I'm willing to entertain a conspiracy theory about Dorian, but not a 45-minute one.

Reddit is the modern version of "letters from readers" in magazines like Glamour and Cosmo; i.e., they are complete fabrications pushing an narrative or agenda.

There are probably 5 posts by paid operatives for every 1 organic one. And in terms of word count, it's probably like 100-to-1.

Well, yeah, that's exactly how averages work.

I read a great paper once about human information reception of about 7 "units". If you put units together as in letters in a word, or words in a sentence), then you can still only digest about 7 "units" at a time.

I have a hard copy of the paper. I can't think if the title, but I'll try to find a digital copy and link later.

I think you are mistaken: Radio waves travel at the speed of light. Light takes 8 minutes to travel from the Sun to the earth (~93,000,000 miles / 186,200 miles per second / 60 seconds per minute = 8.3 minutes).

A radio signal from the moon would take about 1.3 seconds (~250,000 miles / 186,200 miles per second).

What are the arguments for and against allowing women to vote? by Flesh in whatever

Feel free to refute, discuss, or dismiss. I don't really care.

What are the arguments for and against allowing women to vote? by Flesh in whatever

[–]Theo_Fridall 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

For: all citizens should have a say in how government functions.

Against: Women *may tend to vote as protectees (as if electing a father or husband) or as protectors (as if electing a mother). In either case, the result is larger, more intrusive government.

Side note: I recently realize that Prohibition (18th Amendment) came before Women's Suffrage (20th Amendment). I had always assumed it was the other way around.

Edited for dickheads.

Thanks. I actually googled it in the meantime and found some stuff. I'll have to look into the criminal element too. Makes perfect sense. It's JUST like the Mafia- "We 'caught' you for this 'crime', but we'll let you off and you owe us a favor. We don't know when that favor will be, it might be years, but you will be called upon."
