The arbitrary vapor size argument again. You realize the CDC recommends covering your face for both Flu and Covid 19. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/actions-prevent-flu.htm 3. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Flu and other serious respiratory illnesses, like respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), whooping cough, and COVID-19, are spread by cough, sneezing, or unclean hands. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-guidance.html

"40-80%" Asymptomatic and presymptomatic carriers are able to transmit the virus. Infact, presymptomatic carriers have higher viral shedding. Which is the reason people should be taking precautions, because how would you know who has it, right?

To "imply" it's just a flu is being willfully ignorant. They are genetically different and attack the body differently. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354220300528 They may exhibit similar symptoms since they are respiratory illnesses. But covid patients have shown to have lasting damage to not just the lungs but other organs in the body. There is still much to learn about the virus and it's long term affects. https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/26/from-nose-to-toe-covid19-virus-attacks-like-no-other-respiratory-infection/

We didn't have as clear of a picture in April as we do now. To dismiss everything about it is reckless. At least we can agree to promote common sense.

For every contrarian article posted online there are dozens of others which support using preventative measures. Beware when people use phrases like, "absolutely" followed by what they are trying to sell you.

It's ridiculous, some will claim their freedoms are oppressed. Ignoring there are mass protests going on and people aren't wearing masks and it's LEGAL. Masks are just another thing to cry about in 2020.

That smoke through the mask gif people use as "proof" just shows how the vapor is dispersed near the wearer. Which is the point for social distancing.

I'm with you on the mass surveillance thing.

The irony of posting that while being intellectually dishonest. We live in a time when its more dangerous to wear PPE than not during an outbreak of a novel virus. Cooperating with your community and the greater good is viewed as slavery and ignorance. Hopefully, the virus dies out on its own and through the millions of people putting forth an effort to stop it.

EDITED: You've been arguing its being spread by vapor. If thats the case its infection rate would be exponential higher. Then you go on to say it's just a flu = transmitted by droplets.

It's inconclusive about aerosols. If we go down the rabbit hole of Prof. Boyle's hypothesis, that the virus is a bioweapon. Meant to be spread using nano technology, it is plausible. He makes an interesting argument that Covid19 is a combination of MERS/SARS/HIV.

Do you even read the articles you keep posting? They say there is a possibility for it being airborne. Based on RNA collected in hospital floors, these incidences show traces of virus so low its doubtful they have the out shield and/or spike proteins to infect a host. That article goes on to say masks are useful in limiting the spread of virus.

By the time people are showing symptoms or have a positive test they should be isolated anyway. There are studies showing viral shedding to be highest just before symptoms appear. And the mutated spike G614 variant being more infectious is a cause for concern.

You ask if I'm frightened of Covid. I'm worried a bunch of lazy idiots are going to force the government require everyone a vaccine and bio passport.

Simply practicing good hygiene, PPE, and social distancing is the least we can do.

Wouldn't it be ironic, if you really lose your freedoms because you refused to wear a mask. I mean they literally want to microchip people with the ability to keep you shut out of society. Look at New Zealand, people were smart enough to cooperate and eliminate the virus. Yet here we are leading the world in cases and deaths.

Your first sentence is wrong. Infact your whole reasoning is wrong. The virus is transmitted on respiratory droplets which are >5microns travelling up to 1 meter. People erroneously think the virus is .12microns therefore facial coverings dont work. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Freflectionsipc.files.wordpress.com%2F2015%2F12%2Fdroplet-airborne-direct-and-indirect-contact-figure_final.jpg%3Fw%3D700%26h%3D525&f=1&nofb=1

You say most people that were wearing masks were getting covid. Prove it, because I can play that game too. Most people that weren't wearing masks got covid, but more importantly it was the people who didn't wear masks that help spread it. Here's proof: Georgia camp with COVID-19 outbreak didn’t require masks https://apnews.com/6bde87b6c7d3276208c439901af71650 Four of largest ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks in Colorado are in prisons, jails https://www.denverpost.com/2020/07/29/colorado-covid-outbreaks-prisons-jails/ Public Health Responses to COVID-19 Outbreaks on Cruise Ships https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6912e3.htm etc, etc...

As for the rest of your post, I've already addressed how the virus is spread and the efficacy of masks before. Keep convincing yourself protection is harmful, it does nothing to improve the situation and maybe one reason we will have a forced vaccine.

My condolences to your family members who died while supporting masks. You do realize the purpose of wearing masks is to prevent yourself from spreading the virus, right? Since many carriers spread it without knowing they even had it, it was an easy policy to say "wear a mask in public".

Yes my source being academic training and working in the field. On common sense, didn't your momma teach you to cover your mouth when you sneeze and to wash your hands?

It's funny how on any given day the CDC are liars, but you want to link me an article they hosted from Chinese doctors, no agenda I'm sure. Dr. Meehan contradicts himself from one sentence to the next. "Although surgeons do wear masks to prevent their respiratory droplets from contaminating the surgical field and the exposed internal tissues of our surgical patients...The CoVID-19 pandemic is about viral transmission. Surgical and cloth masks do nothing to prevent viral transmission. " His main argument being, most people don't know how to wear masks.

https://www.health.com/condition/infectious-diseases/coronavirus/what-is-ppe

"A sneezing or coughing person will cover their mouth, get it all over their hand, and then touch something that you then touch," Robert Murphy, MD, an infectious disease expert at Northwestern University, tells Health. The virus can then gain entry into your body when you touch your own face, he adds. Simply being near an infected person who coughs, sneezes, or talks can expose you to their infected respiratory droplets, the CDC says.

You may notice in any case where there are symptoms or positive diagnosis masks are required. Currently, it's now known asymptomatic people can spread the virus. If you feel masks are ineffective that's on you.
