I think the 2012-2016 stretch was incremental though. 2013 saw BLM truly begin in response to Zimmerman being acquitted, 2014 began the riot process in Ferguson, 2015 continued it and was where Confederate iconography response went from "silly rednecks" to "evil racists"

I have heard people claim the vast majority of WW2 vets "don't regret fighting one bit", but I can't substantiate if it might be mostly for older reasons (freedom, democracy, defeating Hitler) or if it was because of the victory paving the way for these societal changes. I'm not sure of that. On mainstream platforms GCs are often equated to fascists for whatever comorbidities their discourse brings (with race, the JQ, just LGB). See Twitter pages like "GC Antisemitism" or "GC Biphobia".

I see the "half-white people are never counted as white" thing most often, but it only really makes a difference if the majority of non-white population growth comes from interracial relations. Or that even if it goes below 50%, white people may still have institutional power or it's still not quite low.

When I saw California's graph on Twitter, many were pointing out how it failed to show that there were more white people today in absolute numbers, especially nationwide. But the chart still showed white population growth leveling off (going sub-zero in recent years) and the absolute number showing a slight decline. I don't 100% know about this "more white people today" thing, or when the post-1965 reforms would have truly seen growth in non-white populations.

I stand corrected, I was merely speaking on the amount of news stories related to BLM popping up, not my own opinion on the movement. From 2016 to 2020 all I recall was Botham Jean and the anthem kneeling/Kaepernick, but 2020+ has had much more saturation in racial stories. Chauvin/McMichaels trials, renaming of institutions keeps on going, and several more episodes like Ralph's, and whoever follows the movement operates with more discussion on "systemic racism" et al., these are things literally everybody is witnessing.

I don't know how citing science, statistics, history etc. would push the poster over the edge vs. simple statements that this is brainwashing, when they're already being ostracized for speaking against it. From what I've looked into ton this argument, I say there was some discrimination but I don't know if these groups were ever widely cast out of whiteness politically. The examples of, say Irish and Italians being placed in a non-white group were usually at the behest of several small companies.
