Essentially, there are a lot of illegal immigrants coming into the US. It's a problem politics have been fighting about for a while now. Some think we need to open our doors to them. Others think that they need to be stopped. The ones who want the open doors, liberals, go against federal law and declare their cities "sanctuary cities" where illegal immigrants wont be deported. Conservatives, who want to deport the illegal immigrants, threatened to move as many illegal immigrants as possible to the sanctuary cities. Liberals are now saying that they don't want that.

One of the things I love about Skyrim is that I can go months without playing, then pick it back up without trying to figure out where I left off. Other RPGs are more difficult to pick up again like that.

Everyone seems to forget that moderation is the key. Eat what you want, just make sure it's in proportion.

Hey magnora7. Can we make a space specifically for political debate? I don't necessarily mind it being all over the front page, but a centralized sub might help foster more discussion. Make sure it really follows the pyramid of discussion and see where we get. Could have a topic of the week. Let people debate a topic for 7 days and see where it goes.

Not to prevent anyone from posting political stuff elsewhere, but just a spot for in depth discussion.

No problem. It's kinda oversimplified, but trying to explain the whole history of the illegal immigrant debate would lead to a novel sized explanation. Yay politics!

Pygmalion is definitely one of the more interesting myths. There are quite a few ways to interpret the original myth! The 'creation from the hands of man' theme seems mainly to predominate in stories of horror or dystopia, despite the fact that the Pygmalion doesn't really have elements of either. Makes one wonder if we've become more jaded.

Another thing that can be done is turning off the NSFW option. That got rid of most of what I didn't want to see without having to change the home tab. It'll only work for one of the new communities though.

A professor held her student's baby while giving a 3-hour lecture so the mother could take notes by SecretlyHistoric in GoodNews

[–]SecretlyHistoric[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not sure if you actually read the article. The professor was a woman who strapped the baby to her back. She was also walking around in front of the class and mother, actively lecturing. Any fondling would have been both difficult and visible.
