No, no, you see, lesbians are non-men who love non-men, so a lesbian would still love her girlfriend after transition. But trans men are men, and you're a bigot if you question that. Lesbians should be open to dating trans women because they are women, but they should be open to dating trans men, because they're non-men, or rather they used to be, but they were always really men. Also you can be a he/him lesbian.

I hope I cleared that up.

The Gateway Pundit is trash. (Just read this article about George Floyd to see how badly they can twist facts into absurd conclusions. George Floyd was murdered by police. That's objective fact clearly proven by video.)

Here's a less sensationalized version of the story in the OP: https://fox59.com/news/crimetracker/indy-mother-becomes-2nd-homicide-along-downtown-canal-in-1-week/

There was no "mob", just two groups of assholes who encountered each other and went as far as flashing guns. It started over "a slang version of the N-word" (nigga?). There's no transcript of what was said but based on the known circumstances, there were no heroes here.

Obviously this murder should still be punished - an ambush with a gun is damn cowardly, too - but OP's headline is very misleading. This happened at 3am between two armed groups that got into an argument over race.

The original proposal dates back to 2019. For the nerds in the audience, here it is: https://www.unicode.org/L2/L2020/20190r-swollen-belly-emoji.pdf

Choice quote:

One’s sex does not dictate the capacity to care for children in the home or work in the market. In the same way sex equality law has aimed combat harmful sex stereotypes, there are a great deal of parallels regarding how one’s sex does not dictate the capacity to cary children.

This is not a new phenomenon. Pregnancy has been indiscriminate of gender throughout history but it is only now being formally recognized. The British Medical Association’s (BMA’s) advises to use ‘pregnant people’ instead of the stereotype term ‘pregnant woman’. And, although ‘a large majority of people who have been pregnant or have given birth identify as women’, there are intersex men and transmen who get pregnant.

Jessica Clarke, a law professor at Harvard University, suggests that, ‘law could see pregnancy not as something that only happens to women’s bodies, but also as a bodily condition experienced by people who do not identify as women’.

Interestingly, the proposal does acknowledge this emoji can be used for things like being full after eating Chipotle.

That's victim-blaming right there. (Not that she wasn't an idiot standing where she was when she could've been off to the side.) The truck clearly moves forward too much and too suddenly, then keeps going, into the pit, as the woman tries to stop it. The driver doesn't seem to understand how to operate the truck properly. Then he gets out via the window (when the door wasn't even blocked) and tries to push the truck out of the pit.

The woman is just a bit dumb. The driver is severely mentally deficient and a killer.

Floyd?

Saying you can't breathe and then dying is "resisting" now?

Also I read the "bodycam transcript" and within the first few lines I see police needlessly escalating while Floyd is apologizing. Maybe he's not fully following instructions because he's confused... maybe. Shouting and swearing isn't going to help that situation. The police approach of using force and abuse at the slightest bit of perceived noncompliance is totally fucked.

People don't deserve to be shot or choked just because they can't play police's fucked-up "Simon says" games well or quick enough.

And even if Floyd was methed up and violent (which he wasn't) it still wouldn't justify kneeling on him for 8 minutes, which would still be murder. George Floyd was murdered. If you can't agree with that simple objectively true statement then I don't even know how to talk to you.

What in the actual hell are you talking about? "Gain height and get a view of the woman"?! His truck had rammed into the wall directly in front of him at that point. If he can't tell what just happened and needs to "get a view" then he's beyond retarded.

His first instinct should have been to back the truck out. He likely wouldn't be able to get the front wheels out of the pit, but he may have been able to reverse a few inches. He should have at least tried.

Even if he was worried about doing more damage by trying to reverse, he should've just opened the door and gotten out. Same if he wanted to see if the woman had ducked into the pit. There is no reason for him to climb out of the window.

That's all beside the fact that he seems unable to properly inch the truck forward. He doesn't just overestimate a little and pop the front wheels over the lip of the pit. He goes full forward and rams into the wall. There is no excuse for that.

My issue with the /s/Oneda's post is that he blames the woman, saying she "overestimated how much it should move forward". No she fucking didn't. She was telling the driver to move forward because there was still space to move forward. She wasn't expecting the idiot behind the wheel to floor it into the wall.

If I'm telling my friend how far he can back up his car and there's still a couple of feet left, and I say, "Yeah, keep going," and wave my hand, and he floors it and rams into the wall behind him before I can even react, that's not my fault, it's his. Of course I wouldn't be standing right behind his car (that is stupid, I don't deny that), but he'd still be the idiot and responsible for any damage he caused and I'd tell him to fuck off if he tried to blame me.

[–]Ladis_Wascheharuum 14 insightful - 3 fun14 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, it's real and valid. (And I know that sentence sounds like a TRA but hear me out.)

Labels are valid when they communicate some useful information about something. When someone says they're heteroflexible I get a good idea of what they mean: They are mostly heterosexual but may occasionally have homosexual urges or behaviors. There's nothing wrong with that, and there's nothing wrong with putting a label to it.

Labels are bad when they are so esoteric that they need to be defined nearly every time they're used, or when they lack a consistent definition altogether and can be anything. All the stargenders are useless because they fall into at least one, and usually both, of those categories.

I also think the "bisexual" label is a bit questionable around the edges, the Kinsey 1s and 5s. Sure you can say that a bisexual is anyone who isn't completely hetero or homosexual, but that covers a lot of ground. Is a man who has only ever had hetero relationships and watches almost only hetero porn, but a couple of times a year looks at a picture of a twink just to get started (but can't actually finish with that so switches back to women) still a bisexual? Does it really communicate anything useful for him to call himself that? Are we applying a "one drop" (of precum) rule here? I'd call him "mostly straight", but with a just a little bit of homosexual attraction.

I want to reinforce this point: Labels aren't inherently bad. It's about getting useful concepts condensed into widely-known words. I don't see a problem with hetero/homoflexible being used for the Kinsey 1s and 5s.

Of course there are also people who would use these labels out of shame and to hide what they really are, but that's a more general problem. Lots of gays and lesbians call themselves "bi" for years because they don't want to admit, often to themselves, that they are gay.

Actually the opposite for me. I've seen guys that look like greyshirt, but the one in brown, especially this first pic where they're smiling, is just a woman's face with a light beard drawn on. The smile, the cheeks, the eyebrows, are all very feminine.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. We're actually in agreement, except for shirt color names. The one in the glasses and grey shirt passes. The other one not so much.

Nah. These fucks were bullies who were deliberately making the guy's life miserable. They were threatening him even in this video. There are people who have learned, through experience, how to harass and hurt others at a level that's just below what the local "authorities" will take seriously. They can carry on campaigns like this for years and be so adept at recording evidence to make any response from their victims look like unprovoked attacks.

That can take a serious mental toll on the victim. With no way to effectively fight back (unlike the bullies, the victim is not skilled in lies, manipulation, and sustained coordinated harassment) the victim eventually sees the only way to end the pain is to do something extreme. The shooter in this video was so broken down by this couple that the only way he had to stop their attacks was to end all of them.

If you don't see how that is possible, then you are either being purposely blind, or have lived a very sheltered and privileged life.

If you have any sexual interest in both sexes, even if it's a 99/1 split, then you're bisexual.

From my perspective, this seems like a poor categorization method. Someone with a 99/1 split is more similar in practice to the 100/0 than to the 1/99. It feels too much like "bisexual" is just a bucket you dump anyone who isn't "pure" enough. I said it before but there's an uncomfortable undertone that reminds me of the "one drop rule" of racial purity, that anyone who is even slightly impure is "mixed".

But unless someone is bisexual, sexuality isn't a spectrum.

You have homosexual attraction and heterosexual attraction, and those can exist in any amount in a person. That's a spectrum.

Labels are important if you're only interested in men or women and not both.

What do you need to use the label for? Serious question. What do you see as the practical purpose(s) of the label, and why would it be different for bisexuals?

I always thought of Bisexuals and Pansexuals as perhaps the most sexually evolved of our species. They aren’t obsessed with or distracted by genitals. They don’t hyperfocus on gender roles and instead see beyond the gender exterior and base their attraction on an individual’s quality of character.

What a bunch of crap. I'm bi, and my sexuality is about sex. Sure, personality and emotional connection are important for a relationship, but for the act of sex, the ancient lizard brain in me needs to look at another person and say, "Yep, I want to mate with this creature." And my lizard brain is not going to be convinced by long treatises on systematic oppression or psudoscientific claims of gendered brains. It just wants to fuck things that look fuckable.

As much as I’m lauding Bisexuals

Speaking as a bisexual, please don't.

studies show over 80% of them traditionally end up in Male/Female relationships

That is because over 90% of our potential willing partners are the opposite sex.

So, most of the time, without Transwomen having access to dating gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, and relegated to the shadows by the straight men looking to fulfill some porn hub fantasy, where does that leave us?

Easy: You can date each other. Is that not "validating" enough? Surely, if you believe that trans women are women and trans men are men, then a trans partner will be just as good as a cis one. Better, even, since they'll understand your struggle with oppression. Perfect match, I'd say.

This sub isn't too bad, all things considered.

There is just a lack of awareness that bisexuals have their own unique problems, not just "part-time homophobia". They're stereotyped in unflattering ways, similar to Ls and Gs, but not quite the same. (Being sex-maniacs, always up for threesomes, unfaithful.) They're accused of faking (which does happen, sometimes for understandable reasons, but doesn't mean all are fakers) They're accused of having privilege, or easy sex lives. (There is a fair number of people, straight and gay, who will say they would never date a bisexual. Again, seen as untrustworthy or unfaithful by nature.)

I don't mean to be entering the oppression-olympics here. The point is that bisexuals are just people, who, like the Ls and Gs, want to live their lives in peace. A little bit of empathy goes a long way. We're not trying to redefine genders, deny science, compel speech, or demand sexual partners. (Some bisexuals do get very salty about those who don't want to date us, but really, those ones need to suck it up.) We just have non-standard wants in our sex lives, and we have that in common with all LGBs.

Only thing to do with haters is to remind them of that. They'll listen or not, but also remember that online, you're not trying to convince the person you're arguing with. The odds are too shit for that. You're really trying to convince the people who are watching the argument, the lurkers. So, debunk the bad stereotypes where you can, encourage empathy. That's it, as far as I can suggest.

This is why I tend to speak up for asexuals, who all too often have their problems dismissed by LGBs. They're told they don't experience discrimination or abuse, or that they can easily pass as straight, but really they are inundated with constant messages that they're abnormal or mentally or hormonally defective, they face disappointed families and attempts at "fixing" them, and they get accused of faking the label (and some people do identify as asexual just because they're shy/scared/unlucky in sex and drop the label later in life -- sound familiar?) All they really want to is live their lives in peace with their own sexuality.

[–]Ladis_Wascheharuum 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yep, I'm in the minority with you. I think "preference" is the most accurate description. I don't choose what I prefer, I just do. Preference doesn't mean I'm fine with other options. I prefer having million dollars to being totally broke. Obviously one of those is something I don't like or want at all, but the contrast is still a preference.

Meanwhile I think "orientation" is a silly word. Makes me think of holding a compass and a map and looking at the sun trying to figure out which cardinal direction I'm oriented towards. There's nothing permanent implied by the word orientation either. I change my spatial orientation by spinning around in my chair.

But we live in a world where politics stakes its flags on every bit of vocabulary. I think this battle is lost, for now.

Having to create a new account on a different site just for one sub is a pain in the ass, relatively speaking.

I went through a brief period where I though agender would be the label for me. Gender self-identification seemed so important to everyone on the internet, so I felt pressured to have that identity, and since I didn't "feel" like a man or a woman (I only felt that I physically have a dick) then the logical conclusion was that I was agender.

Then I realizes that all these super-duper-important labels and identities that it was "literal violence" to get wrong, actually could mean anything and everything and nothing at any time. The whole concept was totally incoherent and the explanations made no sense. I finally figured out it was all bullshit made up by people wanting to be special or feel offended, and a lot of gullible people wanting to belong got swept up in it.

My sex is male. I have a penis and testicles. Don't ask me about my gender until you can define it properly.

What's your opinion on consensual consanguinamory (a.k.a. incest)? by [deleted] in AskSaidIt

[–]Ladis_Wascheharuum 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

If it's consensual (as in actually informed consent without coercion or power imbalance stuff) and there is no breeding, then I can't find any moral objection to it.

There is something called the Westermarck Effect, by which people tend to be sexually repulsed by people they have grown up with closely -- that is, their family. The evolutionary basis is pretty easy to understand. Inbreeding tends to produce unhealthy offspring. Those who don't screw their own family have healthier children with better survival and breeding odds. Evolution dislikes incest.

I think a lot of people feel the "ick" factor and then invent overreaching moral objections to incest altogether. Actually, I think this is how a lot of people develop their morals. They feel something is bad in their "guts" and try to come up with reasons for why that feeling is correct.

In truth, if there is no inbreeding between immediate family, nor continued inbreeding (over several generations) between extended family, then there is no concern over healthy offspring. If the relationship is consenting and all involved are satisfied, then it is immoral to prevent it, as it treads on the rights of the participants.

So: The "consenting adults'' rule applies. The "gross" feeling you get is not a substitute for proper moral reasoning.

  1. Just don't state pronouns, ignore the request if you can. (i.e. If asked for name and pronouns, just give your name, and move on.) If pressed, then move to the next step.

  2. "I don't feel comfortable doing that."

  3. "You're making me feel really uncomfortable. Please stop."

  4. Go for the outwoke route you mentioned. Explain that demanding pronouns can be traumatic and triggering for various people, including trans people who aren't out, gendervariant/genderflux/agender people, people who are questioning their own gender, etc.

That is exactly what happened, I remember those years. "Bi" still meant "two" and "pan" was created for people who were also attracted to trans or intersex (those shouldn't be conflated either, but that's what it was then). It was still acknowledged that attraction to trans people wasn't universal, or even a majority. There was even a specific label (skoliosexual) for attraction to trans people.

Pansexual was meant for people who had homo, hetero, and skoliosexual attraction.

But then in the 2010s not dating trans people became transphobic, so any sexuality that excluded them was no longer "valid", but being bisexual still had some cool cred. To resolve this contradiction, they redefined bisexuality to include trans people. Skoliosexuality as a label got swept under the rug, as far as I can tell.

The cultural messaging, especially from the left, is less "sex positive" and more "sex-pushy" these days. Hook-ups and first-date sex are presented as the normal, default way to live. (Related is the idea of "vanilla" sex being a boring thing for stodgy religious boomers.) This is regardless of what actual people generally want. People who don't want these things are trying to communicate their style, without being deemed conservative, sex-negative prudes. The tool they reach for is the liberal label machine. It makes sense.

Some of it is for attention, sure. But some is just a way of escaping the pressures of society, and to communicate in an acceptable way what kind of dating partner you want. The fact is "I don't do sex on the first few dates" can sound like a preference that can be overcome by the right challenger. "I'm demisexual" sounds more like a firm warning against disrespecting identity, lest one incur the wrath of wokeism.

It's a label that shouldn't be needed, but to me it's completely understandable why some think they do need it.

[–]Ladis_Wascheharuum 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Is sex determined by phenotype or genotype?

Phenotype, strictly speaking. There is a lot of talk about primary and secondary sexual characteristics, and I think people are getting confused about it all. Male and female, biologically, are defined by the gamete-producing organs of an organism. In humans, that means ovaries or testes. This is fundamental because it's what sexual reproduction is based on and what the entire concept of sex is built upon.

Nearly every human was born with structures to produce one of the types of gametes: sperm or ova. Despite any disorder of sexual development or intersex condition, it's virtually certain they have either ovaries or testes.

Having none at birth is a very rare anomaly. From strictly biological view, such a person is neuter. (Despite this, an argument can be made that they still have a sex that can be determined by which organs "should" have developed if whatever blocking factor were removed.) Having both at birth is beyond rare and biologically such a person would be a true hermaphrodite. These two kinds of people are the only ones who can possibly claim to be neither male nor female, or both, and there are maybe a few thousands or tens of thousands of them in the entire world.

For example: Caster Semenya was born with testes, just ones that didn't develop properly and remained internal. Despite outward appearance, Caster Semenya is male, biologically.

Sounds like whatever "test" you took was the problem. (Got a link?) There is no definitive test for the Kinsey scale, anyway. At least, not yet. The unfortunate reality is "if you're explaining, you're losing".

That said, you can use "LGB" where possible and mention "the T is different". Mention that being gay isn't an illness because it doesn't require hormones or surgery to treat, being trans does. Mention that being gay isn't about demanding things from others, and doesn't involve others, while being trans demands constant validation and change of language from everyone, all the time.

Is Asexuality a sexuality or not? by EzukiRaen in LGBDropTheT

[–]Ladis_Wascheharuum 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Coming at it from a scientific or even mathematical point of view, yes, it is. If you regard homosexual attraction as one binary value (0 or 1, off or on), and heterosexual attraction as another, then you have four possible combinations: 01, 10, 11, and of course 00.

Is zero a number? There was a time centuries ago when people argued that it wasn't - numbers are for counting things, and you can't count zero things. Zero is the absence of things. Yet, zero ended up being a fundamental concept that modern mathematics can't do without. The empty set is still a set.

Asexuality is still a category of sexuality on par with L/G/B. And on a social level, the A's do face discrimination. (I'm sick of people who really should know better arguing that asexuals can easily pass as straight and aren't demeaned.) Trying being a 40-year-old virgin, or even someone who's never had a significant other. People will look at you differently, whisper about you and how much of a loser, loner, social incompetent and/or creep you must be. Families will try to pressure you to date and will eventually see you as a disappointment (and in the case of men, a total failure because A Man Is Not a Virgin). As another comment here astutely pointed out, often it's the lack of normal attraction/relationships that is seen as perverse. Asexuals definitely experience that.

Labels are really useful for us.

We all have our biases and see the world through our own experience. I'll never claim to speak for all bisexuals (I'm a bit odd no matter what) but I can see how labels are both practical and limiting, and perhaps for lesbians it's much more the former and for bisexuals it's more the latter. I don't like the "baggage" that comes with my label, even if I use it for practical reasons.

My point is that, while I think a bit like your friend, I don't think I'm a homophobe. I've given up on gender ideology as it's an illogical mess. I don't think lesbians should be shamed, or even gently convinced, into trying dick. If you want only biological women, that's your call, and no one else's. I don't think your friend's statement are red flags. You need more information before you jump to judgement. That's all I'm saying.

If someone is only interested in, say, men, you can't say that their sexuality is a spectrum.

I would agree that an individual's sexuality isn't a spectrum (like a single wavelength of color is not a spectrum) but it lies on a spectrum that exists, which was my real point.

I use a lesbian label on a dating site

See, that's fine. I believe labels are great if they're practical for usefully identifying things. On a dating site, it's totally fair game to say you're lesbian, because it's hugely useful there, as a time saver.

In my ideal world, though, if you saw a woman you fancied you shouldn't need to figure out if she's a lesbian, you'd just ask her out. If she gave a "no", would it really matter if she was straight or just not into you? You're not getting together either way, so there's no practical benefit to having a label in that situation.

So basically, I feel like I need to firstly analyse how 'woke' the bisexual person to see if he/she's a decent bisexual person. And I didn't come out to her because I've already seen typical red flags from her such as "Oh, I don't need to label myself, everyone's on a spectrum". When I asked her, for example, what kind of guys and girls does she like, she said she "didn't know, all she knows is that she's attracted to some women". Basically she always gave very vague, non concrete answers.

This actually sounds a lot like me. I think people are too invested in sexuality labels. In my ideal world, you wouldn't try to figure out if someone is gay/straight/bi before asking them out, you'd just ask them out (and immediately respect a "No, thanks"). I also don't know how to summarily explain what I'm attracted to, because everything I can mention comes with a dozen exceptions, and exceptions to those exceptions. It's a matter of "I know hot when I see it." I'd also give vague, non-committal answers if someone I didn't trust very well was asking.

Why don't you feel safe around this person? You say she's your friend. Have you ever talked politics with her? Gave your own opinion on current events? Maybe the best way to get the answers you want is to be more direct. Not necessarily point-blank doing a survey of her attitudes, but bring the topic around to these issues and see what her opinions are.

Americans: who did you vote for? by chokeonartichoke in Lesbians

I could understand why someone would vote Trump in 2016. Hillary Clinton was just sleazy and gross establishment puppet, and Trump presented himself as a brick through the window of the establishment, someone who wouldn't give a shit about pleasing the political elite and wouldn't be held back by tradition. He promised change in a way weirdly similar to Obama's. People who were sick and tired of the regular back-and-forth American politics could see past his bumbling and have faith that he would shake things up.

In 2020, I believe you'd have to be a complete moron to vote for Trump. He wasn't so much an establishment disrupter, as he was an idiotic manbaby who ruled through tantrums, wasted every opportunity for good with his pettiness, and blew away all of America's international goodwill and any remaining moral standing it had. I can't fathom how any American could look at the last four years and say, "That was great, I'll take another!"

But apparently half of Americans do just that.

Because, between the confused gay teens calling themselves bi, the attention-seeking straight teens calling themselves bi, the perception of bisexuals being promiscuous, the perception of bisexuals being smugly self-righteous, the perception of bisexuals being "unreliable" members of the LGB community, the perception of bisexuals being just as sinful and perverted as L&Gs by the straight community, the perception of bisexuals being transphobic by the woke community, and several other issues, being "bisexual" can feel genuinely lonely and even fraudulent.

They did reject pedophilia as a legitimate sexual choice—but not, as one might hope, through thoughtful application of moral principles to sexual behavior. Rather, they simply declared that minors are by definition unable to give consent.

I don't see the objection here? What "moral principles of sexual behavior" are we talking about, other than informed consent? The fact that it grosses out or makes uncomfortable someone who is not involved, or arguments from "nature" or "social norms", are not valid objections in my opinion.

The only standard that makes sense is, "Are all participants willing, aware of the risks, and not being coerced nor defrauded." Actually, I'd say that goes for any human interaction, sexual or not.

Most of the people who tend to enunciate their assexuality are not assexual at all, but straights trying to get easy social opression points to flaunt on twitter.

This is also true of bisexuality, and while it frustrates me, a bi dude, it doesn't mean bisexuals don't exist as a real group.

Calling bullshit on his claims about his friend being raped because of his asexuality, also.

The reason why corrective rape is often used for a method of conversion therapy against homosexuals (I dunno if it's a practice that is performed upon bisexuals, but do tell me if it is!) is because the people who utilise such methods deem homosexual desires or thoughts to be repulsive and that homosexual individuals must be taught a lesson. It is because of their same-sex attraction. Nothing more.

No, corrective rape of asexuals happens. It's not just about eliminating homosexual desires, it's about implanting "good" sexual behavior, the kind that naturally come with social gender roles. It's a mistake to downplay how much society expects this, and how angry people get at someone different. Heck, some people can accept homosexuals because they still perform sexually, just "wired a bit wrong" in an endearing way, but see asexuals as truly damaged and abnormal because a total lack of sex is unthinkable unless there's a serious, serious problem.

A reserved girl who doesn't have sex is seen as a frigid bitch who thinks she's better than men and who needs to be taught a lesson so she can be more "fun". An outgoing girl who doesn't have sex is seen as a tease, a waste, and is asking for it, so she needs to be opened up to get her "on the market".

A guy who doesn't have sex is seen as just pathologically shy or immature, and needs to be shown first-hand sex to get him out of his shell so that he can finally enjoy that awesome part life he's been missing that everyone else is doing.

I don't drink alcohol, and you'd be amazed at how much people push me to try some every time I go out. The pressure is constant because not-drinking is seen as perverse, comments like "how do you have any fun, though?" are frequent, and assumptions that there must be something seriously wrong with me abound. It gets to the point of harassment sometimes with people trying to get me to "loosen up" and I have to rudely snap at people to get them to shut up. I've lost track of how many times I've been handed a drink that clearly has alcohol in it when I've asked for something else. (Like I can't tell?!)

I absolutely believe this is similar to the asexual experience. One of the things I don't like on this sub is the dismissal of asexuals. They've got real problems. Not precisely the same as LGB, but I'd honestly expect a bit more empathy.

I've never seen a truscum insist that others must date/fuck them. Not saying it never happens, though.

Truscum at least understand that being trans is a medical condition and not everyone can be trans just by saying they are. They are generally more rational than the others.

It's a tool that's suitable for some purposes. A hammer is a useful tool but you shouldn't use it to put in screws.

If you need a more in-depth assessment, you'd need separate scales for:
Sexual attraction target
Sexual attraction magnitude
Romantic attraction target
Romantic attraction magnitude

I don't think it's a good idea to want to know these numbers about someone before dating them. That should be a very individual thing. Certainly it's a bad idea to pre-judge people based on such scales.

It may be a useful thing to know about yourself, but not necessarily. I can see it helping someone become more grounded and comfortable with themselves, but also limiting their growth or becoming tribal or obsessed.

The one place I can see such assessments being useful is in mental health statistics. For better or worse, sexuality and romance affect us hugely, sometimes in very bad ways. Mental health treatment could probably be better implemented if we understood more of how they work.

I'm pretty sure that study was exaggerated. It was about some small structure in the brain, the difference was only found in autopsies, and there was never a solid conclusion whether the difference was present before hormonal transition (i.e. we don't know whether it's the cause or effect of transition).

There is only one problem I see with your post:

There is, in fact, a difference between the protests against COVID-19 lockdowns, and the protests against police, and there is no hypocrisy in criticizing the former but not the latter.

The first is essentially a protest against emergency measures intended to protect the population against a serious threat. The economic damage created by such measures is up for debate. Accusations of "government overreach" are borderline-laughable. There are plenty of ways the American government overreaches already, in far more serious ways, and none have garnered the response the anti-pandemic measures have. It takes a particularly extreme view of liberty to claim that government should not have the power to control a serious disease outbreak. The protests against COVID-19 do indeed have the air of entitled folks who rail against any disruption to their lives for the common good.

The second, the protests against police brutality, are a genuine response against a group of people literally being allowed to kill innocent American citizens with impunity, and a multi-layered system that protects them to absurd degrees. The issue is serious, real, and has shown no signs of abating over decades. Indeed, violent protest seems like the only way to make any progress on this issue. The timing against the backdrop of COVID-19 is truly awful, but the grievance is legitimate and heavy.
