I used to have such wonder at the world, just looking at the endless possibilities. I've gradually lost it, and it sucks. It kind of feels like the past me died, even though it wasn't all that long ago I was just a little kid.

I like birds. I'm really interested in selective breeding but don't have any desire to raise animals for agriculture, breed overpopulated animals, or work with animals that have a lot of health issues... So I keep and breed self society/Bengalese finches. They don't want anything to do with people, but they are friendly with each other and are generally easy to care for. I only have males at the moment, but I'm planning to get a Euro hen or two this summer. Feel free to ask more; I'd be happy to write an essay on this!

Here's the dad and his sons.

I have this username on most pseudonymous sites I use, and it started on DeviantArt of all places. I thought the combination of elements of ice, fire, and storm were cool, but Icefirestorm was taken so I put "Ice," "sear" (like charring/fire), and "storm" together and, well, here I am.

I mainly stick to the smaller ones these days. Got tired of digging through the absolute garbage that was many of the main subs. Like okay, one cute puppy and a few old memes a day is fine, but when the entire homepage is flooded? No thanks. Smaller ones also tend to have less moderation and few to no automods.

r/trueoffmychest is better, but I imagine the day will come when people from r/offmychest start migrating over, and r/trueoffmychest will succumb to censorship or hivemind mentality. Then r/truetrueoffmychest will be created and eventually start sucking. And then the twenty-character limit to subreddit names will strike.

Found out about it on a Reddit thread after one person was talking about old reposts. This is interesting...
