The article very clearly says that men send out more junk applications where they don't meet the qualifications than women do. The only thing this proves is that men take more stabs in the dark. "Women felt they had to meet 100% of the qualifications, while men felt they had to meet only 60%". What the fuck does that have to do with affirmative action?
