Simply put; not only is it the first time that a mass shooting has been streamed in First person, but it's also happened in a country not known for these types of attacks. We used to have vids with the same perspective from Daesh footage on occasion in WPD back in the day, but no-one really cared as it was over there, not over here; Not happening in developed country.

Though the censorship involved was done under the guise of not celebrating what Tarrant did - don't give him any attention, essentially - the reach that police have with this is concerning. However a site is only as strong as it's users, and so far I've seen exactly one user like you described since I signed up. Don't vote on em, report if it breaks rules, move on. Tis only the internet mate ;)

G'day, late to the party here - pity I didn't know of it sooner to be honest. Been having a squizz right through and I'm a fan so far.

Just wanted to ask (after I viewed your ToS of course) would the old Eddit WPD community be welcome here? Thought best to check first, plus I gotta wait two weeks to create the sub anyway.

/u/Diplomat created a similar sub, however we plan to bring over basically everyone that is interested to a WPD sub. Even with, say, 1 percent following through that's 5k+ at least. The discord (user run, not by us ex mods) blew out over one thousand overnight, so the timing would be right for it.

PS; props given for no porn on the site, unexpected but oddly welcome addition to the ToS I reckon.

Years upon years ago, was at a friend's place smoking weed (first time for me, not for them) when her dad knocked on the door, told her the package she wanted had come. It was a Beatmania game and attachment for the PS1, and we thought it was so cool...

Loaded it up and checked through the tracks. Since I'd played piano from an early age, I got first crack. It was this song, and it opened up my love for peripheral games like guitar hero, DJ hero, Rock Band and such. The name stuck as me Gamertag for years, and I still crack it out on occasion, such as now.

Skyrim, heavily modded; Farting Shouts at Macho Man Randy Dragons never gets old.

Oxygen Not Included: base building and resource management. What appears to be a cutesy and simple resource/survival game that turns into a horrible faceplant into thermodynamics, pressure modulation and oh so many deaths. Can't recommend enough. Same folk who made Don't Starve.

Sunless Seas: Fan of action? Er, this ain't your game. Heavily atmospheric and brilliant written game about slowly going mad and maybe eating your crew.

City of Brass; First person Rogue-lite with an Aladdin feel. Bloody hectic.

Darkest Dungeon: IMO the absolute best 2D sidescrolling Dungeon crawler RPG with RL elements, amazing soundscape and narration, heavily RNG based though. Must buy for anyone even remotely interested in what I just wrote, and a sequel is in the works too! Can't wait.

Crawl: 1-4 player 3v1 RL with a unique mechanic I don't wanna spoil. Watch the trailer even if it's just for the amazing voice acting in it. Literally what compelled me to buy it.

Laser League; Lesser known futuristic sports Sim, didn't really take off unfortunately. 2nd only to Crawl for Couch Co-op with a few beers.

We have, however, been working on building models that quickly surface comments reported for abuse and have a high probability of being policy-violating.

So a keyword trawl bot...

This has allowed our admins to action abusive content much more quickly and lessen the load for mods.

The mistake made was full perms straight off the bat. Always restricted or zero perms for the first week to orientate folk with no Mod XP, then Modmail perms to respond to issues with users and so on and so forth.

Folk usually go to Movie review sites, channels in YouTube and such. For me, I go to www.TasteDive.com. put your movie in, folks give a yay or nay and also recommend similar movies through choice, not an algorithm. The sites been instrumental in me finding new horror movies similar to my tastes, also works for music too, and various other things.

From what I've seen, I tend to agree as well.

Bout 4 odd year ago when Eddit really started swinging the banhammer, folk looked for an alternative. I was one of em, won't lie - abhor censorship meself. That's why we went over to explore Voat more fully, started the sub and transferring of content and such. Further we went looking though, the worse we realised the crowd was; it was /b/ and /pol/ combined with an unhealthy mix of Alt Right. Think we hung about for 3 months or so? Decided to stick with what we know and went back to Eddit.

When WPD and Gore got banned this week, Tej n I went back to Voat with the intention of a landing spot for the 500k odd users that suddenly had no sub. Bloody hell, it was basically a caricature of what people think 4Chan is. Almost like they are just to out edgelord each other. Me, I've been around the Chan's for quite since roughly the Habbo raid, so didn't bother me that much.

Then I realised it would bother our old users, most definitely.

So, after 12 minutes of Mod activity there totalling one post and 3 comments, we got nuked from all our modspots after the Voat WPD started Reeeeing. Out the window with that then, haha. Had a look around again at the places I used to be subbed to and... Yeh. It might have pulled the crowd, but definitely kept em, and is basically akin to their own echo chamber that most folk complain about with Left leaning crowd. Nuked me account, came here.

As for here, I like it immensely so far. Feels very 2010 Reddit.

Same. I'm in Melbourne Australia, and we have an extensive Public Transport network ranging from Trams (Trolley cars I think you Seppos call em?) Busses and Trains. They are still building on em too, still can get from one side of the sprawl to the other with relative ease.

I was Senior Mod and the bloke that built WPD from 15k to over 500k pre Nuke. That Admin callout post from when Vice wrote an article that garnered sitewide support was me :)

I still have me alt there - basically to spruik here to select folk - but will cut ties when that's not needed.

There is an /s/Anime here I believe, and I've just started on rebuilding the community - at least til Deadit.com is up and running, then more focus will be on that so we got a forever home :)

WPD co-creator here; while we got sweet FA from Admins - as is tradition - when the banhammer was swinging, I daresay it was due to the press picking up the fact we didn't remove said video. Coupla journo's on Twitter were losing their shit about it (latching on to MrPs sticky comment initially) it gained traction, then Admins scraped the video.

Naturally, our users started sharing the link in PMs instead, so the thread was locked. Didn't stop em, so Admins nuked us, r/Gore, et al. Even the Discussion sub which specifically disallows links of any kind that weren't to Reddit.com itself.

So, that's it in a nutshell and now I'm here haha
