No Child Left Behind programs were the start of the downfall. Back in my day we had different class programs for advanced students and for kids that were behind... Now they just keep everyone in one class and dumb it down until everyone passes. They even make modified diploma programs. At this point when I am hiring for one of our basic positions I MUCH prefer seeing someone with a GED, that still demonstrates that you accomplished something. A diploma just shows you attended class enough to meet requirements.

Automated Teller Machines often dispense $20s. I haven't gotten a $100 from an ATM in many years despite taking out the max when I withdraw from them. Businesses have to keep change available. Paying in larger than normal bills eats up all their available smaller bills for change making. That is why they cap it at $20s. Don't be the ass, if you only have hundreds buy something more reasonable to break it first or stop by your bank to do so. It is not better to deal with your large bills than to deal with the added fee for using a card. I get that you can buy and sell used books, but the part I don't get is this: You can have a business selling book covers. You can even add your custom artwork to them. You cannot however put copyrighted content on those book covers, such as "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" without permission. So how is it not infringement to replace the original covers with your custom book covers and sell them at a premium? It doesn't seem to meet the fair use standards.

What type of phone would you be wanting? I usually check the xda forums before I buy to make sure it is rootable. I wouldn't recommend a rooted phone for your main or only device especially if you do your banking and personal accounts on it. You can keep it secure but it becomes potentially more vulnerable, especially if you aren't aware of the risks. The Google Play store recognizes if the phone is rooted and some apps will not be available like Netflix, Hulu and many banking apps. You can install anything you want outside of the store though.

I think you are thinking of an unlocked bootloader. Unlocked is whether the device is tied to a particular service provider like sprint or Verizon or cricket or any other. Those you can buy unlocked. Rooted is very different. Many service providers, especially Verizon and the phones provided with Amazon stuff built in have the bootloadera locked. Some can be unlocked by simple code requested after the phone is paid off, others won't unlock them and you need to hope a way is found. XDA folks have ways to unlock the bootloader for many devices that the manufacturer doesn't want unlocked.

To root your phone you must have the bootloader unlocked, so buying an unlocked one saves that step, but you must still root the device to access those benefits.

Rooting your phone is basically like using a windows PC on an administrator account versus a severely limited user account. It vastly increases what you can do with the device, not just who you can choose as your service provider. While a factory won't sell a rooted phone directly that I can think of, there are sellers on eBay that sell rooted devices.

Many people do. I love having a rooted device, usually my previous phone. I keep two devices usually. One my current phone that I keep secure and access my personal accounts on. Then the other is my previous phone that I root and install most of my apps and mods on. Having a rooted device gives you a ton of more options for how to use it. Personally I mostly use it for gaming as it helps with automation and allows th various hacking applications to work fully. Customizing the looks and sounds are fun, clearing out the bloatware is nice for increasing performance, You can do a lot in parallel space but only so much and you can never improve the phones performance in parralels. However you do lose slight quality for things like Netflix and you do put your phone at higher risk if you install untrusted apps. So I wouldn't use a rooted device for my personal email or banking or if I only kept one device. A lot of people are hesitant to try rooting their phones because of the risk of bricking the device, but the xda forums usually have very well done instructions for phones that have rooting methods. The main issue is that Android phones vary so much, and so does the methods to root them.
