Humans are more prone to conflict and destruction than surviving by co-existing (tbf all animals try to ascert dominance in the food pyramid; but we seem to push our luck).

It is only a matter of time, probably millions of years, before "natural selection" eliminates our species enirely (I'm not an expert in "specieology" or whatever it is called, I do not remember at the moment).

I think he saw a pattern. There is a common idea that if one person or a small group of people have too much power, they might become corrupt. Similarly, certain patterns exist which are likely to occur in specific contexts even if that context exists in a system with variations (like time difference from medeival time to the present time). Some examples of his "stories" coming true are the Newspeak, Animal Farm.

Human history gets erased when libraries are attacked- Library of Alexandria, Nalanda University Library, etc. One thing that everyone needs to acknowledge is that mistakes will be repeated if you forget history. With my limited knowledge, I feel that by removing the statues of Columbus, you are more likely to forget how the lands were colonised. That is probably not entirely true since libraries exist along with other sources (which will also probably be removed from existence eventually)

Considering the context, I believe the article is in response to the news reporters' "unpleasant" interaction with the police amidst protests.

It is reasonably ethical to use one's power to protect themselves from unjust harm.

To clarify your statements and avoid unnecessary conflict- when you say the press has lied with malicious intent, are you generalizing the entire press as a medium or are you addressing any specific organizations, if so, which ones? What is your definition of "left-wing politics" and who or what do you consider to be a part of it? Which fight are you referring to and how do you conclude they did it themselves? Who exactly is "people"?

If we never try, and if we stick to YT just because it is more convenient, we end up supporting YT rather than finding an alternative. This is my philosophy. I reduced using YT and i use it only when i cannot find desired content elsewhere.

Well, it would work if we were not emotional beings. Emotions are a result of evolution and it is unwise to live on reason alone without emotions balancing it. Emotions discretely try to help us survive by forcing us to want to seek help. Emotions are essential for survival. That being said, I agree with you to an extent. We should keep our emotions in check and not let them influence us to an unreasonable extent.

I own my life, not them.

It's not that simple. We humans are co dependent; we drastically depend on other people for our betterment. If one person dies, it affects all those who were depending on them either directly or indirectly. That being said, your life is still yours. You have free will and you can choose what you want to do with it.

That's not how you interpret it. "Accomplishing a task IN A DIFFERENT MANNER". Take the example of moving from a place to a higher ground. People without legs require a ramp for their wheelchair as opposed to people with legs using stairs. The task is to get to the higher ground but the way it is accomplished is not the same. Does that make sense? It's about using different means for one same (or similar) end.

The term "differently abled" is used as a substitute for disabled or handicapped. "Differently abled" emphasizes the fact that many people with disabilities are quite capable of accomplishing a particular task or performing a particular function, only in a manner that is different from people without the disability.

Most critically, the U.S. government has now issued a legal document that formally declares that collaborating with government sources to receive and publish classified documents is no longer regarded by the Justice Department as journalism protected by the First Amendment, but rather as the felony of espionage, one that can send reporters and their editors to prison for decades. It thus represents, by far, the greatest threat to press freedom in the Trump era, if not the last several decades.

I agree, collective punishment is prohibited according to Article 33 of Geneva Convention. However, why does our first go-to option have to be punishment? Positive reinforcement is better than negative reinforcement. We need to educate the people and improve the quality of the Government in order to make the nation better as a collective.

As of the "how to approach/implement" scenario, lets take an example - hate speech-- We need to find the source or origin of this behaviour and change that in people from an early age - like teaching kids to be accepting of all peoples. Similarly, we need to understand the problems in a rational and logical way and deal with it at the origin point to prevent it from happening.

PS: The society has a major influence on how people feel and think on a daily basis. Therefore, society and the Government must be held responsible (not necessarily in a negative way). As another example, if a person is depressed, it is very likely that her depression was caused by external factors more than internal. Therefore, the society (and Government) must be held responsible for her mental health (at least to an extent).

For example, if you see someone being mugged but you do not help the victim, then you are being neutral. Another similar saying is "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything".

When a citizen commits a heinous crime, I think it should reflect on the country/Government also because the country (probably) did not raise the person properly.

Then don't try to earn money from it

Indie devs are not full time developers. There are many kinds of reasons for them to not patch the bugs. But this is a good point to focus your debate on; encouraging devs to patch the bugs after release. Can you give some examples of indie games with bugs (if any)? I would like to check out what the devs are doing about it.

I think I have rights to choose the person I debate with.

Sure you do. I asked you reasonable questions that will help you strengthen your case but it's your choice if you don't want to support your argument with facts.

Historically, the most terrible things - war, genocide, and slavery - have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience. by [deleted] in Memetics

War is fueled by patriotism. Genocide (Hitler era for instance) was fueled by the paradigm that a race is superior. Slavery was fueled by the paradigm that one race is superior to the other. All these things are justified by those committing it. Similarly, in our context also, things will be justified by those committing it. It is all they need - a justification.

NH 'measles' case was likely reaction to vaccine, state health officials now believe by dcjogger in news

Just look for the source of the news and it will eliminate half the doubt. The news has to come from a reliable and credible source. Yahoo News also says it was just a reaction and not the actual disease.

Indie games are developed by one guy or very few people. "Indie" means individual. Most of them are not experts, that is why indie games are not always perfect. And like I said earlier, they are usually just learning to make games more than trying to achieve perfection.

No thanks

If you don't explain your problem, your argument is pointless. You did not say anything solid in your post, you are just ranting without support of facts. Stick to the pyramid of debate.

I'm gonna go ahead and play the Devil's advocate. Please explain your concern better.

video gamers is the group deeply believe themselves are the target of elites???

Can you give examples of said groups and elites?

Paid shills explain everything

Very few streamers are directly paid by the game publishers and it is not a secret; rest of the streamers get ad revenue and/or donations from viewers.

evil cult like fan base

What do you mean "evil"? Can you give examples of said "evil cult" fan bases?

pixel games could be good games

"Pixel art" art style is not as easy as it sounds. If the graphics are relatively lower in quality, the game designers compensate by making the best gameplay experience possible - that is why pixel art games are "good". Large scale publishers focus on both graphics and gameplay but mostly emphasize on graphics because they want the game to look good and realistic - thanks to high-end computers. Console games like Uncharted, Spiderman, RDR2 are relatively more fun because they focus on gameplay experience more than on graphics.

"Is "love"(may without money) making a good game"

They are not wrong, they do want to make a good game but the commercial aspect does not allow them to. Their deadlines are tight and they are forced to make things which feel more like commercial item than a gaming item (Fortnite for example).

personal attack anyone who dare give a bad review

Could you give any examples of said personal attack on bad reviews?

game industry paid a lot to promote this kind of evil cult like fan base culture.

Publishers pay streamers yes, it is not a secret; but again, what is evil? Please provide examples.

shooting enemies with a middle east face to die

If I was making a game and showed my own country as the bad guy, I might have to face legal action for not upholding the integrity and prosperity of my country.

They make the semi-finished game, and then they just ...gone

"Indie" - it means "individual"; typically one or very small group of developers. They are not an organised experts - it is no surprise most of them quit halfway. There can be many reasons for indies to quit - like not having time or resources or money, etc. More often than not, their objective is to gain experience and launch at least one version of the game, not to make the perfect product (unless they have that kind of time and knowledge)

most of the characters of the game had bipolar disorder

What's wrong with that? They just made a game inspired by a real life thing. Did you know that movies like Beast and Beauty, King Kong, V for Vendetta, etc. highlight Stockholm Syndrome?

you can find many child porn in the fan art of it on Tumblr

How is that the developer's fault?
