Are we really supposed to believe 370,000+ Russians have fleed the country in fear of military enlistment? Since Sept 21 lol? by Herpa_Derpa_Island in WorldNews

The rest is just "count every single person who leaves for any reason as a draft dodger, don't count people who return to Russia" -- or even just "make up a number out of thin air and attribute it to anonymous sources".

they're using COVID counting techniques.

Another take on 97% of trans people being happy with surgery. by jacques1102 in TumblrInAction

yeah, I joke, but I know that it really is a thing. It's been a thing in LGBT circles in general for as long as I can even remember.

any asshole can figure out instantly whether reassignment surgery actually solves a transgender person's problems or not. Just ask yourself the simple question: does the world actually look at them like they're the opposite sex after they finish getting the surgery? Because there's your answer and it's not even complicated.

or are they saying they're happy because if they don't the other option is crippling regret?

they're saying they're happy because the other option is transphobia. Duh

97% of trans people are happy once they get surgery. The 3% only regret it due to social pressure. by jacques1102 in TumblrInAction

claiming that it's just social pressure and the results are invalid results is a classic hallmark of the intellectually dishonest. It's an unfalsifiable claim that will always be unfalsifiable because the perception that trans people are an aberration can never be eradicated. It's also something that, even in a best case scenario, can never be known even by the most fervent of the people who believe it. What this means is the claim is intrinsically inseparable from preferential interpretation, and so refuting the claim will always have justification equal to that of making the claim if not better.

What are some humane ways to euthanize a pet at home without a gun? by Herpa_Derpa_Island in AskSaidIt

I wouldn't want my pet's last experience be that of me choking them or anything they would feel.

it would take significantly less pressure to compress the arteries than to compress the airway, so it's not really accurate to equate it to a strangling. Granted, I've never actually done it before, but in my mind it seems like it would require so little force that there would be little difference from just embracing your pet around his neck until it was over.

I've looked it up since then and apparently it once saw pretty widespread use in animal shelters.

I'm aware of these things. Personally, I worked at a nursing home for two years all throughout COVID -- after seeing uncountable numbers of residents in their 80s and 90s laughing off their COVID infections, literally mocking us for following protocols despite practically all of them having preexisting conditions that were rather severe, my model has little choice but to assume a psychogenic / voodoo element as the most likely explanation for the atypical severity and deaths among the young and healthy. Not to mention, of course, that I actually watched the motherfuckers casting the spell

anyone else here banned randomly by hundreds of subs for posting in NoNewNormal, only to ultimately get Reddit banned for subreddit ban evasion after losing track of the impossible number of subs that banned you in the first place? That's my story. I've been lurking on Saidit for years, I'm an old C_S_T poster, but it's only my fairly recent COVID wrongthink that got me kicked from Reddit for good.

I think it's pretty standard behavior that a coronavirus will mutate at the rate COVID has mutated. I don't think it's unlikely by any means that COVID came from a lab -- in fact I expect that as part of our regular psyop regimen, we are meant to suspect and flip shit about the possibility it came from a lab -- but I don't think the adaptive behavior of the virus in itself really correlates to the likelihood that it did come from a lab.

of course if the virus was specifically mutating into apocalyptic strains that were terrifying and justified everyone flipping the fuck out, that would probably point to the likelihood the virus came from a lab, since coronaviruses generally don't do that. However in my view this is largely a concoction of the media and the strains themselves have never been especially worrisome to begin with.
