I agree with you 100%. These are scary times we live in. I was on a sub today and was scrolling a comment thread and every time someone tried to answer this user’s question, it was automod deleted. There must have been like 15 different comments trying to answer this poor guy and 15 automod overrides. It was then that I noped on out of there and decided to give this site a shot. Woooo, hi! Glad to see you here! I tried to figure out, but big surprise, any comments I found relating to the sub were censored. My only guess as to why it was banned is consumeproduct poked fun at corporations especially big money ones, gave tips on growing your own food and self improvement, and was just anti consumerism including pornography. We made the same mistake on New Years. Instead of a lesbian space it was gay men and drag, and we were the only women there. They were all super cool and nice though. We had our picture taken for a magazine then ubered to the regular lesbian bar instead a few blocks away. If anyone was mad at our presence nobody showed it. It was just good ole gay happiness there!

Today on reddit I posted 3 comments on a post on the front page. They were deleted by mods, and to verify my account, I have to send them a picture of my forearm showing my skin color. If my skin is not dark enough, I don't get approved. by magnora7 in MeanwhileOnReddit

My dad worked in a machine shop with a couple of old school TIMS. They both did MULTIPLE surgeries and all that long longggg ago and are completely convinced that we all believe they are actually women. They have never once flaunted being trans and I doubt they ever will, in fact they fear it and fear anyone thinking they’re not real women. They are both married to men. It’s honestly sad for all involved because you know it’s just gay men with deep rooted internalized homophobia. I’m not concerned of their presence in the slightest I just feel for them.

I think the only way I could wrap my head around this one is, you must not be white. Not all white people are supremacists. I’m white but I don’t rely on other people being powerless as an identity. So I’m not going to re-imagine my “white identity” I honestly don’t even think about my race until I read weird things like this. I do know that being blatantly racist isn’t going to help solve whatever you’re trying to accomplish here. If it makes you uncomfortable and you’ve told her this and she doesn’t respect you enough to avoid causing you discomfort in your relationship with her, then that’s a big red flag. I'm so used to being alone and being the mother friend that I often forget about my own needs and wants until the depression hits and I'm sitting there like " oh....that's right....." and get all upset.

I can’t even tell you how much I relate to this. And I only just realized it was happening again like a week ago. I was giving and giving and driving and helping and answering calls and advising people, family and friends when they needed me and taking care of everyone BUT myself. Until I was so tired, drained, and just heavy, I couldn’t even do that anymore. Let alone take care of myself. I laid in bed and that was pretty much it. I kept thinking “how the fuck did I let it get this bad.. AGAIN?”

Honestly, I still feel like crap. But I’m doing things now. I had a really productive day today so that counts. Still wasn’t perfect but it was something.

I guess I’m just trying to let you know and maybe even selfishly on my part (because inside I’m like whoa! Someone like me!) that I see you. The strong bitch who sometimes forgets to take a moment for themselves and seems so solid and fine to others that they might not think to ask how we’re doing, too.

The past few days I’ve basically had to set pride aside and come to the idea that it isn’t shameful to let the people in your life (family and friends) know you’re feeling low. They care, they don’t want you to feel sad.

Maybe consider putting dating on the back burner for now. Sounds like you may be in need of some self care and self love first and foremost, and friends to make you see it through. Coming from a work in progress in the flesh, and I need to take my own advice so I might just slap on a face mask and drink a beer in your honor. Do not hesitate to message me if you’re feeling down.
