Top it off with the excessive easy money, and people will surely default on loans en masse, similarly to the housing crash of 2008. Several democrat candidates are calling for even easier policies for homebuying in the U.S. as well, so I must wonder if they intend to hold onto this economy through the election.

It's not even difficult to critique Trump's administration in an honest way. I wonder if the religious-level hatred stems from the astroturfers' intent to keep the population dumb and emotional.

The sooner society moves towards a focus on rigor, particularly in academics and philosophy, the sooner we'll move away from totalitarian nonsense.

Worshipping your rulers is stupid, but we actually like free speech here, so welcome.

What's the gist of that board? Aside from politics, it's difficult to infer at a glance.

I would agree with you, when compared to the current mobile UI, a system more like New Reddit's mobile app would be an upgrade. It's just more intuitive.

For the desktop system though, being as close as possible to Old Reddit would be the route to go for now, in my opinion. People are familiar with and miss it. Upgrades from that should be kept minor until this site has more mass.

Never got to see frenworld much, but I did hear about it's nuking. I suppose that's part of the reason Saidit exists.

What was the focus of the sub?

A question. What would everyone like to see libertarian community online & what are your thoughts on the successes/failures of other libertarian communities online specifically on Reddit? by Capitalism_is_Magic in Ludwig_von_Mises

In terms of a libertarian community, I was honestly appealed to by the community on GoldandBlack, but the community was so fragmented over on Reddit that larger discussions simply didn't happen. The fragmentation was partly due to the chapo's and admins tearing up subs on one side, and partly due to nationalists and their "I like freedom, but" on the other side.

I would say that condensing the budding Saidit libertarian communities into one or two, and rounding up everyone already on the site would be a good first step. Maintaining a stringently consistent moderation system would reduce some of the issues that eventually ruined r/Libertarian.

So first, condense the groups, let's have all of us here on Saidit in one or two subs. Second, develop a moderation platform, decide what does or does not fly. Third, let's get some content rolling out, whether it's discussions on topics, a compilation of essays/books, a wiki, or memes/news articles with conversation below. Once all of that is done, appealing to the more desirable subs on reddit would draw its better posters to here. The goal the whole time is to reduce the risk of chapo's or natties from showing up early on.
