"10. We should be far more focused on avoiding 0.1x programmers than finding 10x programmers" <- This is so true. I think because everyone was so PC, good-code leaders didn't want to say it but I will. Some people really such as software development because they are too lazy, and short-term oriented to write good code. There are great programmers out there. Get the best one you can find and make him/her lead developer. Then concentrate on avoiding 0.1× devs! Give the lead dev a brief to develop the 1× and 2× devs you recruited, into 3× and 4× devs; who should then be able to manage their own path to greatness. Never recruit a dev who doesn't aspire to becoming a great dev.

A Freezing Antarctic Winter Shatters Records | The American Spectator | USA News and Politics by doginventer in ClimateSkeptics

Record cold in the Antarctic shatters the greenhouse gas effect, GHGE, which in turn destroys the logic behind AGW - anthropogenic global warming, or man-made climate change. This is because the GHGE, in theory, is supposed to produce most worming: 1) at the poles, 2) during winter, and 3) at night.

These record cold polar Antarctic temperatures were recorded in the Southern winter, at night.

How can we stop going to war to force everyone to accept fake science? by JackEddyfier in ClimateSkeptics

Climate alarmists now discuss how they will force everyone to comply with their fake science agenda. So what new wars will we be fighting in future to legitimise their fake science?, how can we stop this conflict?

Why do evil programmers love open source software? by trident765 in programming

Management don't want you messing about with code for the sake of it - as they see it. You need to go to management & convince them to add the bug fix you want as a new feature, or convince them it's in their interests to remove the bug. Also - in your next coding job - make sure the bloody management understand the importance of properly working, bug-free code!

The software is O/S. Fork it and start your own version of it. This is what devs do when they reach an irreconcilable deadlock over future policy for the code.

Define "evil programmer".

I cannot understand this OP comment because s/he is using their own private language to describe the world, like: "evil programmer". In my experience their are 4 kinds of coder: bad, OK, good, and great. Good programmers aspire to be great, and may be one day. Most are either bad or OK.

Finding programmers who aren't modern scum? by fschmidt in programming

[–]JackEddyfier 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

"Modern scum" seems a little too general to me. I'm calling it out as a logical fallacy = hasty generalization https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faulty_generalization In other words, I'm not convinced by the poster above. When you want to make a general point about something you should begin with examples. After 3 or so examples you can claim a generalization such as "modern scum programmers".

This is such a bat-shit crazy idea it off the scale of evilness. In a similar class of evil to mandatory vaxxes, and gain of function research on human pathogens.

First of all - what's the justification? We already know, from Mount Pinatubo in 1991, that aerosols cause global cooling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Pinatubo

How is this a "climate skeptic" post?

It is a climate BS post. The OP who posted this link hasn't made any critical comments on the story at all. They just posted a BS link.

Mods - why is this post even allowed in the "climateSkeptics" forum?

Apologies for coming over as very aggressive - having been here all of 20 minutes, but there's not a single good skeptic forum on the web where users can post in good faith. Good forums like: NTZ, WUWT, JCurry, JNova, Tallbloke ..., are not open forums. They are blog style. Facebook has so much censorship, and too little intelligent discussion it's often mindless - with big media climate BS dominating.

OK, so I've met a few sad people who believe in climate apocalypse, and the end of the world. But if they didn't believe this apocalypse story wouldn't they find some other BS to believe in?
