Honestly, I was thinking about this shit a while ago and concluded that experimenting on people, who are considered to be trans, is hateful and transphobic itself! Regardless if these people are actually trans but somehow it's super acceptable to experiment on mentally vulnerable people. It's so sick.

[–]INeedSomeTime 11 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Nah. I only agree with the Gender Critical part but also to a degree since radfems understand it as a symptom of patriarchy and how poor young women can't cope with all the sexism and stereotypes associated with their gender so they transition into men while men always transition for fetish reasons and are inherently predatory this way. This is one possible scenario but I disagree on generalizing it onto the whole phenomenon. They can be the inverse: a man who can't cope with the gender roles assignes to him so he thinks he must be a woman inside and then a woman, who is too deep into yaoi that she believes she's a gay man. Still not the only dynamic. More is going on in this whole trend. Anyways I am just a gender skeptic, not a radfem. Radfems would probably hate me for also pointing out the issues men deal with too because hurr durr women shouldn't be a men's emotional labour or something. Eh.

I recently got pissed at something else. I was searching for some pictures of men wearing eyeliner or in some alternative clothes. I am very much in support of not shaming men for liking so called "feminine" things such as wearing makeup or painting nails but I got somehow irrationally pissed when I saw photos of FtM doing this and it was so visible they were just women in make up. It feels like a mockery to this kind of acceptance for the actual men, who have been always raised as men and told what's manly to do and what isn't. Meanwhile FtM was raised as female, look female and really thinks "he" does something incredibly stunning, special and brave by putting makeup.

Most of the time they're impressionable teens hopping onto a trend they observed among their peers. They saw several viral Tweets saying how putting pronouns is somehow helpful for trans people (the truth is it was actually made for these non-binaries with their unicorn pronouns, prior to that actual trans people never demanded special pronouns) and they do it - mindlessly. And maybe a few of them, these with unicorn pronouns are in need of attention and feeling special. Also probably teens and young adults.

To be fair I think everytime I saw these accounts had pronouns like they/them or she/they. I think maybe there was just a few accounts with no pronouns put... but if they had pronouns then they always were "they/them". This is very telling.

Growing breasts and getting my period was awful. Growing body parts designed to attract men and feed babies repulsed me. I hated knowing that my menarche meant I was fertile, that the biological purpose of me was to be a baby machine. I felt so humiliated and repulsed by the purpose of my body and dressed in over-sized clothes to hide it. I have never had any desire to have a penis (not into penises) but I hated having a vagina as I knew the purpose of a vagina was for it to be penetrated by penises and pushing out the resulting babies. I also hated seeing my younger brothers growing taller and stronger than me. I hated that women were designed to be physically weaker, slower and smaller than men, it seemed extremely unfair to me. I couldn't see one single that was better about being female, it was all bad. I asked women if they knew any advantage at all about being female and they brought up all the negative stuff like the ability to get pregnant, attracting men, being weaker so men can do things for you as positives (each to their own, I still see these things as negatives). The expectation to like what I dislike just made it more humiliating, the expectation to be so stupid that one would even prefer being physically weaker.

It's terrifying how much I can relate to this. It's basically my thoughts written down when I was a teen. I still try to cope with it and just accept it as what it is. I mean I'd love to have all physical qualities all men have but it's funny it's something what today's transitioning can't provide. If it could without making me just a weird amalgamation of female features with some added male features then maybe I'd consider it....

LGB and types of attraction by reluctant_commenter in LGBDropTheT

[–]INeedSomeTime 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

These types of attractions were made for asexuals since somehow asexuality is supposed to be a spectrum. As an asexual I am very skeptical of it and it feels like asexuality community focuses more on validating people, who aren't actually asexual but have low libido, than on actual asexuals... so you have that weird crap.

According to their way of thinking I'm asexual aromantic and to be fair I wish asexual meant asexual aromantic not basically anything else like that weird thing of sex-positive heteroomantic asexual, who has sex everuday and loves it, lmao. Straight but with extra steps and labelling.

I'm cofused how sexual, romantic and sensual attraction aren't related to each other. I don't experience these. Platonic attraction seems like a way to validate that aromanticism is also a spectrum so an aromantic can somehow form something stronger than friendship but not romance. I don't get it. I just wanna good friends at most not that weird stuff.

I wanna add that seeing that TQ+ also includes asexuals but to me they aren't like the rest of TQ+. They just want acknowledgement and that's everything. Unlike these trans and non-binary kids demanding special behavior and rights around them.

r/LGBT debates the meaning of the words "gay" and "lesbian" by NutterButterFlutter in LGBDropTheT

It is so clear to me that so many straight people in the LGBTQ movement see "gay" not as a sexual orientation, but as a desirable aesthetic-- a set of trendy habits, a haircut, a certain style of clothes and mannerisms, which bestow virtue upon the posturer.

So basically same goes for queer. I noticed that it's more like a subculture than just being gay, bi or even asexual. Certain behaviors or way of clothing tends to be associated with being queer. So often that behavior can be described as childish and that's one of the things making me uncomfortable in such places. I am a grown person, not a teenager. Colorful hair with awful haircut is other thing. To be fair I prefer to look the opposite way to queer lol. So I look "straight." That reminds me how some kweers cry about the idea of not being seen as "queer enough." What the fuck does it even mean?

I feel bad for actual trans men when it comes to that. If I saw a short man with these mastectomy scars I'd not immediately think that's a trans man. But ever since these scars are basically glorified with Tumblr/Twitter artists giving them to every male character they draw then it's so easy to tell now. I hate these arts because they clearly draw a biological man but with these scars. Trans men rarely look like this. Their shoulders aren't broad and hips narrow. And their voices also are like on helium... And they're usually quite short. Misinformation is insane.

Hell even if I am asexual I don't get how people buy into this shit that a lesbian is basically attracted to some vague idea of a woman but if such a woman looks like a hairy man with a dick somehow she gotta be into it. Sexuality is based on physical world, not some spiritual feelings wtf.

I definitely agree that the whole "romantic asexual" thing might be just a platonic bond but since people don't take friendships seriously even if such bonds can be as strong and a "breakup" hurts as much too, then they prefer to call it romantic so it could be seen as more significant.

If that's the case it's definitely rather sad, not gonna lie. I can form really strong platonic bonds (friendships) but since it's not romantic in the actual sense (lacks sexual component) then it isn't seen as important by society even if it is important for me. It is seen as okay to end or neglect such a relationship for the sake of romantic one because it's seen as higher priority.

So I can see why ace community is clingy towards using that wording. Even if it's technically wrong.

I also agree with the other subgroup of "romantic asexuals." I overall have the impression asexual label truly attracts confused people (or spicy straights) but since this is a some kind of entry to LGBT community as a whole then maybe with time they will grow more comfortable with being just gay or bi by observing others who are gay or bi there.

LGBTQ+ community is mostly a bunch of people, who actually don't have much in common besides for being a bit different. Trans people have so completely different stuff going on than gay or bi people. Asexual people are also different than gay or bi people - in such a space they wouldn't like to talk about sex in theory, right?

According to this form of classification I am aromantic and asexual (so technically your stereotypical asexual) so I may not be able to answer that too well. I think the difference between sexless romance and friendship is a bit blurry. I guess you wouldn't kiss a friend though. Might be that asexual simply says they're comfortable with doing stuff like kissing with both sexes. Some only feel comfortable with doing it with the same sex as them or as the opposite one.

Since I am super clueless about romance and sex (I mean, not surprising lol) then I am not gonna try engaging in a discussion about romantic attraction. Traditionally romantic attraction is understood as platonic attraction and sexual attraction. In asexual community they define it as... platonic attraction with some extra but not sexual stuff? I mean I am not gonna critize it because it's not rare to find the same word meaning a bit different things depending on the place/context/culture. So I don't think it's a stretch that romantic attraction understood by asexuals will be different than romantic attraction defined by the rest of society. It even shows some of these fundamental differences between actual asexuals and the rest of population I assume.

But this is where I think the whole split attraction model should be used exclusively by asexuals. Because asexual romantic attraction(platonic+nonsexual extra) is different from typical romantic attraction (platonic+sexual).
