The same question remain,

Why so many people keep wasting a lot of time reading news while (at least, most people here) we are all aware that we are intentionally misinformed?

I believe the answer is lazyness. But I'm not totally sure, because in my opinion, once you start connecting with people around, doing actual stuff like gardening, trading goods and service, networking (in person and on the internet), life start to make sens and it will only be helpful to deal with all the coming problem. Criticizing society won't do anything good, it won't bring bread on your table and it will unlikely help to make meaningful relationships.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that it is time to work and encourage people to do something and stop worrying about the world.

I garden and grow fruits. I'm using permaculture techniques and all sort of things. Did you know you can make good fertilizer just by throwing stuff in a water bucket? Look it up for more details (liquid fertilizer), simply adding plants and water then wait 2 weeks. Some people even throw fish parts and other stuff. The only downside is the smell. Beside that, it is much better than the powder they sell that is probably made of animal urine (you can also use your own, just dilute by 1 to 6 water). I've also started vermicomposting. Quite eazy and no need to buy worm, just need to find a hundred or so and they will multiply quite fast as long as they got plenty of space.

I am learning woodworking skills. From green, fine to more industrial woodworking, lumber processing, etc. I really like bushcraft for its simplicity. Just need a very few tool set and a lot can be done. Some tool recommendation: Mora Companion, Hultafor trekking axe, Zubat and Katanaboy zilky saw and a couple of bahco bow saw blade (24 inch+) to make your own wooden bow saw with some paracord.

On top of that, I am also doing a lot of networking online and in person, it is well worth it. I believe the most important thing right now is to start doing a lot of transaction (whatever the currency is, trading, crypto, money, other kind of trading system) with people.

I cook food. I also do canning, I highly recommend printing the USDA canning guide. I try to identify plants around to do foraging. There are so many, most I use to make herbal teas.

I highly recommend starting waste management. The Humanure hanbook from Jenkin explain how to shit in a bucket to make compost. No need to read the full book. Basicly, get a bucket, throw wood shaving in then shit and pee in it (don't go just to pee, I think). Add wood shaving, it shouldn't smell. Once the bucket is full, there are different ways to go for, but in simple, empty in a bigger bucket. Once this bigger bucket is full, let it sit for at least a year, 2 if you want to make sure everything is fine. Then start filling another big bucket.

Money is a good thing. If you want to buy new things, new rockets, instead of keep doing the same thing over, then it's gonna cost more money. And other things need more money too. So having achieved what the president wanted us to do, and then what thousands, millions of people in America, and millions of people around the world... PETA is being hated by pop culture... so I would assume they are not enemies. And yes, killing animals is saving animals. If you don't agree with that, then why aren't you working in a shelter? There's too many wandering animals suffering and it will only keep growing if they are not handled properly. Since almost no one want to care for these lost animals, there isn't much to be done. And people got to remember that domestic animals aren't wild animals, most of them can't survive living in the wild. The best example is the domesticated cow. We genetically selected an animal that serve no other purpose than to be a prey, they are docile, super fat without much defense beside their horns.

The articles state that they don't know the cause of death. She didn't die of starvation if she was eating variety of fruits and veggies. Her pictures either shows an underlying medical condition (which is often the case with people who follows very strict diets) or an unbalanced diet. She may have died of starvation if she's been fasting for too long (another common way used to cure medical condition) or if she didn't eat enough variety. She may have had B12 deficiency unless she didn't clean the food or drink uncleaned water (which could have caused colera) but both won't necessary provide enough B12 (there isn't lot of information about B12 from what I would call a wild diet).

It's mostly not original content even when it looks like it. On reddit, I was "debating" with someone about some right issue. The "other user" simply took some of my sentences and added some non sens answer to it. It was basicly the following: We (everyone) are unworthy, ttrust the "expert", we don't matter so we deserve to be limited, etc. I responded a lot of message and this "person" kept responding similar stuff about an hour after I replied. I think it had been over a week. I was kinda shock to see that much dedication (even though this was low value content) on a single user. Could also have been some kind of bot, hard to tell, but there's many of them and they don't act the same. And there are (probably) clueless people mixed in answering stupid stuff. Some of these potentially clueless people are probably less then 16 years old. Or these can be other shills that reply dumb stuff.

I'm from Quebec and it is sort of similar on the Quebec reddit. I am convinced that this subreddit is owned by a political party (Option National) and is using censorship to its advantage. I've also heard some of the 2 moderators made false claim on another user about an ongoing investigation. This user apparently had real problem with officers (don't recall what exactly) and didn't get anything in return for these false accusation, only got problems. They ban people with different political ideas for "being rude" but they let people who started being rude in the first place when they agree with them (like most other popular sub).

It is simple, work!

I believe the most important to do right now to to establish trading with people. Most people no longer rely on each other, most of our needs rely on big corps, not on people. No wonder that we see so many people hating each other so easily, people have lost respect because they don't depend on each other. There's a lot to do and we're likely able to get something great if we gather all the competent people and start working together. It is not easy work, but at least life start to make sens. We need to stop fearing and limiting ourselves because of some people saying weird stuff and pretending that someting or someone can control everything.

That is not how it works. NVC is the name of the tool for communicating more efficiently. Let me try to explain the meaning of these words. Using communication with judgement (which is what Marshall call violent communication, or Jackal) isn't an efficient way to get what you want. While words can hurt people, in the end, they are just words. Like, if someone here tells you he will murder you, you'll likely just not care. If the same person is in front of you, you could still not care as long as you don't consider it a threat. But if you consider this person to be threatening, now you will be more likely to do something about it, either defend, fligh or do what is asked (if it is an option). But the point of NVC is to be better understood and understand other people better, which makes everything more efficient. It can helps prevent turning a simple event into a drama, making everyone frustrated and not well understood instead of going forward. NVC doesn't prevent you from saying that you are willing to use violence to make something happen (if this is really what you are up to).

I've made the switch this year and I am very happy with it. I've been using Windows my whole life and I wish I switched before. It is simply better. Of course, it is less ready out of the box, but there is much more possibility and it is not spying on you. Windows also tried to download everything on my computer to put it on their cloud without my permission. I also had a Windows 7 laptop and it started upgrading to Windows 10... while I was working on it! I am not kidding, I leaved my laptop for like 5 minutes, come back and it is installing Windows 10... I was working on a project, it is unbelievable. And the more people accept this kind of stuff, the less our computer actually belongs to us. It becomes their machine, they decide what you can do with it.

And they didn't even relieve previous charges from honest citizens who got caught selling when it was "illegal". It took me long enough to figure out that this was actually bad. They just decided that they could mistreat very honest citizen because they do competition to big pharma (and likely other reasons, since it is still illegal to grow our own). But people keep reading the news not realizing how shitty our society is. There's still a lot of rumors of cops stealing weed plant too.

Because we didn't go there and that's the way it happened, and if it didn't happen it's nice to know why it didn't happen, so in the future if we want to keep doing something, we need to know why something stopped in the past that we wanted to keep it going. Money is a good thing. If you want to buy new things, new rockets, instead of keep doing the same thing over, then it's gonna cost more money. And other things need more money too. So having achieved what the president wanted us to do, and then what thousands, millions of people in America, and millions of people around the world... You know when we toured around the world after we came back, the most fascinating observation was signs that said 'We did it'. Not just us. But we, the world. They felt like they were part of what we were able to do. And that made us feel very good."

I'd like to add to this the Non violent communication. It is a tool to communicate. It has been very helpful to me to understand the world better and to make myself better understanded, heck it even helped me understand myself. The way I see it is, it is a tool, so like a hammer, it can do things, but it won't do it all by itself, nor it can accomplish everything, there are also some limitations, I believe Stoicism is a good fit to fill the gap. Communication is probably the most important thing humans created, yet we're not taugh so well to communicate efficiently. Even with all the tools we've got today, communication is still an issue.

Here's a good start for learning NVC:

It is a conference by the inventor of NVC humself (Marshall Rosenberg). I'd also recommend looking for other content about NVC and going back to the link above to really make sure you understand it. It requires some practice, but it is definitely worth it and it isn't that hard.

Mac obviously become quickly obsolete, Windows can be manageable, but it is hard to make it run smooth when it starts to slow down, but I think just reinstalling does work most of the time. Don't know for Linux yet, but if you know what you're doing, then there shouldn't be any slowing down.

If you're not sure about switching to linux, you can boot for a USB key. Everything is explained here. There are many linux distros, if you aren't computer savy, Ubuntu (and its variation, like Kubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, etc) should be a good choice. By booting from a USB key, you can test Linux with your hardware and see if it will work well. If you prefer, you can even just use Linux only from USB key. It is worth it! A quick tip if you need to install drivers for your internet component, use USB tethering with your cell phone. Just connect your phone to PC and activate tethering.

I recently made my own desktop build with parts on sale. No problem so far, I just had some trouble getting the ethernet port working. Little tips for anyone if it happens, just connect your cell phone on USB port of the computer and activate USB tethering, internet will work.

So yeah, unless you need support for very specific things, it generally works. As for laptops, Lenovo and Dell generally works well. There is r/linuxhardware that can be helpful to find about something specific.

The reason we're being censored isn't because our ideas are too unspeakably evil to showcase. It's because if people saw us, they'd know we aren't bad people who deserve to be mistreated. by WaltzRoommate in debatealtright

I ain't alt-right, but one doesn't need to dig very deep to figure out how badly portrayed are alt-right. They are all put in the same category while it seems to actually be far from that (although it might be harder to see it today with all the censorship happening). It reminds me of flat-earther communities. Most people don't even take the time to listen to what they have to say. Some (probably most) are actually communities that want to approach science from a different angle. I believe they also likely enjoy to mislead and troll people by making them think they are insane and stupid. Here how it looks like on media:

Someone post on Reddit a screenshot of a conversation of a mother on FaceBook. Her mother says she is proud of her son who is presenting a flat-earth model of the galaxy at a science exam at an elementary school. The title of the post was something like: dumb mother shouldn't have kids (probably with a lot of cuss). All comments were about how stupid she is and how the kid is so unlucky. Maybe that is true, the problem is how much closed mind people are about it, which lead to censorship. Instead of talking about it, people demonize everything related to it, as if these people where pure evil that shouldn't exist.

Next level business strategy.

I mean for real. It will be hard to beat business like Starbuck if you can't sell anything without getting trouble. Once your rich, the best way to get even more rich is to make other people poorer without them knowing it. The poor people will remember Starbuck as the revolutionary business that held it all together, but now it is no longer there so everything is just collapsing. Wouldn't have happened if they were still there with some rainbow blm cross state line masked posters, right?

In the eyes of a dictator we're no better than the animal stocks in the eyes of a farmer. When we engage in these animal farm practices, we're doing exactly what most of us wouldn't want for themselves: no freedom, no privacy. Farms are like authoritarian governments. We shouldn't let people control other beings like that.

We gotta hunt humans, they are reducing many different populations and causing environmental issues. Government should issue permits to hunt 1 young human male per year with firearm, 1 male with crossbow, and a few more from traps. I believe human exploitation is not necessary, they are usually easier to find in cities (rather than in wilderness), plus China and North Korea already do their fair share of human exploitation. /s

Not entirely true. We, as a society, should explain to children how to defend themselves. I know we can't expect them to defend themselves as well as someone older. But awareness is something important to teach that will help a lot in most case.

On reddit, a kid made a post about child being rape by teacher or something at his school, asking for what could be done about it... people were all talking about adding more rules. I probably was the only one who said that the only person responsible for your own security is yourself. I really hate that sub, it is quite telling of what kind of people there are.
