The disappointment of Lesbian Visibility Week: “It seems if one wants to take part, acceptance of the mainstream line on trans inclusion must now be performed, even if not believed.” by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

I suspect it started well after 2008. More like 2014+. A group of friends from tumblr were joking about how the wikipedia page that listed LGBT visibility days had no mention of lesbians until a couple of us spotted that, and decided it would be funny to message a popular queerio blog ls with fake whining about it. Within a couple weeks suddenly an entry existed for this day and a background was drafted for where it came from. Watching it come together on social media just pop out of no where was fascinating. Sure maybe it did actually start in 2008 in the UK. Or maybe that was a convenient way to hide the fact that there was no lesbian visibility day etc but a day for a bunch of groups like pan and various others.

Ultimately we all need to stop thinking of these services as public, archive all of your own papers. Save your own copies of things worthwhile by you and others you care for their words. Print them out, it sounds ridiculous but this is how things can eventually be given to archives.

I mean in this case I think the person who jumped to “fix the article” was also just dumb as nails, because at the time it was changed it was maybe 5 paragraphs long, so the fact they couldn’t even pay attention for that long and changed the pronouns not realizing she was a lesbian and it was referring to her female partner and her is just. Idk typical of them?

To my knowledge at least, she never identified as male but her and many lesbians and modern women in the parisian Natalie Barney circle at the time crossdressed and wore masculine styled clothing and enjoyed that it was a bit out there.

There’s a page for a now deceased lesbian artist which referred to her and one of her girlfriends living together in a sentence as “they.” Because she was gender nonconforming, some “good samaritan” came along and assumed this GNC lesbian was nonbinary/they/them and changed the pronouns in the article so its now unreadable to know when its referring to her and one of her multiple named girlfriends in the page or her alone.

I also checked every thesis paper on her I could find, every account available (there’s not a whole lot) besides one masculine nickname and how she dressed there’s nothing to account that she was “nonbinary” 60-80 years before the concept was invented. Whoever did it had less knowledge on this artist than I do, and yet they felt the need to change all the pronouns on her wikipedia page because they saw a “they” referring to a lesbian couple. When we talk about them going after specifically GNC lesbians with added energy (sometimes) aside from the cotton and boxer ceiling disasters, this is part of what we mean. GNC and LGB people can’t just exist, even dead, without being transed without our consent.

Its funny because I’ve felt less accepted for wearing these things among other lesbians, and have found those in my area are primarily super feminine and make fun of any lesbian who isn’t. It’s not like I came out yesterday either.

They want to claim to be revolutionary but they want to turn what we like to wear into a uniform and I hate that, because for them its never been about being themselves like it is for those who simply enjoy these types of clothing (flannel is comfy and warm, lol)

Hi, I am disabled and became disabled after being born able bodied. Trust me I’m not lumping us in, I’m saying we should have had more of a claim to the term than the fetishists, but that’s not how that went- and thats only if the term ever could have been useful, I’m not sure that it could have but it would have been a hell of a lot less depressing use of the term than it is for the fetishists. More rambling than anything. Juxtaposing it to how transracial has also been hijacked by weirdos and fetishists, when originally it belonged to adoptees, which is obviously a more legitimate use of the term, but only on a linguistics basis. Anyway, not seriously seeing the use of the term, but it would have been a little nicer of a world haha!

So first they’re a very very small minority, significantly smaller than the amount of actually dysphoric TW vs women, compared to... as a group people with disabilities actually make up a very large minority. I’m not sure on exact stats but it’s noticeably smaller.

Second, you’re bold to assume some people experience shame. (I wish sometimes it were the case- for many shame isn’t helpful when its over arbitrary things, but others lack it entirely, like whoever left diarrhea over the portapotties I saw recently.

What is weird though, is the number of people who are both trans and claim transabled or wanting to claim to be another race (not in the actual use like adoption of transracial). Transabled should refer to people who weren’t born disabled, but later became disabled... but unfortunately it refers to yet another obvious paraphilia for some and a dysmorphia for others.

Bridgerton and the "male rape" scene by [deleted] in GenderCritical

I haven’t read the book which other commenters mentioned may have involved a very different scenario- so my write up is just the show. I don’t particularly want to read the book regardless of what happened differently, so I can’t say exactly how different it was but it sounds very different (Duke is drunk, Daphne is sober, he may not want to have sex) but in the show he was willing until he couldn’t trick her.

[–]LeaveAmsgAfterBeep 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

People claim outlander is very feminist informed but what I watched of it seemed like in the early seasons the rape or attempted rape of the female main character were sexualized (literally shots of her ass as her stalker is attempting to rape her on a desk???). When her husband is raped by her stalker, it is portrayed as not sexualized and far more horrific from the camera angles used, more like torture. This is from a film making perspective and not how characters react to it, and once again- can’t speak to how the book is.

None of these made for adults shows that capitalize on veering so close to soft porn really do a very good job of handling serious issues against women of course.

[–]LeaveAmsgAfterBeep 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It’s a heterosexual couple that were both lying to each other, at least in the show I can’t speak to the book- and he didn’t object to her being on top until he couldn’t deceive her anymore because of it. Actually he almost got her off in time in the show, but came too fast. She called his bluff because he not only deceived her, but took advantage of her innocence and ignorance on the subject of sex, and more so he pretty much clued her into how sex works at all not just with him, and trusted him so for him to be “hurt” about his lying and power being stripped is ridiculous and she didn’t even get pregnant from it anyway.

Don’t forget this same male character kissed her in public while she was unmarried and without a chaperone, and her and all of her sisters might have lost their ability to marry and survive in the world’s stupid rules. He had the power to not kiss her so they had to have a shotgun wedding, but he didn’t. He had also lied to her rather cruelly once before. Because of his actions. Sure she wanted to be kissed, but ultimately he put her at risk, lied, and was upset mostly because she got him back a little and that threatened his major (and understandable) father issues [in the show, again, never read the book and don’t plan to. For the record I don’t remember these same people being as upset when in another Shondaland show the main female character cries an entire sex scene with a man, I guess that’s just normal sometimes?]

This is kind of an affront to male marital rape victims to call the show marital rape. I am a lesbian and I even know pullout is not a great method if you absolutely want to prevent pregnancy. There were contraceptive in the time period like lemons (changes vagina PH, I think honey was believed to be one for many years), and possibly condoms (made of intestines). But he was getting access to sex that was lower risk by not telling her “I don’t want kids, and also sex can make babies.” She didn’t even know that and when she found out how her body works (in the show) that makes it rape? Its ironic cause if he had been trans and not told her that was why he couldn’t have kids these same assholes would be like “go king uwu!”

And yes he could have told her he wanted to stop.

I did actually feel uncomfortable about the show, and its funny because I felt uncomfortable with how soft porn all the show’s sex scenes are and it is a lot of straight fucking like bunnies scenes between an underage character and an older more knowledgeable male character for the period who was still much better than the average male character (tm) given Daphne was almost raped by a different man she refused and the Duke helped her out of the situation a little bit (to be fair Daphne knocked that man out despite being a 100 lb 5’1” soft aristocrat girl).

But once I thought about why I was a different uncomfortable with this scene it made sense:

She gave him the exact same level of communication he had given her every 100 sex scenes implied or shown before that scene, but because he is a man we accept that, he had more knowledge and power the whole time. Because she is a woman we do not.

In the show it absolutely was an example of a double standard placed on women and men, the women are always the deceivers because we are assumed to seduce and use our babymaking and sexuality for evil and obviously carry all this knowledge at all times so Show-Daphne is evil. I think show Daphne is also like 17? And the Duke her husband is her older brother’s friend, so probably about 21-25

Maybe he didn’t want kids but every time previously they had sex there was still a risk of pregnancy, then he would have impregnated her without her knowledge and though she wanted a baby, is that not still deception in a society where he knew what makes pregnancy happen and she did not? No because she was an object to be acted on according to his desires. That’s how people see it.

I’ll give you the book may be entirely different. But for people not watching you deserve to know a little more about the context.

The people I am least afraid of being attacked by as a lesbian is generally teenage girls. Unless you’re still in middle or highschool and you’re being bullied, generally the people who post the least amount of threat to you are teenage girls. If you are yelling at teenage girls and they are not harassing you: you are the harasser (and their being afraid is not harassment, even if teenage girls were afraid of me as a butch lesbian in a bathroom or changing room I would not yell at them or be mad! I would calmly ask them if my leaving would make them more comfortable, and generally I’d expect them to say no based on my voice, but even if they said yes, I’d leave. That’s what non-narcisistic non-fetishist non-predatory non-bullies do. I can’t say all GNC women would do the same, and really we shouldn’t have to, but I believe this is one thing we can do.)

I really hope so as in medicine an obscured sex can be life or death depending on treatments, symptoms and conditions. I hope if it ever comes to death or maiming by any of these things because doctors were trying to play into trans shit that those patients or their surviving families know to sue the fucking rocks off the medical organizations and facilities handycapping doctors into this, or the doctors who were all too happy to sign themselves up. Harm is not viewed as equal, and its ironic because any other mental illness tends to get you shittier treatment by doctors, but this one gets some people “better” (though I don’t think ignoring your problems actually is better).

The phenomena itself of the TRE’s trying to wedge in and then hijack everything goes back, at least to commonly available and printed evidence that I could find to 1993.

I remember some of the big orgs “transitioning” to trans primary issues ticking upwards in 2007/8 with youth related things first. It got worse in around 2012/13 which is when I personally peaked. It has definitely increased in how rabid it is since 2015 and become a very “big talking point issue” but some well known feminists were either wimpering to the T or had already been terfed once by 2015- at least those somewhat well known to the millennials.

It is easy to demonize when you don’t understand nuance, or if you think in black and white.

It is too hard for these people to grasp that politics is not the only reason someone can wholeheartedly disagree with what you do, say, and distribute. I probably disagree on average on almost every political issue with the original sub’s userbase about 50-100% depending on the issue at hand. I’m more leftward than right, and despite that we share a common frustration with what the T says and does, and the realization of how little the T really belongs in a category for sexual orientation. I think gender is 100% bullshit, I am a leftmost democrat and I am by far not the only one among the sub’s original users or userbase here. They hate hearing that, because their whole thing is smearing their opponents as hateful bigots.... but here’s the problem, we as LGB are their opponents, and so everyone knows we’re not hateful bigots (at least when it comes to orientation)— but they know people would see through that argument so rather than find an alternative or rebuttal, they have to silence us instead so people can’t hear what we are saying and have been saying since the 90s.

TLDR it is easier to lie and silence than rebut or debate, or let people come to their own conclusion so cult like tactics is the preference.

But it’s so trendy to mock feminists, it’s an entirely new thing to do! No one has ever done it before and NO MAN HAS EVER DONE SOMETHING WRONG WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU CRAZY WITCH. It hasn’t gone on for decades! /s lol. Ok but in all seriousness feminism is only unpopular because people are gullible as fuck and don’t like thinking. Most of the people who attempt to critique feminism as a whole usually fail to make a point by generalizing wildly and thinking that is the same as class based analysis or the same as sex based oppression for men. They don’t really even get the basic concepts to stand on and its popular to “stan” for men right now because some men are mentally ill or some men are nice guys, so therefore they can simply spread the reversals and misinformation. When in reality they lack any sort of nuance or even basic understanding of what the various types of feminism are discussion or trying to do. It’d be sadder if it was significantly easier to access this info but somehow some people decided that its more radical to repeat Howard Stern-esque bullshit and call that reasoning.

Mental illnesses being insufficiently treated and social issues being unacknowledged and dismissed which add to them. The combo there in is important and sadly few make much progress on their mental health when transition is used as the priority and an excuse by both themselves and their “medical providers” to ignore them all. And hey if you’re a woman it might be nice for once to have your doctors not ignore something when first presented to them like so many burnt out medical staff with underlaying biases do. It takes personal time to deal with much of this stuff and transition is about skipping thinking about the other stuff that lead to such a decision.

You can’t make peoples bad decisions for them. You can’t make people choose good decisions either. Sometimes you have to watch the cards as they fall and gently urge people to consider things a little differently, and hope it eventually gets through.

Do you all ever notice how many women say gendercritical or rad femmy or even gosh, basic feminism 101 things, or even decent human being average things, and then put “NO TERFS ALLOWED!!”

Every time I see that, I’m like that’s 100% a woman who wants to say words that make sense in reality (unlike QT), but doesn’t want the backlash of being called a terf. It’s basically, “I’m not like other TERFs uwu.”

Anyway if you’re to the point of subliminally advertising ovarit that’s probably your internal identity egg that hasn’t hatched yet. Gender level: terf XD

I mean essentially it feels that way at least on the obsessive part of thinking, it can overlap with existential OCD and various other (informal) OCD topics, like trans OCD. However it doesn’t necessarily have the compulsive part, even the compulsive thinking and actions. Really depends on the person and what they’re going through and symptoms I guess? OCD in and of itself is an anxiety disorder so, you wrap some of these conditions up in a bundle of overlapping symptoms that encourage other symptoms of other conditions. I think my comment is more on the obsessional aspect of controlling appearance, identity, language, focusing on something you can control, and then also having the rules have meaning despite them not needing to, then altering one’s behaviors based on that. Not sure if any of this is a good technical or academic explanation, of course.

Yeah but I’m not totally sure, but someone certain “clitty” literally came from a subgenre of hentai porn about women growing their clits into dick-like things (futanari) that a lot of the online trans people seem to be into at least secretly. It’s been around for at least 15-25 + years so, it feels legit that that almost always was the translation that got tossed around in those communities (which often tried to invade the lesbian anime stuff).

Yes, and in some honest cases probably BDD, PTSD. Basically there’s a whole gambit of unchecked mental illnesses and trauma that plague those are sincere in their feelings, even if I disagree with how those feelings are coming out and explained by them. The eating disorders being neglected especially is criminal to me, being how destructive eating disorders can be and typically in people with ED + Depression I am told the ED is given the priority. For some reason, throw in a gender identity and the ED comes in second- despite them being the more deadly/damaging family of conditions than gender dysphoria by far.

I mean we still exist and the whole point to me about being butch is that I am a woman, just an unfeminine one in some ways and honestly some people might confuse me for a man at a distance and leave my partner and I alone.

I just think in the case of these gender PR lost ones- it’s insecurity from both not wanting to be perceived as female, but also wanting to be acknowledged as female when its beneficial to them/knowing the truth but not wanting to admit it. I see it on twitter profiles a lot, “wah I’m a nonbinary artist can I be featured in women artist wednesday features I’m a nonbinary woman! She/they/he/zem/zir/courgette” So - ok you’re not a woman but you are a woman? Just for the feature? Hmm

I don’t think a lot of them realize that they are playing into the rules of their own making (encouraged by social factors, but not rules per se depending on location that MUST be adhered to). They see the rules only having one escape- to not be a woman, it’s not all women, just them personally, because they can’t enjoy living inside their idea of a woman’s box. Women that transgress that barely register to them- there’s always a reason- or they don’t know about them don’t register the cognitive dissonance.

So there’s one exit strategy and it comes with peers and rejoicing and finally getting some of the things you never did while being just a woman- respect, compassion. And you can finally just like what you like and do what you want. And they don’t realize, but because the barrier to you not doing them was always in your own head anyway, just like your identity/exit strategy it’s much harder to perceive.

They also tend to not get... you can just not think about gender. It’s an option. Not everyone obsesses about it. But I have said and will say again, I think this is elements of an anxiety disorder in MOST of those who are in the nonbinary hyper obsessed with gender because they actually experience discomfort. It is basically similar to OCD.

Her wife is likely having her own mental health crises because of this but Ellen is too consumed to care. It doesn’t help that her wife was IMMEDIATELY attacked by genderists, with flaming torches (of words). It’s like they expect you to stay with someone after they come out as trans, sacrifice your own identity, mental health, money, soul and then you aren’t allowed to leave and if you want to they want to force you to stay. I’m not saying her wife is there yet or even ever will be, but this is how they treat partners trans people inside their cult like peaks. The partner is always expected to metaphorically cut out their own heart and take whatever the trans one wants them to have, because only one person in the relationship matters to the TRA mob. That is really ultimately why I think a lot of partners of trans identified weirdos eventually come out as trans too- 1) social contagion, and 2) being told they will only matter if they’re trans too. In some ways the TRA patriarchal cult is more patriarchal than what is appropriate in some normal society right now (location pending).

I will say I have connected with other women who desisted from the gender shit after a period of claiming to be a neo gender. One thing I found pretty common was that some stated not just pressure from homophobic or misogynistic families, but also friends who were overly encouraging and in some cases legitimately threatening for some to disidentify. I see a lot of what I have read echoed throughout my experiences in real life with gender teens/adolescents as well as on social media where the gender shit was strong, and how many are clear cut examples of whatever the concept of ROGD will end up being called once its actually got more research time. The gender shit is a negative force that seeks to consume the insecure, it gives them something to bond over and has legitimate social factors. The threats the lesbian community received over it on individual level sometimes, or at least the forced application of these identities onto some of us- is also pretty telling what the motives of some of these people really are about (control of others).

The more we hide the less examples we set to actually be happy in your own skin to the younger ones: none of the nonbinary and whatever genders seem to manage that, and I don’t mean it to make fun. They’re identities of deep seated insecurity, anxiety, trauma, and the desire to both stick out and opt in. Many will grow out of it and wish they could never say the words again. It’s demoralizing, but us existing at least somewhat openly is helpful.

For as many as you see fleeing womanhood like its a plague, there’s many who have realized that the gender bullshit was never an answer or have left the gender bullshit. The thing is, because they/thems are women 2.0 they get more attention by the media which inflates the numbers etc. it’s a contagion, but people can grow out of it. Many will only have had their gender persona online and in real life would look incredibly obviously feminine taking a 40 minute drive away from a city, they’re just surrounded by hyperfemininity in some places and gender weird in others and so they look like 2 choices to those with blinders up and lots of propaganda to be “kind” via gender fuckery.

I got out of it, I’ve known many women who did. They will come around, but a lot of people are not read to deal with their own traumas and how things are. Many will eventually. People miss out on the fact that it’s not quite as simple as “not like other girls,” they ignore the social aspects, guilt aspects, indoctrination, misogyny, lesbophobia, mental illness, personal trauma, etc. All have to be dealt with depending on the person- (though not to 100%) to be able to move forward* and realize they were trying to protect themselves, or appease someone.

As evidenced by this article, it is published at least on occasion. The implication and burden is commonly placed on LGB people for, what was it, “not fucking them.” A frequently repeated lie on social media, publications, and also academia, as well as in real life circles and which has translated to actual violence in the real world against LGB people by TRA (not just trans people, TRA are anyone who is an extremist with a specific world view about trans topics).

Now when it comes from normal incels and not trans ones- everyone can spot the abuse tactic and realize it’s not so harmless given the several manifestos and terrorist attacks. But the second its by trans people or their supporters, despite making false claims with no evidence (we somehow “cause their high suicide rates”), for example. Why are we always expected to sit by quietly to be pushovers who cater to their every unstable need? There are trans people out there who are mentally ill who DO NOT threaten suicide, because they aren’t abusive sacks of shit. While I don’t think we share much in common, I am happy to coexist with those people. As for these ones ^ I will continue to point out this is an abuse tactic no matter who it is by, it is not trans exclusive nor is it something only mentally ill people do, I am numb to abusers because I have known some and witnessed many more in online spaces. An unfortunate circumstance of youth, that is corrected by not feeling the emotional manipulation abusers seek to force on you while feeling no such emotions themselves, otherwise they might have the guilt not to lie and manipulate people for their own gain.

Sometimes I have also had straight friends and family members come to me and ask “what the fuck is this threatening suicide shit I see online so much by these types of people” [you’re a lesbian so you must know whats going on in LGBT being the implication here] and I answer.

Yes a lot of bi women imo in the areas where things like comphet are popular, seem to think there are camps of lesbians (often not just poli lez) who want to convert bisexuals and straight women into lesbians. One time I told a lady that literally no lesbian has such an agenda and if she did it would be fucked up and she called me a rape apologist out of no where. This wasn’t my only experience with that type, its a weird “lesbians are trying to erase bi women’s existence” when lesbians are frequently trying to tell bisexual women to not call themselves lesbians when they are bi, or telling other people that a woman who enjoys fucking men isn’t a lesbian but at least bi or straight. It’s... a weird internet phenomena where people forget bisexual people are oppressed in the real world by things that negatively affect homosexual people, and may also face some microagressions and bullying in any community, but ultimately online the worst thing to “happen to bi people” is people forget they’re bi while in a heterosexual marriage... I feel bad for bisexuals who still live in reality, I genuinely do, and I feel bad even for those who read things and get caught up and confused in the moment but realistically a google doc written by a 19 year old on tumblr probably shouldn’t have made their source cut to begin with...

The most wildly anti-GNC people are often trans and nonbinary identified people themselves. They want to use us when its convenient and the second we’re inconvenient to their point at hand, we’re chopped liver. In a single day of a TRA the labeling of a GNC person as trans or cis could flip flop 400 times. In their own day, they might just be themselves and not dress as conforming. Its a form of black and white thinking and if anything celebrities are more likely to be trapped into their boxes that support genderism’s rise.

It’s obvious to anyone whose ever lived more than 30 minutes into the country that they would not last a day without literally dying because someone misgendered them because most women in the country don’t perform hyper-femininity to the degree that the woke circles do. That isn’t a coincidence- the rise of hyperfemininity combined with insidious homophobia and misogyny is why we have the leap in at least lesbian and bisexual TIFs imo. It’s alienating as all fuck, and it’s more alienating if your also mentally ill or have a neuroatypical condition or if you’re trying to bond with other women and feeling rejected because you can’t half ass liking make up and frilly swooshy dresses and shit.

And the sad thing is pharmaceutical, surgeons, endocrinologists, and some therapists see it as a way to make $$. I’m not saying packing the kids up and taking them to a working farm would help a lot of them with context about the hyper gendered environment of most post-modern academic and tumblr/twitter infested virtue signaler infested nests... but a little context beyond TV and social media continually glamorizing hyperfeminity to the point of selfharm and mocking women in a more natural state might actually net some positive mental wellbeing gains for younger people. Maybe celebrities too need breaks away from what ends up apparently mental health shattering environments that encourage this sort of self imposed self destruction.

Tldr: Celebrities are out of touch and this makes it worse on young gullible people who buy into gender bullshit and adults who should damn well know better but struggle to think independantly. Just be your fucking self, for fucks sake, you’re like 35 dude.

If the TQ try to push: We should push back then, the vast majority of people would likely be on our side. I don’t want to ally with those who otherwise don’t see LGB as human... but unlike other administrations I do think a normal administration can be reasoned and argued with. A large part of normal US politics is like it or not lobbyists and grassroots can go a decently long way.

I think Harris isn’t in just California anymore, that’s going to change the context. At least, I hope so. My big concern is how much the LGBT and feminist orgs who already have money and recognition have fallen for TQ shit. It’s weird, when those people also are unlikely to give them money. This is a war about allies, I think, ““good”” allies giving donations? Popular rhetoric online and in universities and social groups but not he truth of the mess outside those bubbles, people can be convinced of even bullshit if they’re motivated enough to and TQ does that motivating pretty well through coercion and guilt tripping.

And no its not normal regardless of how one presents/is, but it is somewhat normalized in society to be this way so its not shocking. IMO most adult women have a lot of internalized misogyny they never try to work through and overcome. And it makes them awful to deal with sometimes even when you want to give those particular women the benefit of the doubt.

Well I hope we’ll move to pinpoint that certain sexual lifestyle choices are also not the same as being LGB, even if some LGB people do them. Kink, fetish shit, furry shit, bdsm, leather, orgies, threesomes, polyamory, public sex, “ageplay” etc.

I mean I already feel strongly these are not the same but its pretty clear some people inside and outside the LGB get the wrong idea about all of us. Some of us don’t want that shit as the face of our community and many of us have the basic comprehension to not do so in front of TV cameras.

I hope we can move towards meaningful activism intended to help people in other places secure basic rights and lessen abuse, work on domestic violence, mental wellness/illness treatment for those who need and substance abuse, decent representation that isn’t focused on everything about a personality is gay. Etc.

Also don’t mean to discredit work already done currently in these areas, I just would like to see the community have more time for these things.

In my state we can still be denied housing, and until the recent decision, jobs based on sexual orientation. These are the rights I am talking about. These are rights that need secured. My partner grew up in an area in a different state that was a solid 20+ years behind socially from mine, and I wouldn’t say mine was current to cities.

There’s a major difference in smaller rural towns vs even small cities for people who depending on the town may need that legal assist depending on how bad things are. Even in places with the laws they can still descriminate but at least there’s foothold to stand on if one decides to put the energy and money into a lawsuit. I saw it happen to friends over the years, with good rental history, good jobs, the only difference in them getting a place was lying saying they were friends vs saying they were two engaged women.

I want to see the EA fix things like this, not cater to trans made up problems about access to things they do not and should not have access to. There’s a reasonable right to pee but they don’t need access to the women’s changing rooms or locker rooms, they don’t need to be in women’s sports. Those are NOTHING like being LGB and I hate that they’re grouped with our movement and rights and have taken over our organizations.

Also re:cake, the cake case had to be appealed upwards then decided on by the supreme court, it was their choice to take it, they took it not because of the specifics of the case but because it likely relates to compelled and free speech. You legally may have the right to request something, but a service provider can technically refuse. This was a good move for artists and service workers and I actually support the decision.

It’s disheartening, they really are.

They literally did this with multiple bills, congress would be almost able to pass a bill to give rights to same sex attracted people and then itd be like, “we can’t leave the T behind” well the T has separate issue? How many LGB people missed out on years of certain rights, how many died out of hopelessness, because “we can’t [pass separate laws for a group of different people].” Many of us didn’t get a say in waiting.

It’s an accessory. I read a comment from someone in gen z at some point saying that most people in gen z literally see being lgbt/queer as an aesthetic and nothing to do with anything else. It makes sense, except a surprising number of the people into this are also millennials or gen x and even boomers.

  1. “Its the oldest job!” Wow who would have thought
  2. “But I like it!” Thanks for sharing creep.
  3. “But DisABled MeN.” I’m disabled so this one seriously makes me so angry, its always some fucking able bodied person or mentally ill person and not someone with a physical disability too.
  4. “The age of consent...” you know if it starts there it usually goes down hill
  5. “Women are already equal, so...”
  6. “Why do you care what other people do in their bedroom” well considering a man just killed a lesbian and tried to play it off as kink gone wrong uwu not murder, and considering how easy that cover is for abuse, and considering how many young women have had to go to the ER or died from strangling/prolapses, and considering how many friends who’ve cried about horrible experiences, no.

I’m not sure what her real opinions are on anything, honestly. I don’t view her videos as authentic, after years of her social media wavering I trust her less than ever. It doesn’t mean she’s bad, she’ll get shit no matter what and I respect that she still speaks out. I just ... hate some of her videos and think they’re gross, weird, inappropriate, etc and also seen her flip flop so much at this point.
