Yeah, I'm with you on this. I myself used to be all polite about it. But now I force myself to NOT be polite: to NOT refer to TIMs as women, or even transwomen.
It does seem like there's a pattern for many of us. We hit our very first level of peak trans. We still try to be polite with the pronouns, but then eventually we just see toooooo much. We see that the "slippery slope" is not a fallacy in this landscape. And we realize that our "niceness" is a weakness that has been and is being used against us.
I recently had the pleasure of watching Heather Heying -- who is about as nice & diplomatic of a person you could imagine -- jettison her niceness while she and her husband were discussing a TIM in a girl's locker room. Bret was trying to be all diplomatic and polite. But Miss Heather was NOT HAVING IT. While Bret was treading carefully, calling the guy an "individual" and what not, Heather just kept referring to the culprit as a dude. I love seeing women when they finally plunge full-force into righteous battle.

How to use archive.today. First, bookmark it as a favorite so you can get to it quickly and easily: http://archive.vn
Next, pick one of the 2 options:
1. Red box “My url is alive and I want to archive its content”.
2. Blue box “I want to search the archive for saved snapshots”.

Red Box/Archive something:
If you’re pretty sure the content has never been archived choose the red box.
Paste the url into the blank space and hit “save” (on the right).
(Sometimes it saves it within 10 seconds. Sometimes you wait in a queue and it’ll take a minute.)
It creates an archived version (actually both a webpage and a screenshot).
Just copy the url of this archived version and share. (Or don’t. But at least it’s archived.)

Blue Box/Looking for content that may have been archived:
Say you click on a link where the content was deleted or it’s behind a paywall. You can copy that url & paste it into the blue box blank space and hit “search” (on the right).
If you’re lucky, someone will have archived it, and the content will show up.
If you’re not so lucky, archive.today will send you to 4 other options where you can search: Google Cache, Archive.Org, WebCite, Megaladon. Very often I can find the content through one of these other options.

And that’s archive.today. It’s really a wonderful resource, and it only gets better with the more people who use it.

Gavin de Becker spends a portion of the book talking about how women are socialized into being polite and accommodating. Predators know this and will use it to their advantage. We need to give ourselves permission to be rude so that we don't end up as victims.
We also need to follow our gut instincts. They evolved over thousands and thousands of years for a reason and we ignore our gut instincts at our peril.

This is a valuable perspective and a good reminder. I never liked Ellen's show and the totality of the things I've heard about her do not make me feel sorry for her. However, you are absolutely correct that women are held to different bullshit standards than men. I see it all the time and I've seen it for decades. As a young woman I came to see that women in the workplace were assigned roles like "bitch", "mom", "flirt". It's been galling to see how men can just "be". They don't have to constantly check themselves or their words or their demeanor.
I guess one final point though is that we should be careful to not give "get out of jail free" cards to people based on their "intersectionality". To me, Ellen was too much of a shitty boss to get a pass because she's a woman. Man or woman, I wouldn't want to work for someone like that. So I'm not going to defend her. But like you say, you just don't hear these types of stories about male celebrities--mainly because it's "OK" for men to act like "bitches" (ha!).
Anyway, thanks for this good food for thought. It is absolutely worth pondering.

Interesting read. Most of this article covers ways in which regulations and our tax dollars pay to incentivize and reward private car ownership.

In the U.S, (if you don't live in somewhere like NYC), you are really screwed if you don't have your own car. Recently, as I drove across a local bridge, I was thinking they should re-name it "Poor People's Bridge" because I see more and more people who are obviously poor and/or mentally ill walking across the bridge to get to and from a supermarket. Those poor fuckers. How do they ever get enough money to buy a car, register it and insure it? You need halfway decent income for that - but to get that income you need to get to and from a job - and for that you need a car. That is a rough situation.

Joe Rogan Experience #1520 - Dr. Debra Soh by DR373737 in GenderCritical

[–]Oof_Too_Humid 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Dr. Soh doesn't seem to be overly concerned about the damage that porn can do. Imagine young girls today whose first impressions of sex are what they see in porn? It's got to be incredibly scary and disturbing--enough to make you not want to be a woman.

That’s why I was glad that Joe Rogan pushed the reality of porn addiction when Dr. Soh dismissed it. It was kind of funny because his insistence could have been viewed as mansplaining. Here’s a non-expert guy pushing his ideas about pornography on a woman who is a sex researcher. But porn addiction is a real problem. I believe that porn addiction, and in particular, sissy hypno porn and forced feminization porn has led to the explosive growth over recent years in the number of autogynephiles. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at /r/TGandSissyRecovery/. It’s a sub for men, (thousands of them, often very young), struggling to pull out of that nightmare world. They can’t even go to therapists because the majority of therapists will just tell them they are trans and to just accept that. So that sub is one place where they can turn for help.

I’ve wondered why there isn’t more talk about the damaging impact of these types of extreme porn and specifically, how it’s "turning" many teenage boys and men into autogynephiles. So, it was at least illuminating to me that Dr. Soh, a sex researcher who has issues with trans ideology, doesn't even seem to consider porn to be a major area of concern.

I’ve also noticed that many GC women dispense with the issues of porn addiction and autogynephilia by reacting with disgust and anger. I get that. But we can’t just throw these issues onto the “pile of problems with men” and move on. If this is one of the reasons why a trans wave has suddenly swept over our culture, we must stem that tide by addressing where the ever-increasing TIM population is coming from. So, I reiterate, I loved that Rogan argued why he believed that porn addiction exists.

Furthermore, I think it's wonderful that Rogan keeps talking about transgender topics. Many radical feminists don’t like him for a variety of reasons. But if you look at the big picture—he’s saving children from being pushed onto the trans train. Between his recent interviews with Abigail Shrier and with Dr. Debra Son, and all the other times he's talked about transgender issues (and taken them seriously), he is raising awareness to an absolutely huge number of people. He's not perfect, and he certainly makes a lot of mistakes, (like for a while he kept using the term TERF, not realizing that it is offensive). But he's curious, he's learning and he's helping so many other people to find out what is happening. I absolutely believe that there are parents out there who, thanks to Rogan, now know that there are serious dangers involved in allowing their kids to "transition" (even when a doctor recommends it!), that they need to ask questions, that they need to be very wary of it, and that they are the last line of defense in protecting their children from going down a horrible path.

Numbers. I'm looking for numbers and data. I've actually started arguing IRL and they want numbers for proof. by Oof_Too_Humid in GenderCritical

I agree--I doubt the sincerity of the questions, and I'm sure that when I have answers they'll just pooh-pooh them anyway. But, I'll keep researching since it certainly can't hurt to know more and spread that knowledge around. I will go to 4thwavenow.com and see what I can find. (I've been there before and really like it, I just haven't been there on this particular mission.)

I've got an idea for a strategy for dealing with required "gender diversity" training at work. by Oof_Too_Humid in GenderCritical

But I'm a woman. So, if push came to shove--I bet they'd try to make me prove that I was "AMAB".
That's why I'm thinking "gender-fluid" (it is SUCH NONSENSE!):
"I was AFAB and eventually I realized that I'm actually a man because I never wanted to be a mother, I keep my hair short, I don't shave my legs, and I don't wear makeup. At some point, however, my love of cooking, my empathy for others, and the fact that I cry sometimes led me to understand that very often, I'm still a woman. That's when I knew that I'm actually gender fluid."

I didn't want to just delete my account and leave reddit years of content the I found or wrote. They don't get to have that. However, I've edited my history down to just 3 or 4 pages now and I do plan to leave a few things for "innocent" redditors by deleting the account altogether.

Well, it finally happened...I got cancelled for speaking out against the banning of r/GenderCritical. by sun-spotted in GenderCritical

That's an excellent observation, and a very clear explanation (from a U.S. perspective.)

Some toy manufacturer should create a transgender transformer. by Tom_Bombadil in C_S_T

Could be a boring toy.
To be transgender, a man only has to say "I'm a woman", and voila! -- he's a woman. No sex change necessary. No medical treatment needed. Suddenly a free pass to walk into battered women's shelters or women's changing rooms at the gym. Hey, let's let that rapist put in for a transfer to the women's prison because now he says he's a woman. Because...rights! I'm looking forward to the Olympics. I can't wait to see people's reactions as they watch men winning many of the women's medals. Then they can enjoy it even more when their daughter excels in high school track and field but loses a college scholarship to a boy who competes as a girl. Fun times.
