In case anyone still has a Reddit account, and is a moderator or creator of a sub, Reddit is going to mass-delete/reclaim subs you've been squatting on if they haven't had any activity:

I'm curious to see what will happen to r/DropTheT. I assume it will be safe and continue to be squatted on, since Buddug is a powermod alt. But it would be amazing if he lost it. I don't even care at this point what it would become, it would just bring me glee and joy to see him stripped of it.

Anyway, hope y'all fellow squatters are either the sub creators, or made a post in the sub over the past year.

I'm going to lose several, including some I was helping hold for the r/detrans mods. Unfortunately, the creator long-since deleted his account, so we're not going to get a pass under Phase 2. I've reached out to the only other mod on the subs, since she's still a part of r/detrans, in hopes she can make a "Good Samaritan" request to keep them.

Is it that gay spaces are being taken over by hug-boxing TQ+, or is it that gay spaces are focused on physical attributes/features instead of something else?

From what I understand, AGB is where all the true gay men go ... BECAUSE all the other Reddit subs are hug boxes. AGB as a sub allows the real perspective. Gay men are being confined and ousted, just like true lesbians were.

I don't think all gay men are based, but I do think that based gay men find their way to AGB.

It all started as a way to counter the TRA claim "this never happens" ("that never happens"), when we would say that a large number of TW are just men transitioning for criminal gain and/or to hide their criminal past. There were a few women shared as well, but overwhelmingly it was men, with crimes dating back into the 90s and sometimes even earlier.

It was technically a GC sub since that's where the idea was first formed, but I think it's purpose works well regardless of a user's political background. I like your idea, maybe there could be two subs that work together (and share crossover content as-needed), one for LGB-specific receipts and one for everything?

To run the sub successfully, mods would need to be very strict and critical of what kind of content is being shared, and make sure it doesn't just turn into "trans bad". Otherwise it would just harm our credibility.

If anyone wants to take on the challenge, maybe get in touch with u/womeninlove on Ovarit and ask if she'll pass over the reigns to the SaidIt sub here? Since s/thisneverhappens is already set up with the basics, a newbie mod could more easily begin to get the hang of how modding actually works and what goes into it, before starting a new sister/brother LGB sub.

Or maybe just make the LGB sub, and dive in! LOL

You wanna really go down memory lane?

This is some evidence of our first brigade: It doesn't catch everything, u/NutterButterFlutter was acting fast deleting and banning people, but you can see a very peculiar shift in tone and posting frequency starting on July 5th.

r/traa users started it, and were patting each others asses and gloating about it endlessly. Then it spread to numerous other subs (notably r/LGBT, r/trans, and r/ainbow, but a few others did pick up on it a bit too). As shitty as it was for me and WV and Rez for 3 solid days, that brigade was actually the reason that r/traa put in their rule about not sharing content from "bigoted subs" and began temp-banning their users. So at least something good came out of it.

It does go back to the beginning!

I imagine there's no longer access to our sub through Reddit APIs, so it's probably not EVERYTHING ... but rather, as much as was archived out there on the interwebs and could be recreated through Wayback Machine,, and Google cache.

I could be wrong though. I thought I deleted or removed that automatically-generated post. If they were able to pull that up as being part of the sub, maybe r/LGBDropTheT does still exist out there somewhere.

Wow, that's awesome! It looks like it's a massive scraping project, pulling together archives and any data that may still be out there and recreating a backup of the sub. Kudos to whoever took that on, and also for doing the same for all the other subs! Or is it you, did you do this u/trainingbluejay???

Regaining access to r/thisneverhappens is HUGE! I remember participating in the early days of the sub and helping the creator formulate rules and flairs, it turned into an incredible resource. People definitely struggled with flairing, but the fact we even had all the info compiled in one place was fantastic.

It's easy for us to remake the flags and/or icons into the more joyful versions if people want it ... but we're also wondering if there are other images that people would want as user flairs. We don't want to get super complicated and have like 80 flairs to choose from, but it's pretty easy to add on a few more besides just the flags/icons.

"Welcome the the club" indeed.

I don't necessarily agree with all transmed/truscum beliefs, but they are the sane ones of the TQ+, and I do wish they were allowed a voice. Despite the colonization over the past years, they're the closest we have to the true transsexuals who were once a part of us. They can at least represent the trans community and their unique needs, and understand that T and LGB are different. If they could actually be allowed to represent the trans community, I feel like it would severely cut down on tucutes/trenders, as well as detrans. And they would allow actual legitimate medical and scientific research into dysphoria and what should be done about it, instead of just hug-boxing every identity.

Maybe throw homage to the SuperStraight/SuperSexual movement and being focused on sexuality? I'm pretty sure they came up with a color scheme that wasn't only "straight", but also included LGB.

I can't remember it exactly, maybe us being purple/white with their orange/black? In any case, they quickly realized all of us real LGBs were experiencing what we were and embraced us so we all could support each other.

I don't think you should have to out yourself as trans to your cis partners/potential partners. I'm sure people will disagree with me but, quite honestly? I don't give a shit.

Whether they're pre or post-op, if you can't love someone based off of whatever genitals they have, maybe you're just a coward who doesn't deserve to be in a relationship until you grow TF up.

I've felt this way for a l o n g time, even before I knew I was trans. My opinion still stands. If you're a gay man and you can't eat a little ACTUAL "bussy"? Then say you prefer cis men you fuckin coward and don't waste anyone's time. Same with lesbians. If you can't succ a lil dick (and you know damn well trans women keep it very clean), then idk maybe just say your love excludes trans women & be on your way.

Ofc there are some moments you might need to disclose your gender identity in terms of what pronouns you prefer. But otherwise? Nah.

Really tired of having to differentiate between "cis" women and "trans" women when I'm talking about women as a whole. I just love women & I'm no coward. If a woman shows up to a date with me, it goes well, we go back to her or my place, get a little freaky, and she pulls out a pre-installed strap? Less work for both of us let's fuckin GOOOOO. I'll call it whatever you want honey, just put it in my mouth.

That's the vibes dude. As it should be!!!👏🏾

Cut right to the chase and stop being a waste of time for people if you don't include trans individuals in your sexual orientation, and just shut the hell up.

Buddug also tried to infiltrate a GC sub I had, r/GenderCriticalism: I got the sub through RedditRequest after the creator deleted her account and left it unmodded. I made it private, and redirected to r/GenderCritical. It was actually pretty great when he reached out through ModMail, LOL

Since CW mods a million subs, instead, look at the mod list of what Buddug is squatting on:

CW mods several of those. Other common users are WannaBeKate and Cherry_Star_Cream, and even DrewiePoodle is in on one or two. They're all MTF and powermods on several big name subs.

I commend Sylvia and Marsha for trying, they had good intentions and were really trying to help people in the community. Even though STAR only lasted 6 months, those 6 months helped people who had nowhere else to turn, and that should be applauded. Their contributions have been over-hyped though, and it's insane just how much.

It's also completely erasing who they were and how they lived their lives to post-posthumously transgender either of them. Yes, language can change over time, and words that once meant one thing can mean another. But even if we assume the prefix "trans" back then meant exactly what it does now, BOTH OF THEM STATED THEY WERE NOT. They were gay males using sex work to hustle.

It's so disrespectful, not only to us, but to them too.

I don't understand how their lived, spoken, and recorded experiences can be so blatantly twisted and ignored, and everyone just goes along with it. There's literal evidence and proof, and everyone is like, "no, wrong, next!"

Absolutely, US money and billionaires are a HUGE part of it. If anyone is curious about the rabbit hole I went down, it led to Automattic Inc. They funded the majority of big-tech companies in the past and present (at the time).

I'm sure thing have gotten worse and more "diversified" since then, I just haven't had to the time or energy lately to sink into going down the rabbit hole again.

Follow that money trail u/lovelyspearmint. It's there. As to why Silicon Valley? It's the start-up capital of the tech world, and all the major players have base offices here. This area is a beacon for mass-distribution to the people and internet, which means the world can hear even the tiniest message. If all the investors say "make sure this message is/isn't part of your repertoire", companies will in order to survive, and then eventually the people running it will start believing it themselves since everyone around them is spouting the same. That's the nature of propaganda.

To u/reluctant_commenter's second point, the medical pipeline of ANYTHING in the USA ... it's disgusting. Medical and insurance industries in this country are for-profit, not for-citizens, and cancel culture is causing corruption among even those who swore to be ethical. It all just keeps feeding itself, and TG is the latest nutritional source.

I have no way of proving this anymore, since r/GenderCritical is banned and I didn't save an archive of my comments ... but there was a large discussion thread at the time GenderTrender got banned from Wordpress. It was in 2018, shortly after GallusMag revealed all the dirty details about Jonathan Yaniv.

It was all blowing up among GC circles and on social media, and random people were getting banned from Twitter and Facebook. Users were speculating about what was next.

I looked into Wordpress investors and the portfolios they maintained, which companies and boards they were a part of, and who they had invested in previously. I found a trend and commonalities. Among other things, Facebook and Twitter had been slowly updating their TOS and banning users over the prior year, Wordpress jumped the shark.

I predicted Medium would be the next site to start publicly censoring. Within a month or two, Medium released new TOS protecting gender identity, and started banning users.

Facebook and Twitter went all-in soon after, and stopped being passive and started aggressively making changes. Reddit had already been shitty, but I feel like their narrative accelerated right around then also. The groundwork had already been laid. Opinions that were not pro-TQ+ started being cancelled like an avalanche, and there was nowhere to turn because all the other major companies were doing the exact same thing.

Well, on this topic, anyway. Not so much on other topics. Such as religious pseudoscientific beliefs about how homosexuality is "inherently disordered" or whatever.

The thing is, even if we don't agree with what they believe, they back it up. And they listen to us and engage, and acknowledge our sources too, even when they don't believe in them. We don't have to agree on everything, we just have to find common ground.

It's a little strange to say, but they're allowing us more of a platform to meet in the middle than the modern left is. Maybe it's with bad intentions, maybe it's not, but they're the ones allowing us to speak.

It's kind of a double-edged sword though, right?

I do find it irritating that the character's sexual orientation was phrased as "pan" instead of "bi", but at the end of the day, we can't have it both ways.

Either his character is gay, continuing to perpetuate the stereotype, or his character is Kinsey 1-5, showing that the stereotype isn't always the case and people should open their minds.

I believe gay marriage being legalized opened up some sort of floodgate within many people's minds, and not for the better. They were like "oh, it's cool that people of the same sex get married? That means I can talk about all the shitty things I've been thinking about LGB and stuffing down deep inside, and it's OK now because gay is normal!"

It was a really weird shift in western culture, to be sure. I do wonder if that's a part of why we (as a society) have battles between liberals and conservatives so strongly now. Both thought some shitty things, but I've gotta say, at least conservatives back it up with facts and legalities. Liberals are backing it up with feelings and pseudo-science. Libertarians are an interesting blend of both, but don't have a consistent argument because of a lack of representation.

As to your question:

Why are LGB given the short end of the stick when it comes to creating representational media, when pretty much everyone else is being catered to?

LGB people don't actually matter, we are pawns in political games. That includes media - television shows, live news, articles, etc. It's not even about LGB specifically, we're just a label and statistic that's able to be used now. The tail is most certainly wagging the dog in western countries, and THAT's what our real fight is against.

Instead of asking "why aren't LGB", ask yourself "why trans/non-binary/etc are". And then ask yourself "who and what is doing so".

It will take time, and you will go down a rabbit hole. Recognizing that our media and celebrities are promoting it, that's a good first step. Pick your favorite news company or celebrity, and start digging.

We can, yes, but it's ultimately up to the Admins if they want to do so.

IP bans are getting harder and harder to manage though, with VPNs and public wifi/hotspots. It's not always a guarantee, and can catch innocent people by doing so.

We've never asked for an IP ban because of that. We've just contacted Admins about obvious repeat trolls and ban evaders, and asked them if they can help. Give them the info, and let them do with it what they will.

Speaking of AGPs, there's a sub on Reddit for people who recognize it was because of brainwashing due to fetishizing and sissy porn. It's fascinating, if you can stomach it.

I find it interesting how one AGP points out that if a teenage boy starts jerking off while thinking about woman's clothing, if he goes on the internet with questions, he'll almost immediately be told he's a transbian and encouraged to feed this compulsion full-time. Whereas if this same boy grew up in the 90s, he'd just be a functional adult man with a crossdressing fetish in private.

That's a HUGE difference between then and now, and is definitely true from what I've experienced. I grew up fairly isolated, but when I was more active and out in the world in the 2000s, hetero AGPs weren't accepted in LGB spaces because everyone recognized it was a fetish thing. It was "you do you, but don't do it here, not the right place". You could find them in sex and bondage clubs, but not in strictly LGB spaces.

I removed a thread maybe a week ago discussing this segment. Nothing in the shared article/video mentioned LGB or the impact on us. While we empathize with and support detransitioners, and even have some among our group, we're an LGB sub, not s/detrans.

This post is staying up, however. The difference between this post and the one I removed is OP is specifically calling out the impact on us, and the LGB erasure occurring, even though the original article/video didn't. OP is stating the facts (and lack-of) regarding LGB, and asking for discussion about it.

That's what makes it relevant for us, and it needs to be stated. We run a safe space for LGB users in this sub, but we are not yet in a position to assume the public understands our views or focus.

He might be comfortable with being a gay (or maybe bi) man in time, I can't say. But he's definitely caught up in what "a man should be" right now.

He feels so bad hurting his family and who he loves, even though they won't accept him. So he's calling himself a trans woman instead since that's what all the alphabet men do now. He's hoping that will save him and his family from his own emotions and realizations.

  • "My only daughter said kill yourself, you're an embarrassment"
  • "I didn't want to hurt nobody"
  • "That man in me, I didn't want nobody to know"
  • "I love trans, trans. I''m looking forward to becoming trans, a trans"
  • "I don't like nobody like me"

Rewind the video to 2:16. Watch him saying he loves and is trans, and how much he stutters while saying so. Replay those 5-10 seconds and LOOK AT HIM.

This is terribly sad. A late-blooming gay man is being washed out into erasure. My heart hurts so much for him.

We've thought about Discord, and decided against it as it would be one more place we'd have to mod, and constantly. Modding live chat is a far different beast than modding a forum, and would require A LOT more engagement than we're able to be responsible for right now. Our mod availability has shrunk significantly, and we're just basically maintaining here on SaidIt, barely able to grow the other channels we once were eager and active in and committed to.

We're also concerned about user privacy. Most Discord users have one account, so all of us will know your main @handle as well as your server-specific @handle. Unless y'all prepared ahead of time thinking about that, and created alts just for us, that's kind of a pain for everyone.

We heard rumors in the past that Discord was adminning/banning servers they didn't like based on subject matter. Do you know if there's any truth to that, are they going all "hate speech and content policy" like Reddit, even on private servers?

We're currently thinking of ways to set up some sort of announcement board or site for you all. Nothing fancy, not a website we own or new forum or anything, but somewhere you can bookmark and check if this site goes down to make sure we know, and find out what our plans and next steps are rather than being redirected to Reddit and playing the waiting game.

Maybe we'll just need to finally set up a Twitter, or make a blog or something.

Being a kind of casual, lone-wolf who doesn't really want to talk to anyone anyway doesn't help with the eventual vote kick lol

Ahhh yes, vote kick, I forgot about that. Another way griefers can ruin the experience for people. I eventually stopped playing on dedicated servers at all because of griefers. There was a group of players who followed a well-known Twitch streamer back in the day, and they all made it their mission to ruin dedicated servers as often as possible, even Klei official servers. It was really frustrating, for new players and old-timers, and left a lot of people with a sour view on the game. I went on an internet hunt and managed to get many of their Klei or Steam IDs, and blacklisted them from any public servers I made.

That was it! I still remember sick sims vomiting in corners or planters over and over, and frantically trying to hire janitors. I really liked how there were level progressions, making it harder and harder the longer you played.

You missed the point.

You were in band and did not find it personally rewarding, but your authority figures said you must do it and it was correct. I was in math and found it personally rewarding, but my authority figures said it was worthless and so was I for pursuing it.

These are different experiences, and you aren't understanding perspective.

No, I am not better without schooling. You don't know me, and you don't speak for me.

I'm an adult and I understand the difference between school and education. I grew up before the internet age and I can find education in many, many different areas. I wanted and desired and pursued schooling, and felt good about myself while I did so. Other people took it away from me, and like you, said it was shitty and took up to much fucking time and wasn't worthwhile.

Step back and listen.

Neither of our authority figures knew what was correct for us as people, they were acting on their own feelings rather than recognition of who we actually were. They didn't have the skills to communicate what their opinions actually meant and how they were trying to educate us to be different than what they went through.

At the end of the day, I wish I had just done what I felt positive about instead of listening to them. There were parts of schooling I actively participated in and enjoyed, then was denied. THAT hampered my education, because it hampered my will. Their opinions didn't actually matter, but still shaped my life.

On a serious note, I would have liked to join the math team as a kid. I loved math back in my early school years, and excelled at it. Numbers and logic were my jam, I really enjoyed simple and complex equations, and pushed myself to become better and better at breaking and solving puzzles, as fast as I could.

Unfortunately, my upbringing did not encourage ... well, anything encouraging. Team/group activities were seen as gateways for me become an evil wrongdoer since I was interacting with others and possibly forming my own sense of self instead of abiding by familial authority. I wasn't allowed to do things that might result in independent thoughts and feelings, including math or science or other pursuits.

I was also told numerous times I wasn't living up to my own potential from outsiders. I ended up slacking my way to mediocrity, constantly questioning my own self worth, and am never quite satisfied or content or happy with anything in my life.

Kinda wish I went the way of the math club, tbh.

I mean, he answered his own question in the comments:

I specially need to voice my opinion on this topic because accepting his comment would be the same as saying that a straight guy dating a trans woman can't be called 'heterosexual', which I strongly disagree with.

And I don't want him to justify his orientation or change it, but I don't think it's fair of him to ask trans men or gay men in relationship with trans guys to justify why they think they can be called 'homosexual', or better put why he says he would feel the need call out a trans man dating men and claims to be homosexual

Oh, so now straight men are the authority on what "homosexuality" is?

If I'm in the mood to watch a livestream, I actually do tend to watch DST since there's more going on. I don't prefer it when I play though, I'm OG Don't Starve all the way. I started playing DS in early 2013, and they've become different things entirely.

For me, there's too much management involved in gaming as a group - I often end up in the teacher role, and that takes away from the fun and creativity I enjoy with DS. I used to play DST with select experienced people though, and that was really fun! I didn't have to teach anyone anything, and instead could just be like, "hey, I'm gonna explore and make my way to base as I find it, what do you need me to collect along the way?".

I still remember one time I jumped into an official Klei server (beta days, when they were still password-protected) at dusk, and no one spoke a word to or acknowledged me. Dusk quickly turned to night, and I couldn't find resources for a torch, so I survived by jumping between fireflies. As dawn came, I said "thank god for fireflies!", and then chat came alive because they saw I knew how to handle myself. And then we all just sandboxed together, and let the one OCD guy dictate base layout and placement of everything, while we created little offshoots and survival spots all around the world. That was a really neat server to be a part of, coming back in every day or two, and seeing what creative things we all did and/or how we helped each other massively pwn the world in different ways.

I don't have a lot of recent sim game experience, most of what I've played was many many years ago, on consoles as a teen. I have vague memories of playing the hell out of a sim hospital game on Playstation, if that rings any bells. C:S though, discovered it shortly after it launched and had a blast! It can be played simply to get a sense of accomplishment, or it can be played more strategically, or it can be played creatively. PC players have a huge advantage due to the workshop mods, I do hope they implement some of the quality-of-life aspects into the base game.

Anyway, I set it aside in a mission to not only get through some of my Steam game backlog, but also because of getting hooked on Hearthstone. I have all the DLC and content creator packs, and can't wait to get back into it again. I have so many ideas for little towns and districts to create! My laptop just can't handle it though, it's too intense on cores and heats up my GPU, I've gotta get back to my desktop.

You didn't offend me, and I'm sorry if it came off that way! We don't want to lose any of you either!

Those of us mods who are still here just don't have the ability to create and run a website of our own. None of us have the skills to do so. I'm the most tech-savvy of us, and I know enough to realize that I don't REALLY know anything, LOL

Privacy/anonymity, money, dev, and IT abilities are just some parts of it. There's also making sure we don't cross legal boundaries, someone has to understand and continually monitor that, and make sure we're in compliance locally and worldwide. Someone's gotta focus on marketing and PR, getting our name out there and keeping our message alive.

Each aspect of running a website has to be someone's responsibility, like a team leader/manager in the workplace. Each team leader has to also be dedicated to staying responsible and accountable, not only for their part, but to the greater LGBDropTheT mission. There's also gotta be a point person, like a CEO if you will, who's dedicated to keeping the mission on-track for the team, and answers to shareholders (users and donators).

Creating a site sounds simple on the outside, but it would be a VERY serious commitment, far greater than what even being a mod entails. Modding for LGBDropTheT would be the first step though.

You're not the first user to suggest that.

Is anyone here a back-end developer who knows the ins-and-outs of creating a website? How to create and run a server, monitor attacks, etc etc?

Is any user here willing to put their anonymity on the line, and pay to get a unique site going? Are you willing to get in the line of fire of big tech, and make sure we stay online no matter what? Is ANYONE able to step up and meet the demands?

I mean, us mods don't have the skill to create and run a website, we admit it. If we did, we would have done so long ago. We're willing and open to advice, but you don't get to have that kind of control until you meet our demands and prove yourself.

We get that users need to rant and let loose sometimes, but that kind of descriptive is extremely low on the Pyramid of Debate, and we don't allow dehumanization here.

You're talking about actual people.

Don't editorialize and become the very propaganda machine we're trying to get away from.

Sharing a link to Ovarit doesn't help. They are not an original source, and not all of us care to read through another forum and their user commentary to figure out what's going on.

Politics that aren't impacting us don't have a place here.

Just because it's a trans person saying it doesn't mean it's relevant.

In other words, leave vax/anti-vax identity politics out of this sub. LGB don't care what trans people have to say about it. WE aren't even saying anything about it.

If you care about this particular subject matter Chunkee, make a "lifestyle" post and discuss with the community.

On behalf of all our mods, we missed you all too!

This is the official thread to discuss what went on, and what to do moving forward. I'm temporarily removing our "Why Do You Want To Drop The T?" post to make sure this gets the attention it needs.

This is the second time within a few weeks that SaidIt went down. All of us are concerned about the longevity of this site, and our forum.

Suggestions for what we do as a backup? This IS the backup we relied on, so we need some more thoughts and ideas.

Don't you know Julien, TERF is not a slur and it's not used negatively at all towards lesbians or women, and certainly isn't used towards men now too. I mean, radfems created the term, so everyone else is just using it the same way. Threats and violence are just made up in our heads. IT NEVER HAPPENS.

I'd like to think there is a hint of snarkiness and maybe a little understanding of where we're coming from. I don't put hope into this though, it's just one person and the subtlety may have snuck past the editors.

in an effort to prevent “discrimination”

I noticed the quotes

sexual identity, rather than simply banning discrimination based on biological sex ...

"sexual identity, rather than" ... the wording feels deliberate

may decide to fight the disputes in court for a number of reasons, including to control cost via a medical necessity determination and to prevent controversial medical procedures from being performed in the state

"control cost via a medical necessity" and "controversial medical procedures"

I don't know who the journalist Caroline Downey is, but I think you're right that she probably gets it. If Yahoo as a tech-corporation jumps the shark and starts combating this, I will absolutely eat my words and start supporting them.

They can't because they're soooooooo discriminated against and there are NO social platforms that ever accept them. I mean, these social media sites L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y ban all their user accounts and flood the Admin pool with white cishet gay men who perpetuate the patriarchy by oppressing the brave and stunning ladydiques and frontholers.

they’re very preoccupied with the latter

They're reclaiming the slurs on our behalf and saying it's not hate speech, so that means words are no longer a slur, so we're not experiencing it and everyone loves Iran now, right.

"Todd, you aren't a lesbian" and "Aiden, you aren't gay" is now the absolute worstest things that could ever happen in the history of humanity, and all you LGB people NEED TO GO! SEXUAL 👏 ORIENTATION 👏 DOES 👏 NOT 👏 EXIST!

The Yahoo article glosses over the details. I'm sad that AP News is showing bias, but this article does dig a little deeper:

Biden's administration is rolling back Trump administration orders to what they were in Obama days - insurers and medical care professionals may not discriminate against patient sexual orientation or gender identity.

Not discriminating again LGB and yes, even T, is a good thing! Everyone deserves access to healthcare and life-saving medicine.

But lets be real. This isn't about gay men or lesbians being denied open-heart surgery, or trans men or women being denied appendectomies or gall bladder removals. This is about insurers paying for puberty blockers for kids, oops, I mean adults. It's about cosmetic top/bottom surgeries for 16+, and doctors not being able to refuse because they did it for someone whose life depended on it.

This is setting the stage again for the Equality Act to actually pass in the US. They are trying to change "sex" into "gender identity" and legally punish people for refusing to acknowledge the lie.
