A++ great interview.

I appreciated the concluding rundown on the JFK and RFK assassinations, and I'm glad we have the same views on them, brief as they were.

I'm a little miffed he claims his grandfather wasn't a bootlegger.

Thanks! Good to know. I was picturing the other kind as it would have been easier to conceal. That's more than a little suspicious - but certainly would do the trick.

Meanwhile besides the ice pick axe, there are similar hammers too, also very good dispatching someone. At times in my life I've kept a hammer or bat near the front door, just in case. Never needed it.

Is the left / right spectrum actually a circle, just viewed from the side ? by feynman432 in politics

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Great insight!!! I'd never considered that before! Seems obvious now. Saved.

At best I've been considering it a 3.5 dimensional spectrum with multiple "axes":

1) top-bottom: totalitarian vs total freedom (voluntarism, aka an-archy = no-rulers)

2) front-back: facts/truth vs lies/deception, from hard to soft to hard again a LOT of grey area between

3) horizontal: self vs tribe vs global

I've avoided using the "left" and "right" labels - because it's also binary and doesn't consider the third (though this is still simplistic).

The third is tricky because like Venn diagrams our social circles may overlap and change priorities. A family is social and even within the family you make have priorities. Then of course there are wider and wider social circles into nations or greater.

It's folly to say that only the "left" is concerned about social issues and that the "right" is selfish. They both have much to offer and would do better to work it out together - away from centralized power.

Further, people should have different ideas on the different issues, and if all these issues were mapped out within this 3D sphere you might find an interesting pattern in someone's cloud of points to help describe their general but not absolute political nature.

All of the extreme points are abstract forms and singularities with zero dimensions where it touches on the political sphere without corners (not a political square, diamond, or cube).

I wondered about that too. "Asian" could mean anyone from Moscow to Jerusalem to Dubai to Delhi to Bangkok to Hong Kong to Seoul or Tokyo - and so much more.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You mean totalitarian government. The "people" are no longer represented on the right or left. The right and left have merged. Capitalism and communism are one. They just play the masses for fools by pretending that tribalism even matters.

There are MANY wars on but the only one that matters is the class war and unless we rise up somehow to bring more transparency, responsibility, legitimacy, authenticity, and decentralize into countless alternatives and solutions we'll be trapped under the full spectrum dominance of the ruling class.

" the reality that brown people are disproportionately committing crimes "

SOME brown people. Obviously not all types of people are the same. Migrant "illegal" workers for example commit far fewer crimes because they can't risk getting caught even for minor infractions. Further, young single men with nothing to lose are FAR more dangerous than older secure family men with responsibilities and everything to lose.

" the media who's purpose should be to reveal the facts. "

Indeed. Key word: "should". Their real purpose is to serve and protect the ruling class - like all their rigged systems.

I liked my IRIX on SGI Indy and SGI O2 workstations back when I was animating commercials and proficient in Unix. I've forgotten most of it but still know enough to be dangerous. And worse - back then we were dependent on the IT guys to keep it all running smoothly.

Then Microsoft moved in, bought SoftImage, and everything was ported to Windows.

I liked Ubuntu before they started limiting you.

I'm trying out Mint Cinnamon, but I need to reconfig my whole work space here to do it properly.

Brilliantly stated.

" Although I've done it myself, I don't know that derision or making fun of people is productive. "

EXCELLENT POINT!

"Derision" was the closest similar rhyming word to parody or satire - and I meant only to mock the "authorities", "experts", and "leaders" who lose their legitimacy via corruption, deception, manipulation, exploitation, greed, hypocrisy, and calls for and actions of anti-freedom, harm, theft, or violence. I certainly did not mean for people to deride others among the masses, sheeple or not.

That actually looks FUCKING KICK ASS! Perhaps on par with Akira?

Gonna find that for sure.

I spent 4 years in college for animation, became a pro in Toronto and NY and Cali, and I used to LIVE for animation (though not the way many animators do, with obsessive fandoms, endless toys, etc etc etc). Eventually I got tired of it, as I have Hollywood. Yes, I still enjoy all the Pixar and Disney and other movies, but I just can't bother to catch them all now. Same with Anime. I can't speak to the story, but for the most part that trailer expertly crafted, and is the first thing to excite and motivate me in a long time!

Thank you thank you thank you!

Sometimes I feel that there is a balance. Into the future things will get more extreme. We'll have more good tech, good info, etc and ways to fight back against the establishment - yet they'll have more evil tech, propaganda, etc. The same but different - and more extreme.

On the other hand there are countless billions who suffer under the establishment for the sake of the billion or less of the middle class or above.

Or do they? Maybe their lives in "ignorance" and common poverty are richer than ours striving for unobtainable goals under debt slavery.

While millions in the US are about to suffer worse than ever, millions in China will finally achieve their Chinese Dream.

Maybe karma is not good, is not a bitch, but is bittersweet.

I refuse to believe this is true.

We live and die and show nothing for it. Bunk.

Humanity is where it is now because of thousands of generations before us, distinguishing us from other animals.

Everyone contributes in their own way.

Granted there are the warmongering parasite class centralizing power in their paper castles, but they haven't won all the pieces yet. All of their power is built upon some flimsy mythology that only requires blind faith by their devoted minions. All it needs is one spark.

Some are indeed simple. Ironically they tend to get more votes than more nuanced ones. Not that I'm going for votes, but I notice. And I suspect some gems get missed and passed over.

This meme had the center panel words embedded in it so I had to work around it. "It is a silly place" comes from Monty Python about Camelot.
