50 years after Stonewall we are now fighting bisexual people as well as heterosexuals for our right to same-sex attraction by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

The funny thing is that you can always tell which lg people are actually bisexual because they will be the loudest about being lg

Whenever I hear girls goint on about "oh my goddddd im so gay!! Im so gay" they are always bisexual and have only been in relationships with men.

My understanding is that they are extra loud about "being gay" to make up for the fact that they are mostly opposite sex attracted lol

Gender dysphoria and anorexia - strange similarities by QueenOfTheNorth in LGBDropTheT

[–]Jinera 19 insightful - 1 fun19 insightful - 0 fun20 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Hey I am glad I see someone else making the connection.

When I was in my teens I suffered from anorexia, for about 6 years. I have a disorder - which I didn't know about at the time - that, among other things, causes my skin to be very stretchy. I was convinced this was fat, despite being underweight. I knew when I looked in the mirror that I wasn't overweight, but I did see myself as "average", despite being functionally underweight. Until I learned of the disorder I have, and it was like a switch going on in my head: oh. I am not fat after all.

I will admit I still see myself as average, until every now and then I catch a glimpse of myself unexpectedly and I am surprised by how thin I really am.

I was also diagnosed with autism, although both the professionals and me aren't sure if I actually have it - and at this point I do not think I have it. Eating disorders and autism frequently go together. Eating less makes your mind quiet, can make you more numb. Also a lot of autistic people have issues with certain food textures.

For me, my disorder causes me to feel better when I eat small portions. My anorexia was actually rewarded by me feeling better.

Trans people often have autism, last time I checked it was about 20%, but it wouldn't surprise me if the number was higher.

I'll try to explain my theory:

Autism causes people to have a hard time dealing with changes. During puberty a girl's body changes a lot, very fast, without it being in our control. We feel uncomfortable with our body, because not only are these changes hard to deal with in general, but due to autism it is even harder to accept this constantly changing body as our own.

We'd rather have everything stay the same (my fixation was, not ever gaining any weight, rather than specifically losing weight) as it used to be.

Now what most closely resembles the body of a prepubescent girl? The body of a teen boy. No breasts, less fat, no hips.

A girl with autism will look at herself and potentionally see two things: 1. she has too much fat - and wants to lose weight. 2. She has breasts and she doesn't want them.

In the past, this usually resulted - at least I think so - in an eating disorder. Which of course, psychologists will treat appropriately. Now I won't claim the treatment for eating disorders is great, it isn't, but therapists won't go along in the delusions of their patients.

Now, a teen girl with autism, will go online and complain about the curves of her body: she must in fact be a boy!

It's the perfect solution for all her insecurities (or so she is told on social media).

Instead of having her therapists working on her insecurities, she will get medication and surgery to get what she wants: the changes that puberty caused, to be undone.

This is much the same for the girls without autism, with an eating disorder. Getting that curveless, shapeless body is now no longer framed as having an eating disorder, but instead you're told you have gender dysphoria and your self hatred is totally justified.

I know that within the trans community it is not uncommon for ftm's to starve themselves so they won't get bigger breasts - instead of that behaviour being met with horror, it is met with understanding. How different is that truly from anorexic girls starving themselves?

This is why I think that a lot of trans men are autistic. The "gender dysphoria" is a symptom of anorexia and autism, or the combination of both. And instead of getting the appropriate help, therapists feel forced to only treat the gender dysphoria. My(14 yo) sister is a great example of this as well, has anorexia, and autism and identifies as a 7yo boy. You'd say that the therapists would focus on issues like autism and anorexia, but they can't. Social media teaches trans people to be manipulative. "If you do not treat me as a 7yo boy, I will kill myself. If you do not get me to take hormones, I will kill myself." "I will not go to therapy if they do not go along with my identity." And then what? Forcing someone is essentially impossible.

So you're stuck with a cycle. Autistic, anorexic girls think their insecurity is gender dysphoria. They think they can cure their insecurity with testosterone and surgery to remove their breasts (spoiler alert: they can't). Therapists can't get to the core of the issue because either the patient acts like their eating disorder is simply caused by the gender dysphoria (hint: if you don't have an eating disorder, you wouldn't be starving yourself), or because if the therapist does not go along with them, they won't show up to therapy.

I sadly know two girls who were both autistic and anorexic, went on hormones and killed themselves not long after getting their breasts removed. This is a real issue, and I wish psychologists would be more aware/eager to research this.

Edit: and it is only logical that in this cycle, autism comes first, as we know by now that people are born autistic rather than developing it later in life, and that brain imaging can actually tell if people are autistic even from a really young age (in some countries, like Brazil, brain imaging is actually used to confirm the diagnosis of autism, rather than just using tests).

How often do you experience lesbophobia? by QueenOfTheNorth in Lesbians

[–]Jinera 16 insightful - 2 fun16 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I am from the Netherlands, which I consider to be one of the most accepting countries when it comes to homosexuality.

From my own family I haven't encountered any homophobia - at worst, my dad believes femme lesbians do not really exist and they'll all end up with a man. Basically to him, if you look feminine then you cannot be a real lesbian.

When I came out I went to a non-religious high school, in my city there's a christian high school and a non-religious one. All of the muslims in my city go to the non-religious one. I did get a lot of nasty comments about my sexuality there, about how it's unnatural and a disease. But no real violence.

When I changed to go to the christian high school all of that stopped, they were very accepting.

My ex was pakistani (living in the UK) and came from a conservative muslim family, she dealt with a lot of homophobia. This also opened my eyes to the fact that most muslims in my country will not accept me, and judge me. I mean, I know most of them already do not like white girls (white girls are sluts according to a lot of them - the older generation at least, but I also know that a large part of the younger generation believes this. Girls aren't allowed to befriend white girls, and boys will date white girls to have some fun before settling down to marry), let alone a lesbian one haha! So whenever I walk around in cities with a lot of immigrants, like Rotterdam or Amsterdam, hand in hand with a girl I do get stared at, or get called names.

Ironically, when I was in brazil a year ago for three weeks, this did not happen. Not in Rio (where I can imagine the general population to be more accepting due to exposure to tourists and easier access to education), but also in the small city that my ex lived in over an hour away (the "lesbians date women all over the world" is very much true for me lol). I could walk hand in hand and no one would say a thing, or stare at us at all. I felt completely normal. (on another note, it was also the first time I could walk around in short dresses without a single man cat calling me in my entire life!! I did have a man coming up to me to ask me if I could do a photoshoot for him, he was a legit photographer, but that just felt flattering).

I also lived in the biblebelt for a couple of months, but I didn't receive any hatred there either. Most of them will probably be against gay marriage, but they really won't bother you about it if you're an outsider from the community.

Last week I was walking my date (girlfriend?) from the metrostation to my home. I live in a small city, and it was only a short walk. We held hands, because I love holding hands - it's intimate without taking energy, and it allows me to show off my date/girlfriend in an appropriate way. In the five minute walk I felt very unsafe, people kept staring and I was anxious they would say something or bother us. Especially young men walking in groups together - it scares me. My date is Moroccan, and I know people will think of her as a traitor for dating a white girl and for dating a girl in general. I felt so uncomfortable, that made me realise that, yes, we do still face discrimination. I don't think a single heterosexual couple is genuinely scared to get bothered just for holding hands while walking outside.

Yup, this is a statement from one of the mods:

"I am (was) a mod there. Our head mod has been receiving hate messages for a while and got burnt out on moderating. Instead of stepping down she closed it and locked us other mods out. We are working on a solution to restore the community but it may take a while."

The thread where it is posted on is now attracting a lot of attention from TRA's accusing everyone of being terfs. So I am guessing that's where the hate was coming from.

I was just checking it out! They privatised it, I was a sub for over half a year now and can't get into the sub anymore.

Recently the mods seemed to make a lot of pro transwomen statements though (explicitly stating trans women are the same as women and anyone who disagrees to get the hell out of their sub) so I hardly think they could get hunted by the trans group at this point?

On the other hand, I don't see why they would privatise their sub if it wasn't for that reason, they are the only group that will actually cause them to get banned.

When I figured out the term I was first introduced to the tulpa forums. They were far more level-headed there.

It was eventually what brought me to reddit a year ago and damn that subreddit is so fucked up. Those people clearly do not 1. Know what a tulpa is. 2. Do not have a tulpa but just a very overactive imagination.

They are all lonely people with autism who encourage each other to distance themselves and go along with their fantasy and fuck their "tulpa's" or use them as dating material since they can't get laid in the real world ever.

This could make sense for people with autism. According to a Dutch researcher 1 in 5 women with autism consider themselves asexual. As someone with autism I can understand why, touch can be incredibly uncomfortable to us due to the oversensitivity and some genuinely do not recognise sexual attraction (I for example, had for years trouble with feeling anger. Even if I was angry, there was such a disconnect between what I felt in my head and what I physically felt, that I would not know I was angry). So that there are people who are autistic and asexual makes complete sense to me.

So, I made a post on r/ChangeMyView that received several hundred upvotes, the post was simply expressing my distaste with the modern LGBT community's willingness to be knowingly commercialised for monetary gain. I felt pressured into it, and seriously considered it.

Around the age of 13 i developed an eating disorder, and also already knew i was a lesbian. The body image issues let me to really dislike my breasts. I wanted my chest to be flat and my body to not have any curves.

My father told me (without even knowing about any eating issues - based solely on the fact that I am a lesbian) that he was convinced I was a boy. "And when I know something, I am always right!" (Now my 14 year old insane and mentally retarded sister identifies as a 7 year old boy and my father loves it).

My ex was full on SJW, she said I must be aporagender (not even kidding). I wasn't sure though.

I talked about it to a therapist who instantly believed me 10 minutes into the conversation.

But then I kind of stopped wanting to think/talk about it, because I thought the whole trans community was so cringy. After a few years the feelings went away completely. Now I am 20 and I wish I had a bigger chest than a measly cup a!!!!

I think support will get less. In a couple of years more and more people will detransition, from the wave of people who suddenly identified as trans in 2014/2015. Even if the twitter people will ignore this, doctors can't. Its just waiting until people start sueing doctors and therapists for letting them permanently harm their body without properly assessing if there are any other issues/better solutions.

Keep in mind that for a lot of the more mainstream sjw's, the focus on trans people comes from the "black trans lives matter" idea. BLM is an organisation that has gotten a lot of attention before (around 2015) before dying down a little. That will probably happen this time as well. Whether its because people stop caring, or because people start realising there are better organisations out there to support.

The other thing that could happen is that an even more oppressed group will appear, and focus shifts.

Very relatable, I am 20 and knew I was a lesbian from age 9. Compared to many of my classmates I was very early with this, obviously. I've met an absolutely insane amount of bisexual girls, most of whom had never dated a woman. I am sure a big part of them are actually bisexual, but nowadays it turned into this thing where girls say they are bi just to gain popularity points, without ever intending on doing more than kiss a girl when she's drunk. Also, a ton of people who wear rainbow things or keep talking about their sexuality. I've only met one other lesbian, I went on a date with her last year. Insane, right? I've only met ONE lesbian in real life in my 11 years of being out.

I still very clearly remember telling my friends I had a girlfriend. In my language, girlfriend means the same as "friend who is a girl". So when I was telling them about my girlfriend who lived in the UK, they all assumed it was just a friend (who was a girl). It wasn't until a year into our friendship, when I posted a picture of us kissing on my instagram story, that I got so many messages from my friends: "I THOUGHT YOU SAID SHE WAS JUST A FRIEND??? ARE YOU GAY??"

And I realised I had completely neglected to tell them I am a lesbian. Oops. Now it only comes up when people ask me if I have boyfriend ("No, and hopefully never, because I am a lesbian"), of if people ask me if I think a man looks hot ("uhm no. I mean, objectively he is good looking, but as a lesbian I can't pass much judgement on the hot department. Do you see that chest hair? Gross.")

Usually you can pick those people out easily though. They have weird coloured, short hair, alternative clothing style, pronouns in their bio, and post too many stories on instagram filled with fake activism. That's my cue to leave lol

It's good you have a friend who seemed on board!

I only have straight cis friends, not necessarily by choice but I just dont match well with most lgbt people. I recently told my best friend about what was going on in mostly the lesbian community, she was really shocked and supportive of me.

Later she told me she was so shocked she even told her other friends, family and boyfriend about it. So I suppose I did my part on spreading the message lol!

Here comes the degenerate.

It's not that wild, but I am really into bigger women, all the way from a little chubby to genuinely fat. Sometimes that never fails to turn my on is when a woman let's me touch her belly. So far, everyone I've been with, thought it was amusing and cute and they liked that I adored their bodies.

When it comes to what they can do to me.. my hands are strangely sensitive, so if they touch my hands idk man that just makes my body feel things. Also my waist.

Or... jesus lord if they touch my neck my brain just dies right there. Even if it's just lightly ugh. I go weak, just like that.

A big turn on for me if they take control. Not necessary during sex (though that as well lol) but like if we go somewhere, I like it if they choose where they are going, or lead the way. In my daily life I am always somehow the one who has to do all the decision making, so when someone else does it, it just feels good.

I am personally not possessive at all and spend 3 weeks living in her house not giving a fuck about what those three were up to as long as I got my alone time with her. I would be perfectly fine having a relationship like that in the future.

Currently seeing a woman sexually who just got married to her wife and is in an open relationship. We had our first (platonic) date today, and it was great and we are definitely planning on doing things in the future.

Dont get me wrong, I am a jealous bitch when it comes to other things, but somehow I am not in relationships.

Okay once. At the time I was 13 (so this is almost 8 years ago) i was really depressed and overall in an extremely bad state of mind. I already knew and accepted I was a lesbian and had just started using instagram. There I found plenty of LGBT and feminism pages that I thought were very interesting.

Skip a few months, at this point I had been properly brainwashed into believing everything woke insta was saying.

A really popular LGBT page made a post saying:

"A gay person shouldnt be hated for their sexuality but if they are a bad person you can still dislike the individual.

A trans person shouldnt be hated for their gendee but if they are a bad person you can still dislike the individual.

A muslim shouldnt be hated for their religion but if they are a bad person you can still dislike the individual.

A black person shouldnt be hated for their race but if they are a bad person you can still dislike the individual."

Anyway, for some reason people went OFF on this. I swear it had nearly a 1000 comments of people being sooo mad. They were claiming the page was so RACIST, for making it seem like "all black people are bad!!"

Thinking I wouldnt be noticed in the sea of comments commented:

"I dont think you can be racist to white people!!! However, a person can be a dick regardless of their race/sexuality/gender, and that is enough for anyone to decide to dislike that individual."

Apparently the account owner of this 100k+ account saw my comment, and agreed with it soooo much that they screenshotted it and posted my comment on their account saying: "this is what I meant!"

They did not blur out my insta name. Somehow the commenters were incapable of reading the first line and just went idiotoc on me. Claiming I said reverse racism exists, claiming I was racist. Then I got DM's telling me to kill myself, to cut myself, that I was the ugliest white pasty girl they had ever seen

I had not responded to anything anymore bc I was overwhelmed as fuck. Anyway, that evening so many people told me to hurt myself and kill myself over that one comments that I relapsed in self harming and was a crying mess all week. The worst thing was that I despite me, and all my (poc) friends didnt see anything wrong with my comment, I talked myself into having to be a racist because why else would woke insta go off on a 13 year old??

Ever since then I've always been really apprehensive of these feminists/equalists/activists (as that were what these people called themselves) and I had to actually get exposure therapy to work on "learning how to express your opinions without fear". I am still not completely over that fear and whenever I say something controversial I usually cant sleep at night because I am so scared people will threaten me again.

Sorry that was way too long.

How does your hair look? by lmaonope333 in Lesbians

[–]Jinera 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Long, waist length, slightly wavy, thick and a copper/ginger colour (I dye it). Its gorgeous. I know that may sound narcissistic but my hair is beautiful. I get a lot of compliments about it. I am pretty protective of it as a result. Despite the dyeing and the length it's still healthy and shiny tho

How would you describe your clothing style? by [deleted] in Lesbians

"Law student, but lesbian". I wear a lot of white, which looks good with my pale skin and ginger hair. So usually a little more formal. Still, pretty feminine.

Is your Pride event inclusive of everyone within LGBTQ+? A survey focusing on the inclusion of Pups, Furries & Kinksters... by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

[–]Jinera 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

As a hardcore kinkster: I regularly comment in online BDSM communities that I really think kink should be kept away from pride. Personally I don't want to see anything sexual unless I consent to it, and going to pride is not giving consent to seeing sexual things. There are children/teens going to pride events too.

Besides, there are plenty of kink events. People can go to munches and parties centered around kink. There is no need to involve this in pride.

Though I do have to mention that I've noticed a lot of negativity surrounding kink coming from the LGB community. Which does make me feel even more unwelcome in my own community. Like, why judge on what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedrooms?

She was a Muslim so usually wore a hijab. That way it was never really in her way unless she was chilling at home! And she was really short so I think if I had her hair it would be on my hips 😂

That sucks so so so bad! An ex of mine had endometriosis as well and I know how much pain it caused her. I have Ehlers-danlos syndrome, which in itself doesn't have to be a disability, but since it has caused my left shoulder to be permanently partly dislocated, and my right shoulder, jaw and fingers partly dislocate on a regular basis I consider it a disability: it limits me in what I am capable of doing. Chances are that with the rate things are going I might end up in a wheelchair if my hips or knees start acting up. But I do a lot of physical therapy to make sure I hopefully prevent any future damage to my body. I have joint pain every single second of the day, along with the pain of dislocating joints, and that will never stop.

I wish I had a magic pill as well lol, tramadol helps a lot but i can still feel the pain through it. I have never taken real anti depressants, for the same reason as you: I feared they'd numb me. I've been depressed since I was 13 years old, and these painkillers got rid of that without numbing me. They have a lot less side effects compared to regular anti depressants. I got lucky, I guess.

And you're right I should probably stand up to myself, I feel as if it just isn't worth it. I call them friends, but realistically I don't feel close to them.

Not drinking is really good! I only drink one glass at a time maybe once every other week. I don't do drugs at all, but so many people are into smoking weed or getting drunk a lot.. I am just not.

And same, i got hugged for the first time in years all the way back in december and i still cling onto those memories..

I have two ball pythons! One is a total sweetie, he is my best boi. They are my favourite animals and i could potentially have 300 of them for real. I also own a lesser tenrec, which looks like a miniature ugly version of a hedgehog lol.

Do you have snakes or other pets?

(Also! Don't feel insecure about your body weight, there are tons of ladies who like their girls on the bigger side - I am one of them, more to hug ;)! )

Being friends with an ex by Innisfree in Lesbians

[–]Jinera 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I stayed on friendly terms with all my ex's. I am not the jealous type at all so knowing they are with others just doesnt bother me in the slightest. My longest relationship was 3 years, after a 4 months silence after I broke up we continued chatting and send each other memes. Even with my bi ex that ended up cheating on me I just talk with them every now and then.

But I think that only works because I despite being an insecure little bitch in every other aspect of my life, when it comes to relationship I am as steady as one can be.

I can relate. Although for me it's more the other way around. When I am depressed I ache to be on my own, I completely detach myself from anyone.

For the past few months despite some issues and a lot of physical issues, I am emotionally very very stable. This might be tmi, but due to illness I need to take certain painkillers that has been proven to also work as an anti depressant. Ever since taking them I have been doing so well!

But when I am happy.. I want to do things, I want to share moments with a partner. I feel so lonely because I long to have someone to experience things with. My friends kind of suck, they never keep my disability in mind and make mean comments about my illness.

I am on tinder again for the past week, and I know this is all on me but it is so difficult! I have a pretty specific type (shame on me!), they need to be able to live with the fact that I am chronically ill and in a lot of pain, but even more difficult I am extremely kinky in a way that I know it wont be fair to me or them to have a relationship with someone who doesn't enjoy that. My dating pool is basically invisible at this point lol.

I am prepared to die alone with my 300 snakes

Edit: like last week I went to the beach in the middle of the night on my own to watch the sea flames. And all I could think about was: I wish I could be here with a cute girl, drink some alcohol free wine (hey I dont drink and drive!) While watching the sea light up while watching the stars...... but I am on my own

Do real (and self aware) lesbians exist in real life anymore? by RedditHatesLesbians in Lesbians

[–]Jinera 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Girl, same. I am twenty and live in the netherlands. I have met one lesbian my age through tinder! We went on a date. But she recently came out as "non binary lesbian" so she doesnt count.

Other than that I've met two 30 -40 year old lesbians. They were great. They breed snakes, and I fucking love snakes they had a son together. Great people. Other than that I've never met any lesbians despite being out for like 9 years. And my country is not homophobic at all so it's not like they need to hide away

To me that's hands down the best music in the entire world:)

Straight white guy inappropriately goes to r/AL to confess that he has an overwhelming lesbian fetish that is taking up too much of his life. Transbians all try to convince him it’s because he’s really a lesbian. by yousaythosethings in LGBDropTheT

I've noticed a rise in posts that are like:

"Are non binary lesbians valid?"

"Are trans lesbians valid?"

"Is a genital preference okay?"

And that about three times a day without much text in the actual description. To me it looks like people trying to get a certain reaction of others, more than anything.

When you make an account on reddit, it nsfw is automatically turned off. So arguably it's harder for those average internet lurkers to find that toggle that turns it on and see the nsfw posts.

I just use reddit mostly to talk in subs that are about the rare disorder that I have which have been helpful, and on the nsfw subs to do erotic roleplays which have been loads of fun. Who would have thought me and some random writing partner would end up writing 200.000 words in 3 months.

Last time I checked no one has a right to be near my vagina, sweaty. You need to earn that right, not expect it to be a given.

What's your favorite type of nonsexual physical contact with a woman? by hufflepuff-poet in Lesbians

[–]Jinera 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Holding hands. Whenever I had a relationship, all the damn time. Nothing feels as good as just simply holding hands as you walk with someone. I am not so good with hugs or very affectionate, but this is something I need and my way to show that I need them to be close to me and appreciate them.

But I've also had the pleasure of being comforted by a large chested woman and that was amazing as well. So?? Soft??!
