[–]LilianH 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Males and females develop the same until about 7 weeks at which point they will either develop as male if a SRY gene is present (Y chromosome) otherwise they will develop as female. We don't have a physical sex up until this point (just a chromosomal sex). Testosterone doesn't turn someone male, it's the other way around. Being male will cause the development of cells that produce testosterone. The clitoris and the penis have the same precursor, but a clitoris does not turn into a penis or vice versa and we don't all start out with female genitals, we all start out with no genitals and then develop male or female genitals based on the instructions in our genes.

I've read her book. The only women who were "sexualy fluid" were those who at the start of the study were bisexual (however they identified themselves). Lesbians (there were only 3 in her study) were still lesbian at the end of the study, and straight women were still straight at the end of the study. Those who started attracted to both men and women (i.e. bisexual) moved about a bit depending on their relationships and changed how they identified their sexuality, but remained bisexual at the end of the study.

This year they are holding a rebel "Mardi Gras March" on Saturday.

They actually had an announcement of their march a few hours ago (check out @PrideinProtest on facebook) and they were standing in front of a trans flag and they spoke about every far-left cause under the sun except gay and lesbian rights.

The original source of that stat was a report done by a trans rights group in Argentina or Chile and was specifically looking as trans women involved in prostitution who had HIV. The stat was then used in a study in Chile or Peru (my memory is a bit fuzzy over which countries it was) and then it got picked up by Brazilian LGBT groups around 2012 and filtered through to the USA a year or so after that where it became "the truth" and has been used ever source. There is, of course, the possibility that the original report was nonsense as well because it was done by a trans rights group.

I would argue that none of these creatures get pregnant because they do not gestate the young within their body. The seahorse holds eggs in a pouch until they hatch and the other two carry around eggs externally until they hatch. If a bird lays eggs in a nest we don't say the nest is pregnant, the same should be true here as well.

I don't know if this particular story is true, but I've seen a few articles in the past by women who were upset about being kicked out of gay saunas and clubs because they were female. There was also a gay event in New Zealand about 3 or 4 year back during Wellington Pride I think it was that was bullied and eventually dropped by the official Pride because it was a male only event. So people like this woman are definitely out there.

Misleading. She is intersex and was born with a uterus that wasn't developed. Was given hormone treatment and was able to become pregnant (I assume with IVF and probably donor eggs as well). The newspaper articles also reported her condition as androgen insensitivity syndrome which is extremely unlikely because this would be the first case I'm aware of able to become pregnant, so it is far more likely to be swyer's syndrome.

NASDAQ is mostly IT stocks isn't it? And it's "self-identify" as a woman or as LGBTQ+ So they already have a big pool of potential candidates to draw on given the number of males who identify as trans in that sector.

The key to understand trans activists is to realise that almost everything they say is either a lie, an exaggeration, or a projection and it usually contradicts something else they'll claim later. You can't understand them because what they are saying will change by tomorrow and will be transphobic by next week.

Are Rome and Europe the Root of Patriarchy in the Rest of the World? by MarkTwainiac in GenderCritical

[–]LilianH 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well it's not just the central/south American cultures, you'd have to include a deeply patriarchal society like China in the mix because it was never colonised by Europe and pre-dates the existence of Rome and in the middle-east, there is significant written evidence of Assyrian and Babylonian laws that enforced patriarchal control of women in marriage, and both of those civilisations predated Rome. Isolated cultures, e.g. Maori in New Zealand were still patriarchal.

They are just playing to the current "queer" narrative that gender roles and biological sex was invented in late Western Europe and pre-European cultures were perfect and equal. It's utter nonsense, there is no evidence to support their claims and they'll never provide any if you ask them.

Kotaku also had a trans man review the game so I guess they are going all out to prove "transphobia" in the woke gaming press.

From a description of the book.

PoMoSexuals gives voice to 15 people living in the gray areas of gender and sexuality who struggle with what it means to have "nonstandard" erotic desires and identities in America. They represent people on the margins of gender and sexuality, ranging from a man who becomes a lesbian woman to a heterosexual woman exploring her attraction to gay men and a lesbian who writes gay male porn.

It's one of those books.

Not surprising. That's interesting. I was accepting the 37 number as actual murders, but it turns out they padded that number with non-murders as well. I guess they weren't getting any traction with the 25ish per year number and had to push it up this year.

Edit: And 6 from Puerto Rico when none were listed on the HRC list last year. Suspicious.
