Here is an example of useful information versus fear porn.

Useful information: "The governor of New York has announced vaccines will be mandatory to enter restaurants on Sep 1st. Here are ways you can protest this, and how you can avoid getting vaccinated as a restaurant worker or customer."

Fear porn: "Associate of the Biden admin suggests going door-to-door to vaccinate people. This is tyranny. We are no longer a free country. #1984"

Note how the first post is specific about the details and is about something that has been definitively announced to happen. Most importantly, it provides multiple solutions rather than simply fearmongering.

The second post is about a policy that has been "suggested" by a supposed associate of the "Biden admin". There is no guarantee this will actually happen, and no date on when it would happen if it does. It also gives zero practical solutions to such a policy if it were to be implemented. Posts like these are effectively crying wolf.

If you were truly concerned about a door-to-door vaccination policy, a better post would be "Do you expect a door-to-door vaccination drive to occur within the next 12 months? If one happens, is there anything we can do to avoid it?" This doesn't just raise the issue, but it also opens discussion for potential solutions.

Let me break this down.

to create awareness about the need for action.

This awareness already exists. The dissident right has existed in its current form for at least half a decade, possibly longer. I'd be extremely surprised if anyone on this sub is new to these ideas or needs additional motivation that they are correct.

Is there really anyone here who is unsure that we're in a bad situation that we need to get out of? If so, why?

generate thought about solutions

Thought about potential solutions would be excellent. Unfortunately this thought is in very short supply, and blackpill posts don't seem to have anything to do with practical solutions. If anything they're mutually exclusive - blackpill posts discourage action, dampen enthusiasm, and increase fear.

Take a quick scan of the frontpage of this sub, and note how many posts discuss problems, versus how many suggest solutions or even actions of any kind. Posts about problems completely overwhelm posts about solutions.

saying "whites are too stupid about race to save their race" raises awareness and helps direct people towards tackling it.

I don't understand. A statement like that is clearly fatalistic and discourages any sort of productive action.

If you take that statement at face value, there is no point in encouraging whites to do anything. If you assert that white people are just idiots and cannot be saved, then where can you possibly go from there? What solution can be proposed?

How is a statement like that anything other than demoralizing and demotivating?

Of course some people might give up when failure or problems are admitted but such people aren't going to be effective anyway.

If a community does nothing but talk about their failures and problems, it would be enough to make anyone break over a long enough period of time.

Imagine telling someone "you're going to fail and die" over and over, multiple times a day. For the first few days or weeks they might be motivated to resist. But after hearing this for months or even years, they will eventually succumb and start to agree - "I guess you're right, I will fail and die."

Why do you see that as a good thing to do?

I don't believe false optimism is usually beneficial.

Being realistic is important. Hyperfocusing on the negatives is not realistic.

If you are dedicated to the cause why would you take your ball and go home just because there is not much hope?

Why is trying to drill hopelessness into people who agree with you the goal?

there is no giving up, because a world where the altright loses is a hellscape.

If you work overtime 24/7 to convince people that winning is impossible, and expose them to only the most negative news, then eventually they will believe you and give up by default. If they believe hellscape is inevitable no matter what they do, why bother working to prevent it? Why wouldn't they turn their backs on you and enjoy what time they have?

This makes no sense at all. Again, look at my analogy of wartime propaganda. Every country that has ever put up a fight has used rousing slogans like "We don't stand alone", "God is with us", "We can do it!"

I have never seen a country using a motto like "Our people are stupid and we can't be saved." Why would that work at all?

Just so everyone knows it looks like the original image is a photoshop/parody of this Scientific American article, "Homophobes might be hidden homosexuals." It has the same author, tagline, and date (but the actual publication year is 2012 rather than 2019). Credit to literalotherkin for discovering this.

Also, not saying that elites aren't actually advocating for pedophilia or that they don't use this bullshit argument to further it or other kinds of degeneracy. Abominations like Cuties or DQSH make this apparent. However I don't think they're at the point of unironically using the term "pedophobe" yet.

I think there's a difference between taking a reason-based position like "Many white people intrinsically hate themselves, therefore it only makes sense to support the subset of whites that don't" versus something like "our situation is hopeless, white people are too stupid to be saved."

Even in the darkest of times, there is always something positive that can be done to improve things. Demoralization is merely a form of self-harm, as well as a way to psychologically harm others.

He stated on his Twitter that he had to keep his views secret in real life, and the fact that he had a Twitter at all suggests that he was looking for contact with sane people he just couldn't find IRL.

Look at the top-rated responses to your post. Do those seem like "encouraged" people? No, they are all calling you a demoralization shill.

Maybe you think that you are in the right, and everyone else is in the wrong. But that's like saying "I'm great at communicating, everyone else is just bad at listening." At some point, you have to recognize that your attempts aren't just falling flat, they are backfiring and being rejected aggressively.

I'm not sure if you know this, but when the average person goes to the gym, they often listen to motivational tracks to pump them up. These include affirmations like "You have the power!" "Keep it up!" "Every day is another victory!" "Don't give up!" "Getting stronger every day!" "Have a positive attitude!" Stuff like that. That's what the average person sees as encouraging.

If you go to the gym, do you put on a track that says "You're failing badly," "Every day you grow weaker and weaker," "You look in the mirror and see no progress," "Nothing you've done has succeeded," "Be pessimistic," "Everything you try meets failure"?

People are calling you a shill because you can't seem to understand that.

This poem referenced in Das Boot is pretty good and you probably haven't heard it before: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=274292

Here is an okay translation of the last verse:

Lonely we lay there in the misery of battle;

we knew that everyone was alone.

But we also knew this:

Once to stand before the inexorable,

where prayers are disenfranchised, whimpering to God

is ridiculous,

where no mother looks after us,

no woman crosses our path,

where everything is without love,

where only reality reigns

with cruelty and grandeur,

this makes us firm and proud.

Unforgettable and deeper

it touches the heart of man

than all the love in the world.

And we feel: this was the measure.

This is what I wonder about. What makes California such a center of American culture?

Is it just that it's such a population center? I think that's a big contributing factor, but the explanation may be more mundane: leftists are just better-organized and happen to have their largest institutions located in California.

Totally agree. Everyone should be reaching out to their friends, family, neighbors if they can. Reconnect with acquaintances you think might share your values. Look into normie conservative or libertarian groups in your area if you have to, even someone who is only partially aware is better than nobody.

Doing rash or stupid things does not help, never has.

Start hording meat, water, pasta

We should work on a prepper guide for the best stuff to buy that is inexpensive, lasts a long time, and provides a nutritionally complete diet.

Learning how to operate a radio and having contingency plans for water and power outages will be critical. Knowing bodies of water near you.

Also a guide for basic water filtration and collection systems at the very least.

Power is important but a bit more complicated. Maybe make friends with someone who owns solar panels or a generator. Of course, cars can be used in a pinch with the right adapter, but gasoline will likely be in short supply.

Consider digging into the posts and books that cover these incoming scenarios.

We need more good resources on this, but most importantly, we need them to be stickied or at least listed in the sidebar. Otherwise threads like these are lost after a few days.

Also, thanks for the ending whitepill about living in interesting times.

She Wrote Fake News for Cosmopolitan and Now Regrets Misleading Women on Feminism. The goal? To sell women on the idea that sexual liberation is the path to the single woman’s personal fulfillment. by Chipit in propaganda

Fair point, but there's a big difference between activism based around economics and maliciously intensifying social division like Cosmopolitan did.

For sure, it's not good to stay in that line of thinking, though.

This is the main thing I'm getting at.

There's nothing wrong with feeling a little down sometimes. The problem comes with posting nothing but that over and over, to the point where it overtakes the community. Also, blackpill comments aren't as bad as blackpill posts (although they aren't great either).

Creative Contest #1: What Is Your Beautiful Future?

We wish to build an optimistic view of the future. We believe there is truth in being able to will a positive future into existence through our thoughts–if we know what kind of future we want to create, we will start to act in a way that is conducive towards its unfolding. We do not dismiss the ongoing and upcoming tribulations that we will face. However, we also do not want people to ignore the beautiful future that they can help create. Furthermore, we hope to create a roadmap for future political action, whether at the local, national, or supranational level. We need to develop concrete ideas for what our ideal society looks like. The beauty of creating is in forcing Man to formulate his ideas in a genuine way.

It's incredible how similar this is to my post here.

Do you know how submissions are supposed to be made? I guess through e-mail? I might make one

Clearly they have a vested interest in promoting this idea that especially Iran is just begging to embrace liberal modernity and throw off the hated ebil Mullahs.

This makes sense.

An honest question to the pro-vax people on this sub, why do you trust the state on the vaccine issue? by casparvoneverec in debatealtright

[–]Ponderer 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Short of getting an extremely good quality water filter for your home, you still end up showering in it even if you change your regular drinking water.

We ought to have discussions about this on this sub.

One article I've just read suggests that an activated carbon filter can remove some phthalates, but not necessarily all. A nano-filtration system would be more expensive but also more effective. Carbon filters, at least, are commonly available for showerheads.

When you think about it, that's going to make its way into the foods you consume as well.

Growing your own food and raising livestock could mitigate this, unless phthalates can make their way into rainwater (which I can't find any information on).

Eating organic food could also help reduce some exposure.

it's all bog standard crazy schizo shit just substituting in 'Covid' and 'vax' around the usual format of the 'NWO genociding everyone apart from 500 million' theory.

This is what bothers me, and it feels cut out of the same psyop cloth as "5G causes coronavirus".

I don't trust the vaccine, but I don't believe it will cause millions to drop dead. And in a year from now when they don't, the libtards are going to all point and laugh at the conspiracy theorists who predicted they would. The conspiracy theorists themselves will feel confused and ashamed and maybe even abandon their more reasonable beliefs. It's a huge psyop on both sides.

I agree with this.

A lot of people here hate libertarians, but there's something to be said about the "charter cities" they're attempting to create in third-world countries or in international waters.

Was the car a positive or negative development for society? by Ponderer in debatealtright

[–]Ponderer[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Oh, I totally agree things would be screwed if we run out of gas now. But that's mostly because we've already built our society to be dependent on it.

Before the car, most people lived on a farm. Combined with their local community, they were more-or-less self-sufficient. Not being able to travel to the next town over would deny them access to specialized goods like medicines, but they would still have necessities like food and water. That's not the case today.

I wish I knew more history about this, specifically relating to stuff like Communist regimes. Surely there were some nomads in Siberia or whatever that the Politburo didn't deign to notice?

Living isolated out in the boonies may even be more dangerous than the relative anonymity of a town or a small city.

This is also a concept that interests me. I suppose it depends on how strict things get and what's demanded of the average person.
