The plan is use him to get elected, knowing that he will have to bow out or be removed soon after, then install the black female vice president that the Left will follow without question into the final destruction of the USA, and everyone else will be afraid to question for fear of being torn down for being "racist". He's a political shill at this point. No need for quality. They are running the same game they did last time, between Clinton and Trump, "No one will ever vote for Trump, so let's run a highly politically placed candidate that's pretty much hated everywhere but she cleans up good and will do what we want."

I completely agree. I've spent the last few years trying to move over to ebooks (some audiobooks), but I've reverted almost completely back to physical books. I don't do audiobooks at all, and the only ebooks I get are those that aren't available for some weird reason as physical books (out of print, for example). I'm sorry that I didn't keep the link, but I also read that reading physical books makes the information in them "stick" better in your memory, so you actually learn more/better that way, as well.

I eye-roll articles/assertions/headlines like this, because they set up a myth of "bad/impure/oppressive thing wipes-out/oppresses/pollutes good/pure/oppressed thing" - as if it can ever be as simple as it gets. I'm not advocating or ignoring the need to not wipe out things that shouldn't be wiped out. But I do appreciate that the so-called "good/pure/oppressed" things are rarely just that, and that there are no real "innocents" in this world. For example, sure, dogs with European-continent genes wiped out dogs with American-continent genes. But before that, what species did American-continent dogs wipe out? "None" would be highly unlikely. But the way these articles/assertions are set up, that isn't considered. We're just supposed to boo the "bad/impure/oppressive" things as if they exist outside of space/time and act out of natural-world context.

[–]Scrubjay[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It often seems to me that movies in the last 20 years or so are just remakes of older ones, in one way or another. Nothing new. No imagination. Just take the old version, with the same characters, and then give it a dark twist so it's violent and/or sexually grotesque and/or some ridiculous fantasy. I'm thinking of the remakes of Star Trek that put them in an "alternative universe" as a way to pretend to have more stories by twisting the head off something they weren't good enough to write themselves. Or the current remake of "Perry Mason", where he's no longer a lawyer, and no longer a good guy, and the whole thing is about being grotesque and over the top.

I am not becoming "nostalgic", but I'm also just not finding much of anything of value in what's offered through mainstream / corporate media creators any more.

Don't know where you are, but in the USA you have to go to "vaccine court", where it's as likely you'll get justice as win the lottery, and where you have to swear never to tell what happened, afterwards. On top of that, more and more states are eliminating the option to not be vaccinated due to medical issues - no matter how real they are. Authoritarians and Big Pharma have big reach.

A federal appeals court upheld the Federal Communications Commission's rules that limit municipalities' ability to negotiate with telecom companies such as AT&T and Verizon that are seeking to deploy thousands of 5G antennas on city streets and neighborhoods. Why it matters: The ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is a blow to dozens of cities that sued the agency, claiming the FCC's 2018 rules takes away their leverage and autonomy in deciding how the telecom industry can install "small-cell" antennas to build 5G networks. The other side: The FCC maintains that its rules — which prohibit excessive fees and permitting delays by municipal governments — will speed up the deployment of 5G networks throughout the country by removing burdensome barriers to telecom providers.
