Two House Democrats change their tune on transgender athletes days after Trump win by CeruleanCarbon in GenderCritical

It's been so refreshing to see this. Unfortunately, I think this discussion is already being stamped out. Everyone in my Bluesky feed is sharing articles like the MSNBC article that says "this moment, when trans people are most endangered, is not the time to throw them under the bus." Also: "there's no evidence" that people reacted badly to transmania. Most forums and outlets are going all in on the need to protect our poor fragile trans darlings.

I appreciate that some sane voices tried to point out the obvious. But unfortunately the Democrats and the Left in general will not address this issue honestly. Even though they're shocked so many young women stayed home, even though they're shocked that women "voted against their own interests." They will not admit that Dylan Mulvaney's Bud Light campaign turned off many people, that women dislike being called "birthing parent" and job applicants dislike being asked for their pronouns and people with real struggles resented seeing fetishists being prioritized over everyone else.

I despair. This is what I was so afraid of and I think Trump Part 2 will only see TIMs turned into saints by the Left.

The Atlantic: The Democrats Need an Honest Conversation on Gender Identity by LoveScience in GenderCritical

I'm torn between happiness that this is getting SOME sunlight and frustration that it's still getting shouted down. I and other people are trying to talk about this in different Lefty communities but other commenters are still responding with "We're not going to debate trans humanity" and "Hey, can you remember that trans people are reading this and this could push them over the edge?" I really hope people won't be cowed by the "my trans neighbor tried to hang themselves yesterday, plz donate" stories that are multiplying across the Internet. This is a rare moment to wake people up.

Anyhow, decent article. This is dead on: "My theory was that these ads tapped into a larger concern about Democrats: that they were elitists who ruled by fiat, declined to defend their unpopular positions, and treated skeptics as bigots. Gender might not have been high on voters’ list of concerns, but immigration and the border were—and all the same criticisms of Democratic messaging apply to those subjects, too."

I think this also applies to general feelings around race, DEI, and any sensitive conversation - people are sick to death of feeling silenced and called bigots.

I saw homophobic slurs on LinkedIn today and reported them. It's amazing how fast men let loose with the racists texts, "Your body, my choice," and mocking other men as "pansies" and worse. They understand quite well what a Trump/Vance world means, even if so many people are in denial about that.

I do think we'll see more violence. I actually am quite worried about TIFs, especially the ones who clearly still look like girls. There has been so much animosity toward the "blue haired" and I can see men feeling emboldened to go after with TIFs, who represent both gender ideology and women who reject men.

Could go either way, but I'll go with Harris.
