I love the cognitive dissonance. You see in the same paragraph, oh yeah, it's totally fine if you don't want to have sex with anyone for any reason, if you have a genital preference, that's perfectly fine. And them a few sentences later - if you refuse to date trans people you're transphobic.

There was also the ridiculous argument by someone that as long as the sexual act doesn't involve the other person's genitals, it's transphobic to reject a transperson. Like if you only want to receive oral sex, then the genitals don't matter apparently. Wtf, so I'm a straight woman, am I supposed to prove the lack of my homophobia by being open to women giving me oral sex if that's all I want? Wtf?

The sex is clear - male. Semenya has (had) testes and went through make puberty. His body was developed in the direction of producing smaller gametes (sperm), so his sex is male. Now, his body also has a problem with some of the male hormones. I think he can't produce dihydrotestosterone, and dihydrotestosterone is responsible for the testes descending and some other sexual development in utero. That's why he had ambiguous genitalia when he was born but he doesn't have ovaries, he has testes. Not normally developed testes, but testes. And also he produces and reacts to testosterone normally. So he's a male with a birth defect

And high heels are very bad because they're really, really bad for your health, women are ruining their feet, legs and hips for the sake of looking good. Heels are actual oppression because of the health damage they do, I have no idea why so many women deny this. Makeup used today doesn't cause health problems but heels always have and always will. Same thing about tanning - it causes cancer but women are still doing it for some reason.

I think you're confusing liberal feminism with radical feminism. No radical feminist denies the obvious biological differences between men and women. In fact, according to radical feminists, women are oppressed because of our biology.

I'm not 100% a radical feminist but it is the closest ideology to my views. I find liberal feminism kind of annoying. I can't deal with it at all. I disagree with some takes of radical feminism, mostly that all differences between men and women are because of socialization. I don't think that's true entirely, I think I think there's both nature and nurture. I don't have a problem with the differences you mentioned. Include longevity, empathy and aggression in the list.

However, this is not the sub for these discussions.

[–]Realwoman 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Planned Parenthood does provide birth control in fact. And when a woman is pregnant, it's too late for birth control, abortion is the only way to stop her from continuing to be pregnant.

BTW, I really dislike how abortion in the US is limited to specific clinics and how not all OBGYNs provide them. If you don't want to provide abortions, get another specialty. It would be much better if a woman can get an abortion in any hospital/OBGYN clinic, the same way you can get any other procedure. Then the wackos that protest and harass women will not be able to actually do anything because the same doctor that performs abortions gives prenatal care and delivers babies and the maternity wards both provide abortions and take care of pregnant women that carry to term. That's the way it works in quite a few countries.

I saw your other comment and it was rather aggressive, so you might get banned for that, I don't know. I take it you're not a feminist ally. This is a feminist sub. I don't have a problem with you posting your opinions in general and I don't buy that social construct thing is responsible for 100% of the psychological differences between men and women but I think a lot of differences are due to socialization. I found it quite interesting when I met women from Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries (exchange students) wearing a hijab explain how they have way more women in engineering back home and how they are surprised so few of their classmates are women now. I also don't think that you can compare obvious physical advantages when it comes to strength to other areas. But that's not a discussion for this sub, this sub is for discussion within the gender critical feminist community. I appreciate your contributions about TIMs, just make sure you stay on topic. There might be a feminism discussion sub on here if someone creates it.

"There are declarations of her saying she does not want to be called ‘cis’, that she’s ‘a woman’. This is the same argument some men make about not wanting to be called men, because ‘we are all people’."

Where are those men that don't want to be called men? Yeah, I thought so, they don't exist, only TIMs don't want to be called men, but they don't want to be called people instead, they want to be called women.

Sofie Hagen, a Danish comedian who advocates for fat acceptance and women, now identifies as Non-Binary or "trans" as she says. by Jekawi in GenderCritical

Yeah, that used to be my understanding, too, but just like the TRA movement, they're deep in science denial now and claim that weight has nothing to do with health and that morbid obesity is healthy. Also, they claim that calories don't matter and that calorie restriction doesn't work, somehow they all eat 800 calories a day and they still gain weight. Some fat activists have been caught blatantly lying about how athletic they are and about running marathons. They all claim to be healthy but they're either lying or they're still young and the effects of obesity just haven't shown up yet but they certainly will within a few years.

Fat acceptance is not a movement to end bullying. It's a dangerous movement that tells lies and urges overweight and obese people to do nothing to reduce their weight, thus crippling them with serious health problems. Type 2 diabetes amputations are on the rise and guess what is the main risk factor for type 2 diabetes - obesity. I know someone that had their limb chopped off at a relatively young age and trust me, that's a terrible thing to go through and live with. And that's just one of the numerous problems obesity causes. Fat activists are promoting lifelong suffering.

Not to mention the way they often talk about fat women and their bodies. They have a problem with thin women's bodies being viewed as desirable and then they go ahead and do their best to have fat women objectified, too! They don't want to end the objectification of women, they want to include more women in objectification.

You're not "responsible" for your fear, fear is a normal, primal emotion that is absolutely necessary for survival. And you're right to be wary of men because men are dangerous.

I have been followed by men of different ages several times. It was very scary.

Yep, being male means your body is organized in a way to produce smaller gamets, ie spermatozoa. There's no way a male body can gestate a fetus. Not to mention how unethical it would be to create babies in an experiment just so that TiMs can feel better about themselves.

And pregnancy is fucking hard and dangerous, women are not privileged for going through it.

Teaching women to fight back will backfire. The truth is that most men can easily overpower most women and teaching women otherwise is irresponsible. Fighting back should be the last resort, like when there's no other way, kick him in the balls maybe, but it's not realistic to expect that women can fight their way out of dangerous situations.
