Lets look at Africa and Africans, a lot of their lives have changed hugely over the years due to the West and western ideas.What kind of a place would it be if no one had gone there. Africans appear unable to look at their homelands and think how they would be without the Wests help. You would not have people like Robert Mugabe and Jacob Zuma to name two and all their mismanagement. You would have had mass starvation but then no one would have heard about the suffering, why? There would be no media but then again would you have had such a large populations to be hungry anyway? I doubt it . Yes, Gates Vax program can thought be thought of as a crap deal but really what are the other options? You dont want the west in so the option is China... just look at the deal you will and are getting from them, they are the new Colonialists and the states that let them in are too blind to see. Gates is not perfect but he is helping and has done a lot of good works in Africa. Yes, he is a bit of a geek and easy to knock him and his money but really what are the options.
