) fascination with school shooters and push to stand out by imitating them.

That's what gets me about men and boys. Female communities are accepting literally to the point of being self-destructive (i.e. liberal feminism) and STILL men rush to cover shitty men's asses even if said men ruin their lives. The levels of delusion are unbelievable.

But honestly, I've completely lost faith in the GC crowd as well. It's filled with conservative straight women complaining about femininity being overtaken by men and talking about "sacred femininity". GC had a chance to genuinely criticise gender, not just in trans people, but the way it negatively effects everyone, but it chose to hop in bed with conservatives clutching their pearls over people not fitting their proper gender roles.

I wish there was an actually feminist and actually gender critical community out there, but you just can't trust people to not end up licking patriarchal men's boots, so now we have a choice between liberals who are now actively trying to remove women's rights, and conservatives who have always been trying to remove women's rights.

This interpretation only works if you assume there was ever a time when men were normal, good people. This has never in history been the case. Like most things, the corruption was there all along, and the internet just intensified it and mutated it, though not at all beyond recognition. It's an extension of traditional male beliefs that never went anywhere and were never challenged. Most men never had an attraction to women as human beings. That's why, out of all sexualities, they're the worst at and least interested in satisfying their partners, and they're the only ones pushing for widespread supremacist, abusive systems aiming to control and subjugate their partners. So male "attraction" towards women remains in the realm of male supremacism, out-of-touch beauty standards (that actual women are seen to be only a vague approximation of) and delusional sexist ideas, and the fact that the internet morphs this into comically bizarre fetishes is the least surprising thing of them all.

I would not be ok with someone saying I'm not a woman not because I would get a mental breakdown over someone acknowledging something that I'm desperately lying to myself about, but for the same reason I would not be okay with being called a sparrow, or someone calling my dog a helicopter, or claiming we live on Mars. Because this is false, and there is objective, conclusive evidence that proves it is false.

Additionally, there is an additional problem when falsehoods are pedaled for the sake of a damaging agenda. So, for example, if someone insisted that COVID is fake, or that the Earth is only a few thousand years old, this goes beyond just a mistake, or a silly misunderstanding, and is falsehood motivated by ideology. In the same way, a person calling me some measure of not-a-woman because I don't match their misogynistic ideas about women isn't just saying something that isn't in line with reality, they are also directly expressing their toxic ideology by doing that, an ideology that is rooted in the idea that a woman is a fetish, or an ideal in men's heads, or someone who plays with dolls etc.

The fact that superficial perception can be tricked does not change the reality of human biology. People think spiders are insects, but that doesn't make it so. People have mistaken me for a man, that does not make me male. It's honestly astonishing how many trans activists need to have it explained to them that holding patently false beliefs does not make them valid just because you believe in them.

I will also say, I have continuously been able to tell who's male or female in online trans spaces solely by their very typical gendered socialisation. That perfectly demonstrates why gender validation is so problematic and even straight up dangerous. Pronouns are not based on biology.

Either pronouns are based in biology (which they are), or they're based in misogynistic stereotypes that a woman is someone with a pink brain, someone who enjoys misogynistic oppression, someone who likes to wear "women's" clothes etc. etc. The alternative to pronouns rooted in biology is pronouns rooted in defining men and women according to utter misogyny, and that's why radical feminists have an issue with them and don't want to use them.

Also, pronouns have always been based in biology. Trans people themselves are extremely vocal about how oppressive this societal norm is. So claiming that actually, everyone already uses pronouns based in genderfeels and trans people have nothing to complain about feels like intentionally playing dumb, since that is one of the biggest points of contention and confusion between trans activists and the majority of people.

That's not what being male is. There are plenty of non-trans women who have deep voices, facial hair and abnormal testosterone levels. These are not people of the opposite sex, or third sex or whatever, they're either just a natural variance of male or female biology, or they have a disorder of sexual development. If anyone with male testosterone levels was automatically male, it wouldn't be possible to define a disorder where a male has male hormone levels, or any disorder defined by the sexual biological function malfunctioning. That's why no-one would bat an eye at a boy claiming he needs to see the doctor because his period didn't come in, regardless of whether that boy identified as a girl, a menstruator or a dragon.

Buck's body is a woman's body, morphed through years of maintaining an artificial hormonal imbalance (which has also lead to debilitating health issues). This is completely different from a male body that is male because it's MALE. This is a masculinised female body, not a male body, just as a castrated male with an inverted penis has nothing to do with an actual female. We live in a sexist society. I cannot blame people for wanting to be gender-nonconforming in the safest and most drama-free way possible, and I'm not surprised that for many this reaches the point of mental illness (which is common with socialised gendered traits). Living as your true self despite what society thinks is nice and all, but sadly is a life of suffering.

My real issues with trans people result from the ridiculously misogynistic ideology that they keep pushing, and the fact that their path to liberation requires women's rights to be pushed back decades. I don't think that putting individuals on drugs and through plastic surgeries should ever be seen as an acceptable fix for the broken patriarchal system, but I can't fault individuals for using it as a convenient escape. I live in a country that has done a shitty thing in the past. I do not see criticism of that nor my rejection and hatred of it as an affront on me as a person. I see it as a duty to push a community that I contribute to and partake in a better direction. I got rid of something I didn't want. Now that it's gone, I am happier than I was to have it. So for me, I was solving a very basic problem with a very basic solution.

The issue is that amputating body parts that are perceived as shameful or wrong etc. in a society constantly sending women these messages shouldn't be the solution, even if it seems "simple". It's also incredibly simple for people with body integrity dysphoria to amputate their limbs, or for gay people to stay in the closet. I notice that a lot of people on the trans (rights) side seem to think women love being women, that they get euphoric from having breasts, they get overjoyed from being female. From a patriarchal and liberal feminist standpoint, this makes sense: there is a ridiculous amount of focus in society placed on sexualising women's bodies through the male gaze and for male satisfaction, and even "progressive" movements selling this as female empowerment and liberation. The image is painted of a sexy, very confident half-naked woman who's in control of her (male-gaze pandering) sexuality.

In practice however, anxieties over one's body and a lifetime of endured objectification, self-hatred and sexual dysfunction are very common in women. In my experience, they're so common that I no longer believe any woman who tries to paint a picture of a woman overjoyed by these things. It's like asking me to believe that your average Muslim woman really did choose her subhuman god-given role. No matter how euphoric it makes her, I'm not going to buy it when we know from history how genuine this contentment with one's oppression is.

You can tell a person to just be themselves all you want, but when society treats them like crap for it, ofc they're going to pick the value system that doesn't do that over a lifetime of being told they're wrong (also why women defend femininity despite how obviously damaging it is to their well-being. Well, that and a lifetime of mass 24/7 brainwashing to put men's needs first). Difficulties with gender are going to exist in different intensities as long as we place so much value into genderist beliefs, so the only real way to fix it is to take on genderism as a concept straight on for its anti-humanist ideals. This however, would get GC's conservative women and especially their boyfriends pissy, and meanwhile QT has already legitimised gender as something so crucial to one's identity that it can literally make people suicide if not respected and played to. As such, genderism always has to be presented as a "preference" regardless of how many mental issues and tragedies it keeps causing, a preference that a minority of weirdos simply didn't get up to speed with, but one that is great and peachy otherwise and how the world should be. Trans people are an extreme case, but there have always existed many more people who are unhappy with these expectations, and far more who are unhappy, but don't realise why or don't dare to put a finger on it because it's easier and more sensible according to the existing value system to redirect all the blame and related trauma onto women.

GC likes to pretend there's some plague of "genderism" that's only started with the trans rights movement. In reality most people are fully on board with genderism, which is why we live in a patriarchal society, it's just the rigidity of it that people disagree on. Conservatives force people into cages so the proper world order can be preserved. Liberals want to maintain the cages because they help men feel superior and/or hornier, but in view of the trauma and anxiety said cages cause, liberals kindly allow people to choose which cage looks the shiniest according to everyone's super special unique snowflake preferences. Both believe in the natural patriarchal order and both put copious amounts of effort into prettying it up so people who derive their worth from it can sleep better at night.

There is a lot of talk about girls being pressured into surgeries, feeling ashamed of their physiology and pretending they're not female for respectability, but these things were a part of girls' experiences long before the trans craze took over, because all of them originate from the same pressures. Girls who openly hate being seen through pornified and subhuman lens that they are inevitably viewed through are still going to feel these feelings. Girls who claim they like being seen through these lens are still going to be saddled with mountains of anxieties, trauma and lower standards compared to men directly resulting from these expectations. And the ones who have internalised self-hatred to the point of getting amputations and maintaining a lifetime of an artificially induced hormonal imbalance are not suddenly going to be cured, just as any other girl wasn't. You can't end trauma and mental illnesses resulting from genderism without tackling genderism, not just as a "preference" or a special cage for special people, but as a toxic, damaging system it is.

Yeah, even if we got rid of the rape-culture in law-enforcement (already a tall order), the extreme frequency of male violence and creeping on women and the inherent difficulties of prosecuting these acts already renders any hope of justice for the majority of the cases impractical and futile, let alone the slew of cases that would happen if women lost any protections. Though actually what would more likely happen is that we'd get women traumatised and fearing leaving the house and being in public even more than they already do, but we could at least rest easy knowing that some male trans person will use their hermit ways as evidence of having a female brain.

The only way for spaces meant to protect women from male violence to stop existing is for male violence over women to stop existing. Most women are woefully unaware of what supporting trans rights actually means for their own rights, so supporting trans people doesn't actually mean they're willing to forego their own rights. If you go beyond the most extreme progressives who live more in their heads and their little queer bubble than the real world, you'll find that plenty of women are positively shocked at the idea that their spaces and sports should be erased out of existence.

The people who barely cause any issues in these areas spend a disproportionate amount of time apologising, moderating themselves and claiming they'll do better on problems that they're not causing, while the ones actually causing the issues write them off as persecution, make excuses, or sweep it under the rug as something everyone's guilty of anyways.

Nevertheless, the negative effects on women's freedoms and safety are going to happen whether women virtue signal that they're ok with it or not, just as they keep happening even in countries where women think they're at fault for getting gang-raped for leaving the house without their husbands. Even on the old GCdebatesQT sub, GC people were arguing men have a right to "sex-segregated" spaces for dignity, privacy, etc.

Far more people were arguing that it doesn't matter whether women want to go into male spaces (and in fact many women do go into male toilets when the need arises, i.e. no toilet paper or lengthy cues). The ones who took issue also generally did so because they knew this would be an overture to freely violating women's spaces next.

Like, I could use bopomofodojo's comment above to argue that GC doesn't care if passing male trans people use female bathrooms, but we both know that cherrypicking a few exceptions doesn't erase what the vast majority of the movement agrees on and actually fights for.

I haven’t really experienced that men would filter out what they think about women, I hear men openly say misogynistic things all the time. They trash talk women and want me to join in and get upset when I refuse.

This has been my experience as well, which is why I try to avoid friendships with men. Thinking about it, I imagine men only do this kind of filtering when they're in more equal environments like certain jobs that don't tolerate it, and environments with more equal gender ratios, due to the backlash. I can only imagine that the women who are surprised at the misogyny that men uncover around them might've surrounded themselves with liberal men and assumed that these men are not misogynists, like most women assume (and then get burned by). Moreover, men expecting high-fives for their misogyny doesn't mean they see you as male, it just means they think you also agree that women are subhuman, and as we all know, history is rife with women having to put up with this due to patriarchal norms.

When trans people exhibit transphobia or what is perceived as such is usually interpreted to be a manifestation of internalized transphobia and warrants pity, but when non-trans people exhibit or say the exact same things, then that is just plain transphobia and warrants aggressive action against 'bigots'.

I mean yeah, but that makes sense. The idea is that a member of an oppressed group isn't pushing an ideology to further a supremacist hierarchy in their favour, but are rather victims of their own oppression telling them they deserve their place, and brainwashed into supporting an ideology that treats them as subhuman because the dominant group says so. Obviously I disagree with the notion that trans people are oppressed by people not using whatever pronouns they tell them to, but if you do assume they are, then it makes sense to treat internalised and external bigotry differently, and that's consistent with other progressive movements.

Obviously sports require a sex-based division, as do medical issues. These divisions are based in physical differences in male and female bodies requiring different expertise and different evaluation standards. This is different from spaces that serve to protect women from the social problem of patriarchal violence and harassment. Women are still targeted specifically for their sex, but the reason why they need protection is entirely external.

It is not narcissistic to not want to deal with being objectified and fetishised. The problem is in the movement's misogynistic bias, where women are continuously told to know their place for the sake of liberating men's dicks because women aren't seen as actually oppressed beyond just being uptight prudes, while everyone else gets to be above them in oppression rankings. Admittedly, the trans activism's notion that women are gender-affirmed by their oppression also doesn't help, but I believe it all still relies on the same idea. Trans people as a result of their mental illness generally have very twisted understanding of gender roles, so the actual extent of the patriarchy is either unknown to them because of their socialisation (this applies more to male trans people), or it's viewed through the pink lens of gender-affirmation. Liberal feminism is more concerned with affirming everyone and recontextualising the status quo as actually liberating, than making them understanding the extent of the patriarchy.

That's not to say there isn't plenty of shittiness from trans individuals trying to throw people under the bus and undermine social progress for the sake of their gender affirmation, but you can say that about any group of individuals. The bigger problem is in how a supposed feminist movement enables them to do this to the detriment of women and portrays it as a fight for basic human rights.

There really is no need for sexed spaces once you remove the patriarchy. There is no basis for them. Male and female bodies being different does not translate into needing separate spaces for them.

I also don't see men being particularly self-conscious of their bodies, aside from anxieties over penis size that is more in place because of other men anyways and its association with masculinity. Men are not saddled with the beauty standards that women have their entire personhood defined by, nor is there a history of stigmatisation of their bodies. I don't have an in-depth understanding of the evolution of the movements so my impressions are based purely on how I've noticed the more casual discourse change over the years, i.e. before trans activism vs after. All the problems with liberal feminism look like your average pandering to horny ""devil's-advocate"" male liberals, and that results from the usual socialisation putting male misogyny above women's rights and dignity. Liberal feminism has been problematic way before trans ideology started taking centre stage, and most of its problems needn't involve trans ideology at all and are more easily explained by wanting to (often literally) sell women a safe, mainstream version of feminism that won't get their boyfriends pissy, where everything is fine as it is so long as you yell "girl power!". Perhaps it's a result of said "girl power" becoming a popular thing to market to girls in the...what, 80's? 90's? already rooting in the mind of little girls a pandering, male-approved popular image of feminism. Also I'm sure their messaging about how women are just as strong as men is a huge factor in so many people supporting men in female sports.

Feminism can't really hold a candle to the patriarchy as far as societal influence goes, so it can't give women value when the patriarchy keeps beating them into the ground every single day since childhood while giving them the easy "just be pretty and you will be loved" solution. Women who are socialised all their lives that the only worth they have is their femininity, with a plethora of accompanying trauma and anxieties (by design), aren't just going to reject that, even when they're aware of how damaging it is for them. The mere implication of making women reject femininity still gets shouted down as extreme, because that would make them lose the only value as a woman in a world of men, the only ability they have. So liberal feminism sells women the idea that they can have both their cake and eat it too: they can be beautiful, feminine and (insert everything else that society discourages or punishes women for). So their only form of societal worth is preserved while also acknowledging the unjust elephant in the room that the pesky feminists keep bringing to their attention.

Most men are bioessentialist, and that applies to liberals. They're going to want to hear that women endure their trauma because their brains evolved for it, much like how they'll want to hear that women deserve male abuse and discrimination for the same reason. To get their support, liberal feminism must somehow pander both to liberal male supremacist ideology where female submission and suffering under men signifies male freedom and a proper, natural world order, but also it has to sell women the idea that this suppression is empowering and something they freely choose for themselves (which also lets them kinda skirt around the bioessentialism because oppressors' victims don't like hearing that it's in their biology to be oppressed as much as their oppressors do). If you can do that, you can not only sell a much easier, status-quo-appealing form of liberation to anxious, traumatised women clinging onto their only form of worth, but you can even turn this plight into its own struggle for justice, justice for femininity, the real victim of oppression. It's not unfair that women are subject to all this crap for having the gall to be born female, but rather, the real injustice is that femininity (focusing heavily on sexual submission to men, both to make it more appealing to them and because that's the reason femininity exists in the first place) has been so unfairly marginalised and isn't seen as strong and empowering, to the point of vilifying women who reject femininity as suffering from "internalised misogyny" and being bigots against "sex work", swerfs akin to racists. Now traditional women can feel powerful for doing what they're pressured into all their lives because they can tell themselves it's all an intentional, wilful act of defiance and empowerment on their part. This also plays into society constantly calling women "powerful" for men being horny and wanting to fuck them. Men ofc love hearing this, because to them, it's all the usual confirmation of ladybrains and the proper world order, but one that makes them sleep better at night. It goes without saying that women are choosing their oppression, because women have evolved to be oppressed by men and to enjoy it. It's not a result of men being awful, and now they can even call themselves feminist for jerking off to porn stars. They're encouraging women's self-expression and freedoms, helping them accept themselves in the modern world pushing them farther from their true, natural role.

Trans people saw this, and swooped in: the silent, implied bioessentialism was perfect for revitalising the concept of ladybrains in feminist movements, and femininity as the real victim is what makes a man with she/her pronouns equally as oppressed as a woman.
