It's always insane. This is the magic or Erdogan. He does the wildlest things and somehow always manages to come out on top.

I think it's clear that these are the forces that are backed by Turkey. They have a history of being armed and funded by them. What it sounds like to me is that your hypothesis is that it was the US that set them into motion to get Turkey in trouble with Russia and strain that relationship? I think if that were the case it would be the USA tricking Turkey into acting against it's own self-interest, this is usually how it works. Who in the state department could trick Erdogan though? I'm sure the USA is involved, but I don't think they have complete control over Turkey, Erdogan probably just sees some advantage to be gained from it.

Wow, the poverty rate in the US increased by nearly 60% between 2021 and 2022 (from 7.8% to 12.4%) and the child poverty rate by more than 100% (i.e. it more than doubled) by RandomCollection in WayOfTheBern

That's probably what this is measuring. the poverty line goes up because its adjusted every year but salaries are not.

these numbers need to be doubled or trippled. The poverty line is 1500/month for a couple and 2500/month for a family of 4. That isn't enough money to buy rent, food, untilities, healthcare, transportation, and education. The "real" US poverty rate, eg people who are having difficulty getting those, is probably closer to 50 percent.

Can look at percent of American families skipping meals, not sending their kids to college, or putting off going to the doctor for financial reasons.
