Well - nobody cares if a TIF who has never taken testosterone plays in women's (or men's) sports but if they're taking testosterone then they're doping, which isn't fair either. But you're right that it's really not our biggest concern right now so I probably don't need to distract us from that!

The Dems know they've erred and they know what they need to do to fix it. The problem is they're going to need to hurt the feelings of some of the loudest and most obnoxious personalities in their party.

My hope is that the new administration forces that slimy researcher, who is hiding her research, to share her raw data with the scientific community. Then someone can do a proper analysis and it can be reviewed and published. The Democratic Party will then have an excuse to change their stance on at least the more extreme elements of the trans cult.

I don't want Trump's administration to do their own "Cass Report" where they task someone with putting together a review. The TRAs (and much of the left) will immediately write it off as biased - even if they get someone like Marci Bowers to do it and a thousand other academics review and approve the results.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are more researchers sitting on data because they're afraid to publish.

It's easy to mock him but I imagine when he was younger it was genuinely difficult to be the son of the richest man in the world - most people resent you and many others are trying to use you. I can't imagine anyone had sympathy for him at all until he trans-ed which is probably why he did it. He's 20 so although he's an adult his brain is still developing and that's why we see these stupid reactionary statements. This is the perfect example of why kids shouldn't transition - even socially.

Almost every opinion piece I've read (and the majority of comments from the public on those articles) has referenced the trans insanity as one of the reasons Trump won. Many Democrats are coming out and saying "this issue has gone too far". I am a combination of grateful - that it's finally acceptable to make these statements - and horrified - that so many people were apparently self-censoring.

The Democrats have disappointed me deeply. The Republicans knew years ago this was a hot button issue and while they might've propelled it forward into the public's consciousness they didn't create the issue itself. It was totally predictable that people would get fed up with the government insisting 2+2=5. Why didn't the Democrats see that and deal with it a lot sooner? Why did they seemingly double down on this failing approach? They rolled out a new math teaching "sex is a spectrum" instead. Either the Democrats were bumbling fools or they had a grander plan of indoctrination and mind control that failed. I prefer the bumbling fools excuse because I'm not ready to become a conspiracy theorist.

Agreed. This issue is such a sticking point for so many people because it's just illogical - we all know how a man and a woman are different - we all know it's unfair and dangerous for men to play in women's sports. People feel like they're in an Orwellian nightmare where they're being told to accept 2 + 2 = 5 ("transwomen are women!"); and if they don't accept it they've committed a thoughtcrime. People feel a similar unease with other parts of identity politics but the left manages to over complicate the issue such that the normal person can't figure out how to explain their concerns. Sex is simple though. It's obvious this is wrong.

Thanks for continuing to raise this issue in those communities. You are making a difference!

The title is clickbait - the video isn't Trump apologia but I can see how it seems that way. I thought the same until I saw it was an interview with Kara Dansky of Women's Declaration International. She's a vocal Democrat and very clear that she thinks Trump is completely unfit for office. She's also an attorney who's been engaged in defending women and children's rights so the host was asking how feasible it was for Trump to implement his platform on trans issues (as we know he has a tendency to make wild statements).

Vance's political positions do seem to align with Project 2025.

I started reviewing Agenda 47 and Project 2025 and there is a lot of overlap. There are parts of P2025 missing from A47 like abortion, pornography, and other issues that we know Trump tends to be more liberal on. I haven't had time to dig into how closely they match the sections on the economy, journalism, etc.

One of the last tables breaks down identification by generation and sex.

Here's how things look for "transgender":

Silent Generation: 0.4% women, 0% men

Baby Boomers: 0% women, 0.2% men

Gen X: 0.1% women, 0.3% men

Millennial: 0.4% women, 0.3% men

Gen Z: 2.1% women, 0.9% men

Nobody seems to be questioning how women in Gen Z are twice as likely to be trans whereas in every other generation they're about the same.

This is what Abigail Shrier was writing about. This is ROGD.

I don't think Trump is interested at all in Project 2025 - he has his own platform and he doesn't want to be a puppet to the Heritage Foundation. I'm sure there will be members of congress who are giving Project 2025 their all and we should be more concerned if an establishment Republican (who may be less self-interested than Trump) is elected in 2028. Trump has lots of other types of scary stuff in his agenda but I don't think any would set back women specifically.

I'm more concerned about the election revealing how alienated people have felt from the theatrics of the left when it comes to DEI/identity politics and how any group that was "less privileged" (including women) may experience some reactive backlash from the men who are tired of being demeaned. We already know that's a problem with walking piles of diarrhea like Andrew Tate.

I think you just summed up the election. Trump listened to the voters. Harris did not listen to the voters. That's why Trump won.

The Republican party listened to the voters after Obama's 2012 election and did their post mortem to figure out how to pivot. The Democrat party didn't change anything after the calamity of 2016. I remember back then that the narrative was "Trump voters are either full of hate or uneducated" (which is a nicer way of saying "stupid" but everyone saw through that). There was no listening and apparently no attempt to understand what happened which is why history is repeating itself. Instead of trying to change their platform so they appealed more to the concerns of the working class they doubled down on the educated elite and that's when they became obsessed with identity politics.

He's been pretty pleased with himself that SCOTUS put the abortion issue back into the states - much to the chagrin of both pro-choicers and anti-choicers. I don't get the impression he wants to ban abortion - it's not something he cares about. I also think he knows it would be very unpopular. Most people on the right and left don't want a total ban. He does like being liked.

I think Vance is Catholic so who knows what the next four years could bring though.

Agreed - I think a lot of people feel emboldened or enraged now. Many men now believe they're in the majority and are allowed to be cruel or violent, and many men are terrified to discover they're in the minority and feel the need to lash out with cruelty or violence.

I think there's a legitimate concern that violence might ramp up against LGBT+ people and other minorities. There's a lot of hatred and despair on both sides - obviously now I'm seeing it more from the left as people are pretty pissed with the minority groups that broke for Trump.

Whether someone would actually try to attack this 6'4" guy is debatable.

It's incredible. When I was younger it was the opposite - the right was perceived as puritanical and unwelcoming unless you subscribed to everything they believed in. The mainstream media was generally a trusted institution whose journalists had integrity and presented all sides of the story - now their headlines are inflammatory clickbait and trust in the media has tanked. The Democrats were the party of the working people and they fought against sexist stereotypes and defended women's rights. The Republicans supported Big Pharma and were all for pumping people full of toxic chemicals as long as it made rich men even richer. Everything is topsy turvy.

It feels worse because that emphatic "it's us or them" attitude is no longer just rhetoric or in anonymous online forums - it's infected our relationships and interactions with people in real life. It's a cult. It's toxic and stifling. It's unsurprising that people who feel ignored and demeaned turned to the right.

I'm very frustrated with the Democrats. They shoehorned in Clinton and now Harris - basically setting America up to fail twice on electing a woman as president. I've had friends and family lambasting all the Trump voters for being sexist and ignoring the fact that Harris was not a good candidate.

Are there sexist and racist Trump voters? Unquestionably. Are 73 million Americans so sexist and racist that they would rather elect someone they despise than a woman? Unlikely. People voted for Trump for a lot of different reasons - some terrible and others reasonable.

I have a strong suspicion that our first female president will be a Republican.

I've never felt less safe in my life expressing an opinion that counters the mainstream narrative. It's not just the toxicity of cancel culture, the incredible censorship on places like Reddit, or the overwhelming bias of the mainstream media. It's that if I try to ask even basic questions to friends or family in person like "what does being nonbinary mean to you?" or statements like "I've noticed so many more girls are identifying as trans" then people respond one of two ways: immediate defensiveness with tension that increases the moment they realize their standard answers aren't enough to shut me up, or they express immediate relief and hope that they've finally found someone they can talk to openly.

It didn't used to be this way. I used to debate abortion rights and religion and other subjects with my friends regularly. Sure, most of the time we never convinced each other of anything but at least we listened to each other and our friendships never became strained because of it.

LGB needs to quit hitching their wagon to TQ+. I also think they need to separate themselves from the kink community which seems to be part of every Pride Parade.

Most Americans really don't care (and don't want to know) what two consenting adults do. It doesn't matter to them if they marry. It doesn't matter what they do in private. The backlash has largely been to the very outspoken TQ (and kink) community that LGB is hitched to. These are all very different groups so why are they lumped together?
