I had a friend in college come out to me as a trans women, then asked to have sex with me because he was still ok with his penis.

I girl I briefly dated transitioned to male. I cut ties before they transitioned because they were acting very inappropriately towards my now wife.

A roommate I had in college transitioned to male years after I cut ties. They were the most miserable, biphobic, control freak I have ever met.

During college another male was in the middle of transitioning to female. I had no real interaction with them at the time but I did run into them after transition. I didn't have any issues.

I met a few TW that were years after their transition. I ghosted one after they went off the deep-end.

I have a distant cousin that's FTM, didn't have much interaction with them tho.

A friend's adult child is currently transitioning or at least trying to figure themself out.

Rebel news is propaganda.

The Canadian military, as well as every other military in the world train with each other on each other's bases during peacetime. It's a strategic method of keeping the peace. It's not some scandal or big secret. Our bases are open to the public, so international delegates aren't getting access to anything the general public can't.

We've sent a team of our officers to China last year to train with their military.

I'm married. I live in Canada.

We have benefits that we'd otherwise not have if we weren't married. Some provinces have common-law marriage as a thing if you don't want to have legal marriage. However the rights and benefits are limited. Fur example, if become incapacitating my wife automatically is my power of attorney and can make medical decisions on my behalf. If we were just common law, she couldn't, my next blood relative would be.

You'd have to look into what benefits marriage provides for you in your country to see if it's worth it. It's more than "just a piece of paper" in some circumstance.

Hayton said they used to be all TWAW no exceptions because that's what was expected, but after discovering Blanchard's work on AGP, their perspective on everything changed. They explain male sexuality and how it influences AGP. They believe that if Blanchard's work was more accepted and AGP was more talked about, we'd have less problems for everyone involved.

[–]Tovasshi[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Overall, no one knows the full answer. But as an autistic person I do understand the body- brain issue. Many austic people don't feel their bodies in space. I myself feel extreme discomfort if my arms are dangling by my sides. It's hard to explain, but often time my arms feel alien to me eviden i look at them because my brain isn't registering that they're mine. A similar phenomenon is experienced by schizophrenics, they're able to tickle themselves because their brain doesn't register that it's them that's touching themself.

A lot of what trans people say about their experiences sound word for word what austic and schizophrenic people say about how they perceive themselves.

[–]Tovasshi[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc are related disorders. There is no single gene associated with the disorder, but a few genes are associated with them. Most people with ASD or related disorders have a combination of these gene varients. Most of the genes are really close to eachother on the same chromosome.

The severity of the disorders or which features one has seems to be predicted by different combinations of these gene variants.

The genes themselves are important in brain development, they're not necessarily associated with sex development despite being on sex chromosomes.

The genes themselves (at least some of them) are used in pruning branches of neurons as they develop, so they don't have too many, or not enough connections in the brain. In layman's terms, they control how the brain is wired.

No two austic, schizophrenic or bipolar person is going to have the exact same varients in these genes, but a group of schizophrenic people will be more similar to eachother than they would be to autistic people.

In this study all the varients they found in transgender individuals are of the same genes associated with ASD, schizophrenia, etc and other neurological developmental disorders. But the researchers came to a different conclusion because the genes are on an sex chromosome.

The study doesn't mention autism, no. But the genes varients mentioned are. They are in the links. It's one of those things though wouldn't pick up on unless you were familiar with ASD research.

The point is non of the test subjects were screened for ASD but had gene varients associated with ASD.

There has lots of research regarding the connection between gender dysphoria and ASD. This genetic study just demonstrated that a handful of the test subjects had similar gene varients as thine with ASD.

Just identify into being gay to satisfy your spouse and save you're marriage.

I have a special distaste yet pity for these women.

Why can't I find any statistics on how many women have been murdered in 2020? by ImPiqued1111111 in GenderCritical

For comparison. In the last 20 years, there have been 2 trans people killed in Canada. One was an intimate partner that didn't know until he was in the middle of having sex and noticed the surgery scars. the other was killed by a non-binary man that knew the victim.

Are there any ways to cure gender dysphoria without hormones and surgeries? (transitioning) by [deleted] in LGBDropTheT

Depends in a few factors. For a very few, tansition does help, but it's not a cure all for all of your problems. The problem recently has been that it's being touted as a cure-all.

There are people who desist through therapy after they explored the root cause of their dysphoria. There's cases of people finally coming to terms with the sexual abuse they've experienced as children and the dysphoria going away from that.

It depends on the individual.

On TRANSGENDER PERFORMATIVITY -- Jenn Smith, transgender, and critic against transgender ideology. by GayNotQueer in LGBDropTheT

For those who don't know, Jenn Smith is a transgender identified male that still uses male pronouns. He credits his childhood trauma for his dysphoria and is highly critical of trans idiology. He's an anti-trans activists that's fighting against medical transition of vulnerable children.

Brain sex is a lie.

Brains are plastic. The last mass review of all the brain scan research on sex and transexualism found that none of the studies could be replicated and often contradicted to eachother. They concluded the brain differences were based on common lived experiences/socialization. A man living in Afghanistan will have similar brain scan as other men in Afganistan, but they won't be similar to men living in Japan.

Sexist slur: check.

Using "fat" as an insult despite promoting "body positivity": check.

Shaming women for masturbating: check.

Definitely an MRA.

Open Letter of Resignation from the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) - Dr James Cantor by Tovasshi in GenderCritical

From the letter:

** I have long posted news items and opinion pieces to SSSS’s member listserv. In July, I posted an essay of my own, When is a TERF not a TERF, challenging the extremism that has taken over public discussion of trans issues, pointing out, for example, that the unwillingness ever to recognize anyone’s transition is different from citing the research suggesting children should wait until age 12 to transition.

A debate ensued, not focused on any argument or evidence submitted, but on whether such discussions should even be permitted. The cessation of open, critical discussion is antithetical to the purpose of a scientific society. Participating in the debate were three SSSS Board members and roughly a dozen general members, expressing a roughly 50/50 opinion **

My last straw for being a progressive trans-supportive gay man by [deleted] in GenderCritical

[–]Tovasshi 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I had a male trans friend go from being into women to being into men.

They explained they think it was because their initial attraction to women wasn't genuine attraction to them, but they had what they wanted for themselves. It was a kind of envy was their explanation.
