Be very sure that the reason why we were banned is because we know that sex is real, that sexual orientation is all about the sex binary, and that we refuse to lie to ourselves and other people about that.

Just make sure that you let anyone you see who is struggling to deal with what I now refer to as the Rainbow Reich know about us over here.

[–]Movellon[S] 24 insightful - 1 fun24 insightful - 0 fun25 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

At midday today it was announced by the Charity Commission that the LGB Alliance had been granted charitable status following a rigorous, investigative process. The 4,000+ word report accompanying the announcement made it clear that a number of objections were raised, all of which were comprehensively considered before being dismissed. This has left a number of politicians and minor celebrities looking rather silly.

The Charity Commission “concluded that the purposes of LGB Alliance, as properly construed in accordance with the legal framework, are charitable and beneficial.” This is at odds with the ‘sinister’ ‘hate group’ described by John Nicolson MP, a politician who alongside Baroness Barker urged the BBC not to offer a platform to the LGB Alliance. Nicolson and Barker are not the only politicians sheltering behind parliamentary privilege, Kirsty Blackman MP and Jamie Stone MP have also smeared the LGB Alliance as hateful and transphobic.

They seem to be more attended by straight people bringing their children to view what has become a modern day freak show of people in full gimp gear, pup fetishists, furries, and ‘queers’ whose only oppression seems to be their neon green hair and pierced tongues, and that they’re going to have to wait until they are 25 before they can access the trust fund. Perhaps when they do their first purchase might be a bar of soap and a couple of bottles of Domestos?

Finally, it seems states in the US are waking up to the horror of medicating children with gender dysphoria, writes Jo Bartosch. Last week Arkansas became the first state to pass a bill protecting children from puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and surgery. Sixteen other states are reportedly considering similar action.

Republican State Governor Asa Hutchinson attempted to veto the bill, but this was decisively and immediately overturned by the state legislature.

The constant lies, harassment and smears haven't worked so far, and they'll continue to fail. The way LGB Alliance have approached this just means that when they're attacked for saying reasonable things their point its proved but the kids are too inexperienced to realise. LGB Alliance aren't speaking to them, they're speaking to the people who are on the fence.

[–]Movellon[S] 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Transmen, as we know, are female and they do not have the same commonality of experiences as gay men do. They will never know what is it’s like to be a man who is exclusively attracted to members of the same sex. Heterosexual or bisexual females, which is the category that transmen themselves fall into, do not have the same experiences as us. Our sexual orientation and our experience as gay men is not a costume you can put on or take off at will, and while my heart genuinely goes out to transmen and their personal struggles, as gay men we have absolutely no reason to give up our spaces and nor does anyone have the right to pressurise, harass, gaslight, or guilt trip us into doing so.

Like all religious dogmas, a lot of time and money is spent fighting the infidels, heretics and sinners. Take for example Stonewall’s further fall from grace as it teams up with other former LGB rights charities, and Mermaids, to challenge the Charity Commission’s decision to grant LGB Alliance’s charitable status on the basis that LGB Alliance seeks to in the words of (Jewish woman) Bev Jackson: “Challenge the dominance of those who promote the damaging theory of gender identity.” This aim is hardly something LGB Alliance has sought to keep secret. It’s something that’s been very clearly laid out on their website since it was launched.

nce upon a time an organisation was established to campaign for gay and lesbian rights. They faced opposition from the outset. They were widely condemned, even called out as a hate group when they talked about same-sex attraction. When they sought charitable status, a petition was launched, urging the Charities Commission to reject the application. Tens of thousands of people signed it.

But this was not the dark days of the 1980s, when Section 28 stopped councils and schools 'promoting the teaching of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship'. This is now.

I think it's a good move to have a paywall for comments as it will act as a natural filter to troll accounts that seem to bombard articles in an attempt to manipulate the perceptions of what is or isn't popular opinion.

I think increasingly we need to support these types of start ups as this is how the fightback will be won.
