For our non-UK members.

The BBC is funded by a licence fee levied on every household that owns a TV (£159) a year, the BBC is set up to be independent of Government and has a Royal Charter that is supposed to guarantee its editorial independence and impartiality.

OFCOM is the UK independent regulator of TV services, telecommunications and radio and among other things is supposed to make sure that public service broadcasters like the BBC maintain impartiality and that the BBC specifically adheres to the requirements of its Royal Charter - it answers to Parliament.

Stonewall successfully infiltrated the BBC, its regulator OFCOM, Parliament who is the regulator of OFCOM, the political parties who are elected to parliament and the UK Civil Service who are the body that carries out the policy implementations under the direction of HM Government.

Like all religious dogmas, a lot of time and money is spent fighting the infidels, heretics and sinners. Take for example Stonewall’s further fall from grace as it teams up with other former LGB rights charities, and Mermaids, to challenge the Charity Commission’s decision to grant LGB Alliance’s charitable status on the basis that LGB Alliance seeks to in the words of (Jewish woman) Bev Jackson: “Challenge the dominance of those who promote the damaging theory of gender identity.” This aim is hardly something LGB Alliance has sought to keep secret. It’s something that’s been very clearly laid out on their website since it was launched.

They seem to be more attended by straight people bringing their children to view what has become a modern day freak show of people in full gimp gear, pup fetishists, furries, and ‘queers’ whose only oppression seems to be their neon green hair and pierced tongues, and that they’re going to have to wait until they are 25 before they can access the trust fund. Please be careful when deciding to meet people off the internet in real life.

Think,

Do you really know this person?

Are they being genuine about who they are?

Should I give identifiable information about myself before I’ve met this person in real life, including addresses?

Speak to this person on the phone before meeting, get a feel for who they are.

Consider what their motivations might be for wanting to meet?

Never meet someone anywhere but a busy public location for the few few times you meet.

Do not go back to their place, do not invite them to yours until you have met a few times.

Always tell friends and family where you’re going, the name of who you’re going to meet, where you made contact with them initially, and how long you’re going to be. Give them the phone number/contact details of who you’re going to meet.

Always have a back up plan in case you need to leave quickly.

If you don’t feel comfortable for any reason when you meet, leave.

Stay in a public area, resist the temptation to “go somewhere more private”.

Google them, look at their social media, see if they check out with what they’re telling you.

"The good gays who now claim that flag as their own are the ones that have bought into the strict ideology that is working against the interests of same sex attracted men and women. They are the ones that will post historical revisionism that erases lesbians from the Stonewall riots and replaces them with a transwoman who according to his own account was neither trans and was not there. The good gays circle the bad gays and punish them, call them names, and threaten them with rape or violence simply because we will not be gaslit into sleeping with the opposite sex. Yes, we have the receipts, and the lesbians have been complaining about this for years."

nce upon a time an organisation was established to campaign for gay and lesbian rights. They faced opposition from the outset. They were widely condemned, even called out as a hate group when they talked about same-sex attraction. When they sought charitable status, a petition was launched, urging the Charities Commission to reject the application. Tens of thousands of people signed it.

But this was not the dark days of the 1980s, when Section 28 stopped councils and schools 'promoting the teaching of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship'. This is now.

At midday today it was announced by the Charity Commission that the LGB Alliance had been granted charitable status following a rigorous, investigative process. The 4,000+ word report accompanying the announcement made it clear that a number of objections were raised, all of which were comprehensively considered before being dismissed. This has left a number of politicians and minor celebrities looking rather silly.

The Charity Commission “concluded that the purposes of LGB Alliance, as properly construed in accordance with the legal framework, are charitable and beneficial.” This is at odds with the ‘sinister’ ‘hate group’ described by John Nicolson MP, a politician who alongside Baroness Barker urged the BBC not to offer a platform to the LGB Alliance. Nicolson and Barker are not the only politicians sheltering behind parliamentary privilege, Kirsty Blackman MP and Jamie Stone MP have also smeared the LGB Alliance as hateful and transphobic.

[–]Movellon[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I am a butch lesbian. I live with gender dysphoria. This is the condition which, according to mental health professionals, means I am transgender. However, I do not define as transgender. I do not want to take hormones or have surgeries. I do not accept that it is possible to live “as a man”, without believing in old fashioned gender stereotypes. I do not believe my deep discomfort with my female body means that I should take steps to change it. This is my story.

In many respects, I live “as a man,” if you want to put it like that. I don’t want to put it like that, which is part of the problem I face. But I work in a warehouse. I shop in the men’s department. I have a wife and children, who I work to support. I am at ease in the company of men. My hobbies include turning wood, and fixing things. If I could click my fingers and be rid of my womb and my breasts, and not face lifelong medicalisation, I probably would. I have regularly felt, like Lady Macbeth, “unsex me here.” I am often “misgendered.” People call me “lad” or “sir,” until they hear my voice. It bothers me not at all.

Finally, it seems states in the US are waking up to the horror of medicating children with gender dysphoria, writes Jo Bartosch. Last week Arkansas became the first state to pass a bill protecting children from puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and surgery. Sixteen other states are reportedly considering similar action.

Republican State Governor Asa Hutchinson attempted to veto the bill, but this was decisively and immediately overturned by the state legislature.

[–]Movellon[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A friend of mine has been to hell and back in the past couple of years, after falling foul of homophobic neighbours. He taped all the abuse and kept a journal of the harassment, but the police made it clear he was on his own unless he was beaten up or burned out of his house.

He was contemplating suicide when a miracle happened, in the shape of Galop, the LGBT+ anti-violence charity. Thanks to the latter’s intervention, the family were evicted and the main abuser was charged and successfully prosecuted. My friend has his life back and he can’t praise Galop highly enough.

The name, short for Gay London Police Monitoring Group, was a blast from the past for me. The group was founded in 1982, in the days of ‘pretty policing’, when good-looking young officers were used to entrap gay men. By the mid-1990s, when I worked for the London paper Capital Gay, that practice had largely ended, but it left a deep legacy of distrust. Victims of queerbashing at cruising areas were often frightened to go to the police, since outdoor gay sex was illegal and they feared they’d be criminalised, like rape victims in Saudi Arabia who end up getting flogged for adultery. Galop was a vital intermediary.

The UN, ILGA, Stonewall and the Women’s Caucus: Jo Bartosch investigates calls for the removal of laws prohibiting sex with or between adolescents - Lesbian and Gay News by Movellon in LGBDropTheT

[–]Movellon[S] 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yesterday, Stonewall Scotland took to Twitter to deny that they support the lowering of the age of consent. The accusation was prompted by the discovery of a shadowy conference paper which appears to open the door to child abuse. The document was signed and promoted by ILGA World, an international organisation of which Stonewall Scotland are members.

Supporters of Stonewall Scotland have suggested this is a cynical attempt to link LGBT groups with paedophilia; a modern manifestation of the smear that gay men are more likely to abuse children. But underscoring claims and counter claims is a morally repugnant document that has been promoted internationally by well-funded bodies with links across the world.

Transmen, as we know, are female and they do not have the same commonality of experiences as gay men do. They will never know what is it’s like to be a man who is exclusively attracted to members of the same sex. Heterosexual or bisexual females, which is the category that transmen themselves fall into, do not have the same experiences as us. Our sexual orientation and our experience as gay men is not a costume you can put on or take off at will, and while my heart genuinely goes out to transmen and their personal struggles, as gay men we have absolutely no reason to give up our spaces and nor does anyone have the right to pressurise, harass, gaslight, or guilt trip us into doing so.

There’s a myth within the mainstream heterosexual world, that somehow lesbians are tougher than other women, that as women free from men lesbians won’t be victims of sexual violence. This is, of course, a lie. A new website, Lesbian Me Too has been launched to redress this cultural blind-spot. It provides a platform for lesbians who have hitherto been pushed to the margins of the #MeToo movement, as Jo Bartosch reports.

[–]Movellon[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It was 1993. I dropped in to see a friend, and on the wall of his typically disordered student bedroom was a poster against homophobia. Women kissing women, men kissing men. Standard stuff, you might think. But one detail flipped my mind. At the bottom was the legend ‘This campaign is supported by BBC Radio 1’.

This was a positive, welcome move. Just a few years earlier one of the station’s top DJs had been cracking AIDS gags. Radio 1, at least in the daytime, had tried (and sometimes succeeded) to ignore and exile to the margins any musical act that was a bit too gay. Now they were on board.

Gareth Roberts is best known in the UK for writing several episodes of Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and Coronation Street. He was and an early cancellation by the TQs because he tweeted wrongthink.

I have long argued that the relationship between lesbians and gay men is a bit like that of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. We fall out, disagree, and eventually get back together again when we realise we need each other.

And right now, we need each other. Lesbians have become the targets of extreme misogyny in the guise of progressiveness, and gay men are starting to speak up in our defence, which, in turn, puts them in the firing line. As well as this, our movement is morphing into an Alphabetti Spaghetti of identities that is more focussed on narcissistic personalities than politics.

Queer? by Movellon in LGBDropTheT

[–]Movellon[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In the game of thrones of gay politics we have our own seat forged of weapons with many pretenders to it, the iron throne that is the word “queer” from which those with dubious claims to real homosexual lives can rule the seven kingdoms of victimhood and identity politics.

For many of us, the word “queer” was an integral part of the soundscape of real hatred that got us beaten up, sacked and bullied – for years we were “dirty/filthy queers” who had “queerboy” shouted at us as we anxiously left pubs in groups for safety. As words go, it’s a sharp blade, the wounds it leaves are messy lacerations that don’t heal neatly rather than clean surgical cuts. Strange it is then, that a word which was an essential piece of architecture of social hate is now contorted like an Escher staircase to nowhere where up is down, left is right and being “queer” is now desirable.

I posted this on response to a “it’s all 4chan waaaaaa” post in the superstraight subreddit.

This has been debunked so many times that it’s just pathetic that you’re continuing with it.

4chan are trolls and they claim responsibility for nearly everything and try to claim nearly everything is a Nazi plot and weak not to bright people like you fall for it.

Why not address the issue that lots of people, straight, gay or bi, are sick of being sexually coerced by people enthralled by the gender identity pseudoscience?

Our sexual orientations are not hate, and are not dictated by your (unknown to us) internal sense of ID.

If you ban this sub and try to silence this the issue that created it won’t go away, it’ll just fester, become bigger and more extreme, and then comeback.

The TQ need to start listening to what the LGB and now the S are saying.

Knock it the fuck off, it’s over. We’ve said no.

Instead of taking note and listening to what is being said, LGBTplc pushed back and instantly went on the attack. Perhaps it is because they feel like they must stamp this out because deep down in the back of their heads they might be starting to realise that they have pushed this too far with the wrong group of people. Maybe they realise that if they let this one go, they might not be able to gaslight and coerce the straights in quite the same way that they have been doing to LGB people?

While this is terrible it's not really on topic for the sub and doesn't really need its own thread. Superstraight is funny, and I'm having a lot of fun with it on Twitter but we do need to keep to Rule 2 for new threads.

Author Philip Dundas on his debut novel 'Daniel, at Sea' in which a 77 year old gay professor looks back on his life - Lesbian and Gay News by Movellon in LGBDropTheT

Daniel at Sea is your first novel. Can you tell us how the story came about?

It’s hard to say when the first idea for this book came to me; it’s more like an accumulation of thoughts and ideas gathered over the years, collecting in my mind, and sometimes getting mixed up with other stories. The characters came from my imagination, although my shrink would definitely argue that these are idealised forms from my subconscious.
