Western media run blatant atrocity propaganda for the Ukrainian government. The Ukrainian government is quickly learning that it can say literally anything about what’s happening on the ground there and get it uncritically reported as an actual news story by the mainstream western press. by Chipit in propaganda

Chipit is an astroturf, but your broad characterization is unfair. I post many of Caitlin's articles because they are good, and she is one of the few journalists that has an ideology anything close to mine. I also posted an article about the Uyghurs, not because I am right-wing or want a war with China, but because China has a long history of history human rights abuses of a similar vein, and I have very little difficulty believing they would do something like this. I don't like the CCP, or Putin, or Zelensky, or NATO, or my own US government and regularly post articles about the corruption of any and all of them.

How can something be fed to you externally, especially forcefully, if there is no simulation?

Again, I don't think I follow. It sounds like you have assumptions about the nature of what a non-simulated reality must necessarily be like. Are you suggesting we would not need caloric sustenance for energy and exert some sort of sovereign control that prevents force/coercion in a non-simulated reality? If so, what is it about the nature of non-simulated reality that makes this so? I like the sound of that, but what makes you think that this is the case?

You seem very strong in your convictions about this, I just want to understand what makes you so confident in your beliefs about the nature of reality

I like the idea of hydrogen, but I've heard it's hard to store long term because the size of a hydrogen atom is so small (literally the smallest) that it leaks through containers more readily than any other gas.

You are correct that there are infrastructure issues...Hydrogen also likes to be a gas which takes up a massive volume, and makes it hard to 'pump'. It needs to be stored as a liquid with massive cooling and/or pressurization in terms of creating the infrastructure to completely replace gasoline. I will grant that this is a substantial enough issue that it would take too long to go straight to hydrogen cars from gasoline. Electric is likely something we have to make due with for now, but I don't think it is ideal. Hydrogen adoption at the grid level is probably the best way to begin. Use the excess electricity produced by solar and wind to perform electrolysis, and use the hydrogen for off cycles

Again, I tend to agree with you, I think there is a high probability we do in fact live in a simulation, but I don't think I completely follow what you are saying here.

Whether we are in base reality or not they are all simulations.

Ok, but even if we are in a simulation, this infers the existence of a non-simulated reality somewhere right? Or else there could be no simulation.

Otherwise nothing objective and forced upon us could exist.

So now you are talking about a non-simulated reality, one you say must have certain conditions. So I think I am not understanding what you mean by 'they are all simulations', because this is what I meant by a 'base reality' - one which is not a simulation but that the simulations may exist in (in which case the problem of where this 'real' non-objective reality came from would still be present - it is something and can't have come from nothing).

I am also very curious about this non-objectivity requirement. What is it about 'reality' that means it must have this property? The 'base reality' being completely subjective might be the case, quantum physics shows us some interesting properties about observers and our current reality, but you are very adamant about this, and I don't think I completely understand your rationale here, or how you are getting from A to Z

You are in a simulation controlled by demons.

all atheism denies the truth by claiming, nonsensically, that everything can come from nothing.

Your reasoning does not solve this conundrum, it just adds a level of abstraction.

If we are in a simulation it stands to reason that there must be real non-simulated base reality from which the simulations emerge. In order for this base reality to exist, you have the same chicken and the egg conundrum you do if you assume that our current reality is in fact the base reality.

There really isn't any logical framework that can escape this particular conundrum, but you have taken the same conundrum and added a level of complexity with a simulated layer of reality on top of the old problem. By Occam's razor this seems to be less probable, although there are some reasonable and quite convincing rationales for assuming we do in fact live in a simulation I admit (I object only to this particular rationale on its own being used to justify the theory, not your conclusion)

So called 'socialist' economic policies seem to work much better in Scandinavian countries that aren't subject to wholesale NATO economic sanctions for adopting said policies like every South American country that has ever attempted extricate themselves from the US economic empire by means of socialism

There need to be improvements in the potential to recycle lithium-ion batteries, but perhaps this will develop in due course.

Personally I think hydrogen needs to be the solution for vehicles. Batteries are very inefficient at storing energy compared to electrolysis, and have massive disposal/recyclability issues to boot. The 'Use Case' for batteries needs to be for items where it is infeasible or impractical to attach a power plant to a portable device. Think your iphone, your airpods, your laptop computer. We are quite used to including power plants in cars, and this does not require the unsustainable mining of lithium and other rare earth metals.

I don't think they will be successful with this. The momentum is all towards states being able to do whatever they want. This is considered a republican thing, but in reality it is the DNC embrace of states rights that has moved the ball on this. The blue states have been blatantly defying federal law on immigration (sanctuary cities) and also on marijuana laws (which I am grateful for).

The Dems only have themselves to blame for individual states being able to do things dems dont like such as having lax gun laws or outlawing abortion, as they have been drinking heavily from the trough of state autonomy
