Yeah Ethereum is one of the most promising cryptocurrencies. It has the smart contract feature built-in.
In politics, smart contracts could be used to keep track of election promises and the people's satisfaction with regards to their fulfillment. As is well known, the population has REALLY SHORT memory about politics and promises. That would solve that.
You could keep track of how well somebody's doing with regards to their promises. At any level. You would have apps underlining the bad apples and the shining beacons. An invaluable tool!
And that would be just a start because it would enable, and even FORCE direct democracy on the dipshits at the top. How? Imagine so-and-so proposes "Bill Z-99" or whatever you would call it. Doesn't matter what it's about. You could have the population chime in on whether they like it or not, and even the CLAUSES within it. It could be drilled down to details.
Now of course not everyone would use it for everything, because people have lives. But then again, individuals would look at things that matter the most to them, and chime in on that. If some dude just does whatever and ignores the voters, things will get hot for him. How so?
Well nowadays the dipshits at the top just do whatever, and we barely hear about it. And we don't know the exact disapproval or "don't care" or whatever, of the population with regards to anything they do.
Just imagine now that said dipshit keeps doing whatever he pleases, and people disapprove en masse, garnering say 90%+ disapproval on one measure, then another. Pretty soon, it's not just generalized disapproval. It's KNOWN and PROVABLE generalized disapproval. This is very different.
If you disagree with a proposed bill or whatever, are you going to draw up a sign and drive to whichever place the dude is at, and start chanting "don't want it" or whatever? Nope, you surely wouldn't do it ALONE.
But if you know that 40,000 of your closest friends are equally enraged at these measures and they know there are that many of them, then there is likelihood that SOMETHING will happen, be it email flooding, protests, boycotts, whatever. The possibilities are endless.

That's a good question.
I feel that if a group of anonymous individuals pulled a "Satoshi" on the political systems, then that would be that.
By this I mean, if for example, these people were to create a political blockchain, then that would be a start. For example, start with a blockchain of politics and opinions, where each individual can express approval or disapproval of events, measures, laws, politicians, on all levels.
Imagine that there are apps where this blockchain can easily and ANONYMOUSLY be accessed by individuals, say through even their phones, and express their approval or disapproval of various things. They could even be allowed to flip-flop depending on what else changes.
Say this grows over the next 10 years. At some point it cannot be ignored anymore. At some point, somebody's going to come forward and say, you know what, vote for me as President and I'll do what you guys want. Or whatever. Even on a state or county level.
Or even just "Hey politician so-and-so, did you see the immense disapproval you just garnered!? Maybe you should look for another job?"
The possibilities are endless. You just need a group of Open Source Cryptography developers to get together and make it happen. It could truly become a driving force for freedom and justice within a decade or 3. It would spread like a wildfire and be applicable to EVERY SINGLE GROUP of individuals. NOBODY would be without their political blockchain, their voice could never be drowned out by special interest groups and lobbies. Democracy would be real again.
Make Democracy Real Again.
Amazing that Blockchain can also be used to free the masses from tyranny, enabling the best of direct democratic systems.

No, this is where you are wrong. Of course I oversimplify when I say split 50/50 between the employees and the corporation. That was meant as an illustration. But you have to understand that it doesn't have to "make sense" to you... It just IS where value comes from. Actual value. Not price, not profit, but VALUE. Again, the difference between a tree and furniture is WORK. The furniture has more VALUE thanks to the WORK that was put in processing the tree into furniture. Yes, we value the furniture more, which is the REASON why we work at making furniture out of trees.
Second, you should know that the ONLY market with true competition is the labor market. ALL OTHERS are characterized by more or less absolute anti-competitive measures, strategies and tactics. It's called "the games theory of economics". The labor market being the only one where there is true competition, it means that all employees are essentially pit against all others (within an activity or activity group, obviously) for who will do the most for the least pay. With international trade even came the abolition of borders in the labor market: the dude living in NYC is pit against the dude who lives in a hut in Bangladesh for who will do the most for the least. Guess who wins.
The consequence of this is virtually ALL corporations squeezing the worker base for ever more, giving ever less in compensation and benefits while corporate profits and top management compensation increase continually. Does that sound familiar? If not, look at the inflation-adjusted median household income for the last 60 years in your "western capitalist democracy" of choice. What do you see? It's flat. That's right, no increase. But wait! 60 years ago, most households had ONE worker. Nowadays there are two. So you doubled the number of workers and total income, adjusted for the devaluation of currency, STAYED THE SAME.
So the problem is education? All this time, technology has been increasing the value created per man-hour of work, but overall we're making half as much BECAUSE OF LACK OF EDUCATION? I'm sorry but that's not it.
You seem to feel that everybody having a fair shot at "making it" if they work hard and smart enough and get a good education is a good thing? That's what socialism is all about: Making sure that capitalism does not become SLAVERY.
You probably have the wrong definition of the word "socialism" - here is what it REALLY means by Horrux in unpopularopinion

By enslaving others. Fooling them into working for you, for wages that are grossly inferior to the intrinsic value of their work. Let me explain:
VALUE is created by work. The difference between a tree and furniture is WORK. Of course the furniture can be worth A LOT MORE than the tree, mostly depending on the QUALITY of the work.
Capitalism is a wonderful thing: a capitalist will invest in machinery and other installations and have workers perform their work on his machines inside his installations. As a result of this investment, MORE WORK can be done by the craftsman. Instead of making one table a week, he makes two a DAY.
But wait, now we have a problem: the worker makes 14 times more stuff thanks to the machines. Does that mean that the worker should keep only the value created by making ONE table, and the installation owner keeps the other 13? Doesn't seem fair, does it? Because without the worker, the installation and tools will make precisely ZERO pieces of furniture.
So if you want to be balanced, you would say maybe the worker should keep 7 or 8 tables' value and the owner should keep 6 or 7.
But... You guessed it, that's not what happens. The rich get rich by keeping 12, 13, 13¼, 13½, 13¾ tables' value out of the 14 being produced. Of course by that time the worker has found a way to eke out a 15th table during his week, trying to produce "enough" to pay the bills. Now the tables are probably of lower quality.
That's unchecked capitalism for you. That's how you get really rich. By stealing honest workers' creation of value.
Or you could play the stock market or create a work of art or of science to wow the people into paying you massive sums.

That's not my point. My point is that the COMMUNISTS have taken to calling their horrible ideas "Socialism" because Socialism has always been a respectable philosophy of governance. They have created this bit of orwellian newspeak in order to make their doctrine seem more acceptable.
But nowadays many Americans are buying this communist propaganda that socialism is the same as communism, while in fact they are almost opposites. Case in point, the national socialists and their hatred and rejection of everything marxist and communist.
As a result of this, the idea that there is a philosophy of governance founded on the idea of attempting to minimize inequality of opportunity (iniquity) becomes absent the language and therefore the thinking of a big slice of the population.
It is truly orwellian.

Just trying to inform people about this evil orwellian horror!
What do you mean. This is 100% factual. Did you even bother to read. :-(
I know it's a hard pill to swallow when you've been lied to about something as fundamental as language. But you're better off knowing than being ignorant of it, don't you think?
So there were revolutions that are said to have expressed "Scientific socialism" in the mid-1800s. OK. So what?
And then the article says "social democratic" parties arose drawing mainly from Marxism.
Therefore socialism and marxism are the same thing? Therefore it means socialism means the state has to own the means of production?
It doesn't say that either! And if it did, it would be wrong, quite simply. Let me provide some links that will make you see that your position is erroneous through no fault of your own.
The actual definition of the word "socialism" is known worldwide by many peoples in many languages, and in English by anyone who has received schooling in economics before the millenium.
This is the correct and accepted definition of socialism: https://philosophyterms.com/socialism/
However, many online dictionaries as well as shillypedia have started peddling the notion that it means "the state taking ownership of the means of economic production". Which, if you know anything, is totalitarian communism and not socialism at all. Right? OK let's continue...
Here's the shittypedia page with the false and wrong definition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism
Randomly, the first site that popped up for me in my search engine, which happens to have the same wrong definition: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/socialism?s=t
But lastly and most importantly, a google auto-translation of the French Wikipedia page on socialism, into English: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Ffr.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSocialisme
Now it seems obvious to me that (((somebody))) is trying to change the accepted meaning of the term in order to further (((their))) agenda.
I believe the target of this psyop is the USA. Radicalizing US citizens against "socialism" by its false definition seems to be in (((their))) interest.
But either way it's a glaring example of widespread, and DEEP Orwellian disinformation TODAY.
So the actual definition of the word "socialism" is known worldwide by many peoples in many languages, and in English by anyone who has received schooling in economics before the millenium.

Thank you for your time.
Yes, I know the extremist Karl Marx got inspiration from Socialist ideas for his totalitarian and extremist doctrines. Do you have a point? Being "inspired by" to "invent a new thing" does not mean the new thing is the same as the thing he was "inspired by".
If you can't understand this, I don't know what to tell you. :-(
Uh? What is that supposed to mean? Are you saying Karl Marx coined the term? I believe this is incorrect and the term was first used during the French revolution of 1789, long before Marx.
Yes! That's the false definition! Even wikipedia in every other language has the right definition. Use google translate and look at the page as it is written in any other language! I looked at the French one and it has the correct one. You will see that they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!

"Socialism" in orwellian newspeak means what you think it means, TOTALITARIAN COMMUNISM where the government takes over means of production. Except that's not actual English. To use the term "socialism" to describe an economic system is wrong. It is a philosophy of governance.
Socialism in the English language means "ANY regulation of capitalism that aims at reducing iniquity". Please note that INIQUITY is not at all the same thing as INEQUALITY.
Iniquity is where inequality is structurally encouraged to grow and be maximized. Iniquity is where, no matter how hard you work, how smart you are, how much education you get, you still don't get a fair shot at "making it" whereas a class of privileged individuals WILL make it no matter how dumb and lazy they might be. Just look at dubya's career as an example.

[–]Horrux 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun - 12 days ago* (0 children)
This should be fixed through actual socialism (not communism which is what a lot of people in the USA believe "socialism" means).
But do you understand that taxes don't pay for anything? They are just a drop in the bucket and a means to keep you and me down. They are a drain on the people, and do not serve any significant funding because as you say, the Fed prints any trillions it feels like, which becomes debt for Joe Average.
No, besides socialist policies, the private central banks must be ended and the money must be created by the nation itself. This is a given. And then public debt voided.
An example of socialist policy would be a law that a corporation MUST firstly increase worker compensation by last year's inflation number BEFORE anything else. And also that its workforce must be proporational to its turnover, so that you don't end up having 20 people doing the work of 100.

Who should pay taxes? Corporations?
I STRONGLY DISAGREE!!!
Because upper management measures their performance in terms of NET profit. As such, you tax those, say, 30% and they'll cut on "creature comforts" for employees by 30%. Their profits are ordained from the top and the bottom are squeezed however hard they have to be squeezed in order to generate the rich's wealth.
Also, if an average joe saves enough to buy shares, those shares are going to have their profits taxed the same as the billionaire's. That would be very anti-egalitarian.
No, tax the rich. No loopholes.

Dude. Are you doing this on purpose? You're NOT UNDERSTANDING WHAT I AM SAYING.
I'm not saying "this is not true socialism". I couldn't care less what is "true" or "untrue" socialism as it is or isn't applied in policy worldwide. At least for the sake of this post.
I am talking about LANGUAGE. ENGLISH. WORDS have MEANING. Which is how we COMMUNICATE.
BRB I'll go chocolate.
If I use the word "chocolate" every time I need to say "poop" are you going to understand me? Nope. You won't.
The "socialism" you think of is NOT WHAT THE WORD MEANS. Somebody's been editing dictionaries to change the meaning. You are part of a small fraction of the world's population that is being preyed on through the changing of language.
I'm not talking about policy, politics, economics, geopolitics here. BUT LANGUAGE.
You are using "chocolate" as meaning "poop" whereas most of us like to eat chocolate but not poop. So if you say "eat chocolate", we say, "yeah, good idea, thanks for your kind wishes." And you go "WTF these people are freaking insane."
Because somebody is destroying the language in your "region" of the 'Net and changing dictionaries, and so on. Don't you see the very orwellian, evil, dangerous scheme that's happening?
You need to learn that chocolate does not come from anuses.
There may well be other instances of words getting edited from the language to seem to mean what they don't mean. This is extremely important! Don't you see?
No, it is not. That is a co-opted definition of socialism in order to radicalize a population. YOU.
YOU believe a definition of socialism that is untrue, that only a very few people in the world believe because of Orwellian LANGUAGE CHANGING shenanigans that have happened recently that you have fallen for.
I fully understand that "roads are not (what you believe is) socialism". The problem is your belief is very wrong, and that belief is dangerous.
I am FAR from a Marxist, or a "socialist" in the definition that you believe that word means, which is TOTALITARIAN COMMUNISM and is VERY FAR REMOVED from what socialism actually is.
AGAIN: (((somebody))) has been playing with the English language and has made SOME PEOPLE (you) believe that the word means something entirely different from what it does! Read the initial post again! Stop raging and start REASONING. With your BRAIN if you have one.
I'm not making this up. At least 95% of the world's population understand the word as meaning what I say it does. At least 95% of the world's population understand that what you believe is "socialism" is in fact TOTALITARIAN COMMUNISM. English. LEARN IT.

It's easy to not bow to anything when you aren't the guy in office. Once you get elected, you learn who is the REAL boss of the USA. And it's definitely not you.

I think he'll go down in History as the President who was in office at the time the US (and global) financial systems collapsed.
But maybe not, it that takes longer to happen than I believe, and if he loses his elections...
In your estimation. I would venture guessing that things look VERY different once you step into the oval office.

Probably people do, but there are so many people on the web nowadays, and so many drooling idiots, so many insane kooks, so much make-believe, etc... And also, so much suppression and censorship, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of things like you mention DO get posted on the web, only to get ridiculed and shut down.
And we never get to hear about them. After all, the likelihood of the individual finding something special being a member of Saidit is fairly low.

Yes, even religion - and I am no big fan of it - has that benefit of curtailing thoughts and impulses as being "forbidden" or "evil". And indeed embracing those leads to insanity.

Very salient fact, this. Thanks.
Interesting tidbit about hydrocarbons: they are matter that contains the ethereal vibes from the era of dinosaurs, from which the "devils" aka "reptilians" evolved species left 3D space millions of years ago but linger around the Earth, guiding it to enslavement and destruction.
We are burning these fossil fuels because in burning them, the vibratory signature of the reptilian age are being released in the astral plane of the Earth, making it more suited to ever-increasing influence from outer-dimensions reptilians.
Their influence is behind the downfall of our current civilisation as well as, most importantly, the gradual extinction of sanity.
I believe all of them. Well, most, really. Why? Because all politicians are utter scum, and power corrupts. So yeah, anything that puts the powerful ahead and us behind is happening. Every single time.
-#4 my take: we went there, but the alien bases made for strange souvenir pictures, so the photographs had to be re-made. They did what they could and missed a few things.

When I did a cold extraction of codeine because I was out of my codeine-containing medicine for my migraines. It was supposed to take out the tylenol and leave me with shitty tasting, but migraine-diminishing codeine.
It worked. But the next morning I woke up feeling really strange. So I thought I was dying from accidental tylenol overdose. I was rushed to the hospital, where they tested my blood, didn't find significant amounts of tylenol, but very significant levels of morphine.
My "feeling weird" was a "morphine high". Needless to say, I am not going to get addicted to that crap any time soon. But yeah it was scary, thinking I was about to die. At least now I know my cold extraction technique is on point.
Sanity is becoming extinct.

Yeah I don't use the whole windows 10 thing, I got a respected website's "turn off Win 10 spying" app to tune it.
It's still shitty as all hell to have to ditch 7. Windows 7 just plain WORKS.

I was very happily running a heavily customized windows 7 build, which I painstakingly migrated to my Ryzen system. And then it stopped working.
So now, cringe, sigh, I run windows 10. I wish I could Linux, but it doesn't look like it's happening.

The Church is guilty of very VISIBLE indoctrination. Not invisible. I mean, the freaking priest tells you basically "do as I say or you will go to hell, believe what I say or you will go to hell" and so on. It's pretty visible.
Nothing's wrong with hermeticism, where did I write that?

You don't get it. You think satanism is a banal thing and that only religious nuts don't see it. YOU have been indoctrinated without knowing it. Invisible indoctrination is much more powerful than the visible one in churches.

Well. Yeah. And all organized religions are sects and cults. So-called "religion" is supposed to be JUST "a way to inner connection with the divine". I think it's safe to say that ALL organized religions have greatly overstepped that definition, with the goal of earthly power.
