Politicians are already paid far, far less than executive private industry roles. There are thousands of fruit suppliers shipping to this plant and then shipping mega-loads of fruity party packs to all countries globally. If you think it's more efficient to have all industries process all products at the site of harvesting, be it fruit, raw materials, etc. you'd quickly realize just how ridiculously less efficient that would be. Sounds nice on the surface but you really do need subject matter experts to avoid making huge mistakes that end up tanking an industry. Apply this same logic to excluding, say, subject matter experts on what "the internet" is and you get old school republicans whining about a series of tubes making some really, really bad internet legislation. To disconnect a subject matter expert from any income from that field is hard but also the reason politicians should (and do) get paid well.

Agreed. Headline is very sensationalized to mislead the reader into thinking someone was stabbed for 'being a conservative journalist' when he was clearly stabbed for coming up from behind and putting his arm around someone in what can be perceived as a threatening manner. This is very clearly an issue for a court to decide because the stabbing does not appear necessary and how long this guy was stalking them for and in what way is not necessarily fully understood. It could have been a plan to find a reason to stab him or it could have been just a severe overreaction to the uninvited touching - court issue, person who picked this title is fake new peddler.

So the liberal government claimed that it's "racist" to mandate that everyone equally must wear a mask because the liberal government feels that minorities wearing a mask will be perceived as a danger to society.

So let the minorities die, says the liberal government, to appease the hypothetical "racist" boogeyman. Meanwhile, the premise of the law enacted by those liberals is racist by definition - separate laws to follow base on skin colour alone.

When people complained about their pure, actual racism, they first accused everyone who complained of being "horribly racist" then they followed up by agreeing with them. They dropped the racist rules that they created and still maintain that everyone else is a racist.

It's not about toppling them, as the end of reddit is guaranteed already. Its about having open platforms where we can argue about things most of us arent experts in without being censored for given opinions. Beginning of the end was banning "unpopular" conservative subreddits from showing up on the front page.

When i saw a thread about some space drone constructor game skyrocket across r/gaming with thousands of superficial comments and 20k upvotes per hour - each one of those superficial commenters having multi-year accounts with posts across NHL, movies, golf, etc. it struck me that these were huge operations astroturfing reddit for money.

Then came star wars, holy shit, the most inorganic fake social media blitz I've ever seen outside of typical liberal reddit political spam until the recent BLM "stuff."

Reddit is done. Other websites will fall prey to this machine as well. The future is either anonymous astroturfing or verified ID accounts. Both suck.

This is not true. While very sketchy that BLM refuses to reveal where they are spending their money, using actblue as an intermediary between BLM and donors doesn't have anything to do with other campaigns or charities that also use actblue. Focus on real, verified things such as BLMs manifesto on their website detailing their goal of eliminating 'the western nuclear family.'
