Now Iran responds in this pathetic way...

I'm thinking this was done on purpose. In fact we knew this was coming in retaliation for IDF killing some of Iran's generals who were in Syria. There were news articles waring about this on Friday. (The day before this attack)

To me, the way Iran's leaders think, is they had to make some response to save face with their supporters/population and they knew this would be a nothing burger that would cause little to no damage. They don't want a direct conflict because they know they will get their asses kicked. They even implied this at the UN saying something along the lines that "They now see this situation as concluded." meaning they don't wat this to escalate.

Anyway the fact that they were not able to shoot down 100% of the attack is a problem for Israel. If Iran starts shooting everything they got at them then more will get though and it will cause major damage. Iran's weapons have targets and are not dumb fired rockets. If they get though it's major problems for Israel.

I think younger girls in particular (18+) are so driven and brainwashed into an extravagant level of life style that they are willing to do pretty much anything to get it.

Only fans provides a quick and easy way to get there. Well, at least that's how it looks but the truth is 99.9% are not going to make the six figures.

Had a kid on my road (19yo) going 170kph (~100Mph) around 2am on his bike. It's a rural road and the speed limit is 60kph.

A cow had escaped and was on the road. Looked like he swerved left then countered right to regain balance and as he passed the cow his head hit the cows head. Both died. I felt bad for the cow...

Chemo will still be the biggest. So many times it's given to people who have 3-6 months left to live and the are told that it might extend their lives a few months. A lot of people take it but the time they have lest is utter misery. I've always been of the mind set of quality over quantity.

I just had a second cousin who's husband was told he had a very aggressive form of cancer back in early December. He was told 3 months without treatment and maybe the summer if he takes chemo. He told them to stick it. He pasted away two weeks ago with really only the last few days any major issues and of those days the very last two he was unconscious. He was even cracking jokes right up until the end. I think he made the right choice.

This is the part I don't get. If someone posts an inappropriate image of an underage child how is it not removed? How is the account and IP address not give to law enforcement? Exactly, I was using Linux some 10 years ago, got away from it and have now gone back with Mint. There have been minimal improvements in the easy of use. They have the basics down but anything even slightly custom and your in for a world of hurt if you don't know what your doing.

There are still some major misses too like not having default support for Realtek Audio chips. Realtek is one of the most used onboard audio chips out there. I don't get why this was overlooked.

The average OF income for a women is around $200 - $500/month and that's showing and doing it all.

The only thing I can see to support this is reducing shoplifting. We had a local discount store here and they tried banning kids due to their proxy to a Jr. high school.

That's what I came here to say. Here in Commy Canada our biggest media conglomerate Bell Media just sold off 45 radio stations. They see the way the wind is blowing.

The only time I ever here radio is if I forget my phone and get into my car.

Even most stores won't play that crap. At our local mall I asked why ( I was curious about what they were playing and the conversation led to bad mouthing radio.) and I was told they don't want customers hearing ads for the competition. The store owner flat out said the only ones who could afford ads were Walmart, Canadian Tire and the likes (Big box stores) and they were on the radio non stop. So instead he subscribed to a commercial free music service for small businesses. In short he was willing to pay so not to have to hear radio.

Just looked it up, my primary school was 1.8km (~1 mile) 24 minute walk. Did that from grade 3-5 so 8 -10 years old. Jr High (grade 6 - 9) was 2.3km at around 35 min walk.

The word retarded was once used as a medical term as well. They used to say people were slow or stupid and thus retarded was the medical term used out of compassion. Once that got commandeered we switched to "mental disorder" which too is now been commandeered due to association. I think is might be inevitable.

Here in Canada we also don't use welfare any more. We say "social assistance" but it's still used in the same condemning way. I've literally heard people say "ugh... He's a social assistance bum". (Instead of welfare bum)

Some of the auto mod take downs I still can't figure out what was wrong with the posts. Might have been edgy but I have seen worse on reddit.

Some of the mod take downs were nothing more then total abuse of power. One example, I agreed with someone who told a story about what life was like during the cold war under communism and my comment was manually deleted by a mod! 100% clean comment. No swearing or anything. Plenty of comments shiting on the guy's story that the mod left alone. Looking back I think they were trying to sway the comment section big time.

It's socially alienating! They said it about the iPhone, about the Walkman … hell, half a millennium ago they said it about the book. New technologies arrive, and we adapt.

I disagree with this statement. I lived though the early days of the walkman. First, only a faily small group of people used them, About 10-20%. Boom boxes were far more popular. A walkman was for getting from point a to b or during exercise.

The fear of the walkman technology was being hit by a bus or getting robbed. Basically a fear of people not paying attention and unlike the smartphone, you stopped using your walkman in a social situation.

Noone ever talked about the walkman completely upending society. The smartphone and (now AR) have completely changed the mindset and perceptions of now multiple generations.

I do not believe that changes and benefits of this technology have been a net improvement for us as a society.

Bingo. It's step by step. You won't wake up one day and find your freedom is gone and now your a slave. It rarely happens overnight, it's slowly over the years, until one day there is no avenue to resist. You obey or it's off to jail.

I wonder if management of these companies are subject to this technology? Are their meetings being monitored too? Making sure they are doing what's best for the corporation and not their bonus? Making sure they don't fire or discipline an employee unfairly? That they are not trash talking a subordinate who is underperforming? My bet is no, it's the people with the shitty jobs that have to put up with this.
