I think you are right. Everything you said.

Yes absolutely. Add to that the fact that many men will feel it's OK to beat up TiFs because "they wanted to be treated like men after all".

(Oooh, hello lipsy! So nice to see you. This is TortoiseMouse)

Ah, OK this is really interesting and helpful, thanks. US politics seems incredibly complex and mysterious to an English gal. I know I can read about it but there's nothing like having someone actually explain it to you.

Wow, the Democrats really made a lot of mistakes, huh. Makes this outcome seem kind of inevitable. What a mess. I hope they get their house in order ASAP and in time for the next election.

Rogan, Musk and an emboldened manosphere salute Trump’s win: ‘Let that sink in’ by TurtleRat in GenderCritical

Depressing and terrifying article about how young men are being seduced by the far right into a kind of frenzy of toxic masculinity, and how this bolstered Trump's win. I feel physically sick every time I see that phrase: "your body, my choice, forever". I hesitate to write it here as I want it to stop being propagated. It's like we are moving into the age of Gilead.

Thank you for this. The Guardian published a similar article which is also an interesting read: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/07/4b-movement-trump-women

This is a GREAT video. Thank you so much. Very interesting hearing Kara talk about the things the Democrats are not happy about - covering up Biden's mental capacity issues for months/years; not voting in Harris in the proper way (I didn't know about that).

This is such a big issue, the whole thing. The reason the Democrats lost, the implications for women and beyond, etc. etc.

Thank you again.

It's reasonable for TIMs to fear physical violence, and to fear that it will worsen under Trump. Gay men are targetted by physically violent homophobes and those exact same types of people are going to by physically violent to men who dress up in women's clothes and wear make-up etc.

I think it's true that in a DT regime this kind of violence is likely to increase.

I don't see any silver linings with a DT presidency. As we know, giving TIPs and TRAs lots of space and daylight is the best way to have them demonstrate how regressive and idiotic their ideas are. The whole world will eventually realise what a harmful, dangerous and nonsensical project it really is. The sooner that happens, the better, and supressing them and their ideas will just drag it out in my opinion. No pun intended.

What the “Most Anti-LGBTQ” Election in Decades Means for Trans People by WrongToy in GenderCritical

Absolutely. If he cared about women and children he would not be destroying abortion rights. I know the anti-abortion lobby will think caring about children is anathema to caring about abortion rights, but the truth is the abortion issue disproportionately affects women and children living in poverty and to be born as an unwanted baby is a terrible legacy to bear.

I agree with this too, but on this the trans lobby is its own worst enemy. The vocal and visible activists for trans rights come across as unhinged, aggressive and out of touch with reality. Not all trans-identified people are insane but a fair few of them have a tenuous grip on reality. E.g. believing you can literally change sex and/or demanding that society must actively "affirm" your fantasy.

I would think twice about employing someone associated with this set of behaviours and beliefs because it implies a lack of critical thinking, a lack of resilience, an unreasonable level of expectation of other people's behaviour, an inability to engage in discussion and compromise, and a tendency to impose your worldview rigidly on others. These are not desirable qualities in the workplace and in some professions can be dangerous or a reputational risk.

Fully agree. But also do not want to be policed/scolded/harrassed for using correct language e.g. "only women can give birth" and using correct pronouns for people, and do not want to see absurd word-salads and woman-erasing language taking over policies and legislation.
