The scale isn't the best tbh. Some of the questions have been shown to be completely unrelated to all 3 types of empathy which the scale was developed to measure, and a shortened version (something like 30 questions) has since been released which is a much more reliable measure of empathy. So you're right, I wouldn't take the results to seriously. I only know this because it's vaguely related to my phd lol.

Ugh those pictures remind me of when I was working in a hotel and we found a man who'd slit his throat in his room. Sink was full of blood as was the carpet, he was so pale he pretty much transparent. Worst thing was it looked like he'd tried to crawl towards the door before he died making me feel like maybe he regretted it and was trying to get help. So sad when people feel they have no other choice.

It does seem like they were next to a very busy road, and I've never let my toddler niece run freely in an environment like that. But my god they are slippery. Once she was in the garden and I turned around to pull a slide out of the shed and when I turned around she'd escaped through the garden bushes, ran across the road and was stood in a neighbors garden. No casualties fortunately!

I have had bouts of insomnia and even things like zopiclone just don't work when you're at your worst. I used to go 3-4 days tops with no sleep and then only get a 4 hour sleep when I managed it, but 10 days would be unbearable.

My mom had to watch her two friends drown in a lake when she was very little. They were out playing and she couldn't get help in time. When she grew up she'd made sure that all of her children are strong swimmers and drilled the same message into her friends for their kids. I do the same. It's a vital life skill.
