Everyone with a TV who watched broadcast TV has to have a TV licence. The flip side is the BBC doesn’t have adverts and can produce shows that commercial broadcasters wouldn’t.

The BBC is funded by a licence fee levied on every household that owns a TV (£159) a year, the BBC is set up to be independent of Government and has a Royal Charter that is supposed to guarantee its editorial independence and impartiality.

OFCOM is the UK independent regulator of TV services, telecommunications and radio and among other things is supposed to make sure that public service broadcasters like the BBC maintain impartiality and that the BBC specifically adheres to the requirements of its Royal Charter - it answers to Parliament.

Stonewall successfully infiltrated the BBC, its regulator OFCOM, Parliament who is the regulator of OFCOM, the political parties who are elected to parliament and the UK Civil Service who are the body that carries out the policy implementations under the direction of HM Government.

These days Pride marches appear to be more about having a massive piss up with some of the most cringeworthy and shame inducing people I have ever seen. They seem to be more attended by straight people bringing their children to view what has become a modern day freak show of people in full gimp gear, pup fetishists, furries, and ‘queers’ whose only oppression seems to be their neon green hair and pierced tongues, and that they’re going to have to wait until they are 25 before they can access the trust fund. Yesterday, Stonewall Scotland took to Twitter to deny that they support the lowering of the age of consent. The accusation was prompted by the discovery of a shadowy conference paper which appears to open the door to child abuse. The document was signed and promoted by ILGA World, an international organisation of which Stonewall Scotland are members.

Supporters of Stonewall Scotland have suggested this is a cynical attempt to link LGBT groups with paedophilia; a modern manifestation of the smear that gay men are more likely to abuse children. But underscoring claims and counter claims is a morally repugnant document that has been promoted internationally by well-funded bodies with links across the world.

Transmen, as we know, are female and they do not have the same commonality of experiences as gay men do. They will never know what is it’s like to be a man who is exclusively attracted to members of the same sex. Heterosexual or bisexual females, which is the category that transmen themselves fall into, do not have the same experiences as us. Our sexual orientation and our experience as gay men is not a costume you can put on or take off at will, and while my heart genuinely goes out to transmen and their personal struggles, as gay men we have absolutely no reason to give up our spaces and nor does anyone have the right to pressurise, harass, gaslight, or guilt trip us into doing so.

Ordinarily, I don’t agree with writer Douglas Murray on many things but he does have at least one aspect right; we really are living in a demented time where reason and rationality have left the room. It should be simple enough in 2021 to talk about gay men and know people will understand what is meant by the words, particularly after 60+ years of LGB activism.

It was 1993. I dropped in to see a friend, and on the wall of his typically disordered student bedroom was a poster against homophobia. Women kissing women, men kissing men. Standard stuff, you might think. But one detail flipped my mind. At the bottom was the legend ‘This campaign is supported by BBC Radio 1’.

This was a positive, welcome move. Just a few years earlier one of the station’s top DJs had been cracking AIDS gags. Radio 1, at least in the daytime, had tried (and sometimes succeeded) to ignore and exile to the margins any musical act that was a bit too gay. Now they were on board.

Gareth Roberts is best known in the UK for writing several episodes of Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and Coronation Street. He was and an early cancellation by the TQs because he tweeted wrongthink.

I have long argued that the relationship between lesbians and gay men is a bit like that of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. We fall out, disagree, and eventually get back together again when we realise we need each other.

And right now, we need each other. Lesbians have become the targets of extreme misogyny in the guise of progressiveness, and gay men are starting to speak up in our defence, which, in turn, puts them in the firing line. As well as this, our movement is morphing into an Alphabetti Spaghetti of identities that is more focussed on narcissistic personalities than politics.

In the game of thrones of gay politics we have our own seat forged of weapons with many pretenders to it, the iron throne that is the word “queer” from which those with dubious claims to real homosexual lives can rule the seven kingdoms of victimhood and identity politics.

For many of us, the word “queer” was an integral part of the soundscape of real hatred that got us beaten up, sacked and bullied – for years we were “dirty/filthy queers” who had “queerboy” shouted at us as we anxiously left pubs in groups for safety. As words go, it’s a sharp blade, the wounds it leaves are messy lacerations that don’t heal neatly rather than clean surgical cuts. Strange it is then, that a word which was an essential piece of architecture of social hate is now contorted like an Escher staircase to nowhere where up is down, left is right and being “queer” is now desirable.

I posted this on response to a “it’s all 4chan waaaaaa” post in the superstraight subreddit.

This has been debunked so many times that it’s just pathetic that you’re continuing with it.

4chan are trolls and they claim responsibility for nearly everything and try to claim nearly everything is a Nazi plot and weak not to bright people like you fall for it.

Why not address the issue that lots of people, straight, gay or bi, are sick of being sexually coerced by people enthralled by the gender identity pseudoscience?

Our sexual orientations are not hate, and are not dictated by your (unknown to us) internal sense of ID.

If you ban this sub and try to silence this the issue that created it won’t go away, it’ll just fester, become bigger and more extreme, and then comeback.

The TQ need to start listening to what the LGB and now the S are saying.

Instead of taking note and listening to what is being said, LGBTplc pushed back and instantly went on the attack. Perhaps it is because they feel like they must stamp this out because deep down in the back of their heads they might be starting to realise that they have pushed this too far with the wrong group of people. Maybe they realise that if they let this one go, they might not be able to gaslight and coerce the straights in quite the same way that they have been doing to LGB people?

Daniel at Sea is your first novel. Can you tell us how the story came about?

It’s hard to say when the first idea for this book came to me; it’s more like an accumulation of thoughts and ideas gathered over the years, collecting in my mind, and sometimes getting mixed up with other stories. The characters came from my imagination, although my shrink would definitely argue that these are idealised forms from my subconscious.
