Not really. No more or less than applying for a job or opening a bank account, but they do run your background check and are aware that you purchased a gun. In my state, my CCL allows me to skip background checks altogether and I can buy guns in cash, so the only record of transaction is in the hands of the FFL (or mine or not at all with face-to-face purchases). The full stream is 45 or so minutes and the reactions from the chat and his family walking in were heartwrenching. The mom was out picking up the younger siblings and walked into the scene just as the short clip above ended.

In the full, you hear more the freaked out online chat, see and hear more of the mom's reaction, hear the kid's reaction, and hear the entire phone call with the dispatcher before the police show up to the scene and check it out. At some point someone flips the camera over, and eventually someone cuts the stream entirely.

They were large, flew low, fast, straight, and silent over my old house. F16s regularly flew just as low over us. The third was also at that house, that one was an erratically-flying, high altitude "red orb", in the middle of the night. The last one was also erratically-flying, but it was metallic silver. Shape was difficult to make out, but I caught that one on camera at my mom's house a few years ago, cloud-height, mid afternoon. None of those scared me at all.
