What get's me cross-eyed is her 'friend'. What kind of sadist is he to drag her along and even encourage her when it must've been clear that this wasn't going to go well?

groans

Really. What kind of dewy-eyed simpleton, young or not, thinks that "2 months on T / pre-everything else" is the time to show up at a full-on gay sex party. I mean, seriously? A lot of gay men wouldn't want to go to such a party because of body image issues! These kind of parties are an acquired taste as it is and if you have issues with how you look (and gender dysphoria is probably the pinnacle of those), you better have the stomach to get rejected to your face or give them a wide berth otherwise. Even as a man!

Again, seriously? I just can't get over how naive these people are. 2 months on T? Testosterone may be a hell of a drug, but it's not miracle "manly man in 5 minutes"-juice. Whatever you are telling yourself, you look like a woman and you are running around bare-chested at a gay sex party. A party where gay men got together with the explicit intent to have sex with other men.

Honestly, it's fucking rude to show up there as a female born person, FTM or not. The fucking gall! This is the kind of stuff that peaked me. And the people there may not have been explicitly welcoming, but honestly, they should've shown her the door.

(This reminds me of that Dan Savage column where he ripped some straight person a new one who had complained that a female friend hadn't been allowed into a gay leather sex party.)

It's probably an almost harmless post in the grand scheme of trans things, but a few things still irk me:

a) The obvious 'please tell me gay guys will be interested anyway'-undertone.

b) Even though I am effectively a straight woman, I will refuse to date any straight man, because that would be 'invalidating'.

c) "But my chest isn't even that big!"

Also obligatory 'gay men are transphobic!'-replies in the thread.

People who claim that the results of phalloplasty are even remotely comparable to a penis are a) deluding themselves, b) arguing in bad faith and/or c) have never seen and touched an actual penis in their life. And no, I am not talking about some first-stage phalloplasty photos on the internet, I am talking about 'best results'. It's glaringly obvious they are not the real thing. The skin's different, the texture is different, the structure is different. There's veins on a real one, there's a clear separation between glans and shaft. The real one is nothing like the prosthetic a surgeon produces. That's also why the distinction between pre- and post-op trans people is irrelevant.

No shit, Sherlock! Gay man likes a penis, call the police!

Interestingly, a lot of transmascs I've encountered online say cis gay men were worse to them than cishet men ever were.

Maybe because "transmascs" aren't even pretending to be men and men generally won't treat you with kid gloves if they aren't interested in you?

I was a supporter of trans rights, mostly unquestioning. TWAW and TMAM just seemed like innocuous social support statements.

My support for the TQ+ ended somewhere around 2015 when the Emmerich movie 'Stonewall' was released and the TQ+ absolutely destroyed it with their false "it was a trans woman that threw the first stone!"-narrative. You didn't even have to like the movie (Emmerich isn't really a character-driven director and probably wasn't the best man for the job), but the misinformation campaign was so blatant, disingenuous and honestly hostile to gay men and lesbians, that it was an eye-opener. They'd rather destroy a fairly innocent movie about a landmark gay event, directed by an A-list director, produced by an A-list movie company, marketed to the mass audience, than to let go of their trans-washing of history. It galled me.

Around the same time the "It's not transphobic to not date trans people, BUT..."-argument started popping up around the internet and it was then that I was just done.

I'm assuming appreciate here means have sex with.

Of course it does. It always does. "Why does no one want to sleep with me!! I am glorious! GLO-RI-OUS!! Appreciate me! Desire me! Me! ME! MEE!!!"

There's a reason these people turn to attention whoring.

Tthey didn't task, they TOLD us

To be fair, they do ask. Preferably on online forums. Like clockwork. Again and again and again. And again. "Would you date a trans man?" "Am I valid?" "Pre-op trans bro, am I allowed here?"

So, yes: They do ask and they ask so often that people learn that only a no will stop the invasion. And since a simple "no" will usually not suffice, people get more graphic every time.

There's some pushback in the comments, but mostly of the "genital preferences are totes okay though"-type. Only one or two people are actually calling it out as incel logic.

The whole up-/downvote ratios in that thread are interesting. Comments critical of the linked article (which is the usual coercive cotton ceiling crap) are carefully worded, but by actual lesbians and mostly upvoted. Comments praising the article are mostly downvoted. Overall it seems a vast majority of comments are by "woe is me"-transbians and even they seem to notice the incongruity of vote behavior and tone of comments:

"I love how threads like these really show how many lurking terfs there are ready to downvote and bully the trans perspective off the sub"

Of course, they don't have enough self-awareness to realize that by policing people's speech until the sub is on the verge of newspeak, they have driven the silent majority into the anonymity of voting.
