IF you are still using Reddit, even casually, I recommend using the Brave Browser with a private Tor tab. Also, if you wish to switch accounts for whatever reason, first logout in the Tor private tab, get a new Tor connection, then log in with the new account. That way, they won't be able to tie one account to the other via IP address. I would recommend similar precautions for any Big Soc site.

Those who make their primary living from youtube videos have to realize that if your entire livelihood depends on one arbitrary and capricious company, you are in trouble with less control of your life than an office drone. I can't say with certainty, but I doubt moving to another state would get them off the hook with current lawsuits, or even lawsuits over creators banned when they were still incorporated in California. I would guess the fine print of the TOS at that time had some line about subject to the laws of California, or similar. I agree with the sentiment, but it's unrealistic to think bad-mouthing Reddit is just going to end. It's similar to a bad breakup for many; users who had spent years maybe even a decade on Reddit saw it go to shit, were most probably badly treated. Naturally, they're going to vent, and take delight in pointing out why Reddit is a poor choice. This will fade over time.

I haven't heard of "amp", but programming standards don't make the internet: protocols do, such as TCP/IP and port assignments (21 ftp, 80 web, etc). Sun didn't "become the internet" when it made Java or Javascript, Microsoft didn't with .net or C sharp, and I doubt google will with their programming standard. Also, google is prone to abandon projects, or all but, even after years of development.

Yes, Amazon has bent the knee, but I suspect it's at least partially inspired by fear of being targeted. They gave 10 million to essentially terrorists, but that's a drop in the bucket for them. Considering they have 100s of thousands of people driving around alone with valuable items for delivery, if they got targeted by the mob or even a small percentage of them, it would be disastrous.

Not that their paying up will give them immunity, but I'm sure calculations were made about potential liability and losses if they were singled out as a very visible and vulnerable target. If they believe the nonsense they're parroting, its largely irrelevant.
