Not everyone works from home. Sometimes, especially in rural areas, people have to drive on roads to get to their job, even if it's in the same town.

Now now now, be careful. That's not what you said nor what I was addressing. I was addressing your flawed assertion that poor people would not be able to get jobs if using the roads was an immediate cost, as in a toll.

There are plenty of "poor people" who have access to the "free" roads we have now and they aren't out pounding the pavement desperately looking for a job, they're happily collecting welfare. Something I have to pay for through taxation.

Those other poor people who are looking for a job and have to travel already pay a tax ten times over is what you don't realize or fail to mention. << I can't say because I don't know you that well. You may be a lying pos or you may just be ignorant of the subject, idk yet.

Those taxes/costs come by way of registration and fuel taxes. Something which everyone has to pay, unfairly I might add. The fuel tax attached to every gallon of gasoline and is supposed to pay for the roads but I know that it doesn't, at least in my state anyway, but that's another story so let's, for the sake of argument, just say that it does.

That fuel tax is applied to every gallon of gas to fund the roads, the thought being for every gallon you buy you are using the roads and therefor paying for it. Nope. What about the landscaper who buys hundreds of gallons a year to mow, trim and weed whip? What about the construction site that uses thousands of gallons to run equipment? What about the golf course that runs it's golf carts? and so on and so on. Those people are taxed without benefit.

The "poor" who are going out to work or look for work are already paying these costs, A toll road would actually be cheaper for them.

That's what this guy is trying to get at. Toll roads, while private, are run like a business and the cost of maintaining the road is factored into it. If the road isn't as fast or well kept, no one will use it. We can't say that about public roads. This is what he is after and what you don't see.
