Which is it, trans folx? We're told trans people have abnormally high rates of suicide and require constant affirmation to keep from killing themselves. We're told they experience 'deadnaming' and 'misgendering' as 'literal violence'.

Does this sound like a demographic that is 'fit to serve'? What happens if they get captured by enemy forces and misgendered?

Everything about trans ideology is hypocritical. Deadnaming and misgendering are literal hate crimes, but anyone who objects to terms like 'cis' and 'terf' are fucktards. TRAs are entitled to define the rules of acceptable speech, and all the mods on Reddit's supposedly women-focused subs are affirming this.

Transphobes baffled, enraged by Elliot Page’s coming out as trans by questioningtw in GenderCritical

[–]Femaleisnthateful 35 insightful - 2 fun35 insightful - 1 fun36 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Of course it's baffling; largely because it's still completely unclear what her transition means. We haven't seen her, so we don't know if she's getting top surgery or just cutting her hair off, or what.

It was also a mistake to infer that she was transitioning to male because she's adopted male pronouns. On closer reading, she never identifies as specific gender. 'Trans' is apparently a gender identity in itself now. In reality, she appears to be transitioning to 'anything-but-a-lesbian-woman'.

It's 'baffling' because the Newspeak of the new gender culture requires us to deny our own memories, our own lived experience, by pretending that a woman named 'Ellen Page' never existed, never publicly came out as a proud lesbian. We're required to believe that a man portrayed all those female characters - so convincingly that he was indistinguishable from a woman.

And when and if 'Elliot Page' does detransition, what then becomes of Elliot? Did he ever exist?

[–]Femaleisnthateful 34 insightful - 2 fun34 insightful - 1 fun35 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The divorce isn't shocking to me, but I'm very curious (and concerned) about what's going on in the-person-formerly-known-as-Ellen-Page's head. She seems to be outsourcing her identity to various people and lobby groups, and seems to have a very weak sense of self.

It's amusing - and peaking - to see news media refer to her with male pronouns whilst all their pictures and videos clearly show a female.

Also, I believe the People article is factually incorrect. Page never came out explicitly as a 'man' - only as 'trans'. Page is using anything-but-a-woman identifiers but has never claimed a particular gender identity.

I really wonder what life is going to be like for Jazz and other 'trans kids' in 5-10 years time, especially once the spotlight is gone.

Unlike adults, someone like Jazz really cannot 'detransition'. They never were allowed to experience male puberty, they have no male body to return to. They have no idea what it is like to experience life as a male, and it's been made clear to them from a young age that they would not be accepted as such.

I sadly forsee a lot of suicides of 'trans kids' in adulthood, much like David Reimer.

The thing that makes me especially LOL about this is that one of the tenets of gender identity ideology is that everyone has an inherent sense of their own innate, immutable 'gender'. This is why three and four year olds can know that they're really a person of the opposite gender (though there are 72 genders, and I've never heard of a three year old 'coming out' as genderqueer non-binary, so maybe it's an imperfect system).

Since we all 'know' our gender identity from practically birth, what is the need for workshops to explain to us what gender identity is and figure out our own?

So this is the CBC again, of course. Seriously, the comments hurt my brain, especially the ones assuming these are all conservative Christians. What part of 'LGB' do they not understand?

This comment made me genuinely sad:

his is spot on. My mom is a pretty liberal white woman raised on second wave feminism and she definitely flirts with TERF-iness. My sister and I call her out on it, but her brand of feminism is so hard baked into her sense of self that she kind of struggles the see how problematic some of it is. Your second paragraph really hits the nail on the head. They had to fight for autonomy and the ability to create male-free spaces and their conception of womandom is tightly tied to biological stuff (think pussy hats, etc) so they cannot view trans women as women. Honestly, I know a bunch of older lesbians that are on this train as well. It's pretty sad

Imagine being this girl's (?) mother and being policed by your own daughters in defense of men's rights activism. This person recognizes that women had to fight for 'male-free spaces' and seems to endorse that, but can't understand why words need to mean things or why biology matters.

My friends' niece was sucked into transgenderism by her social worker. She was 11, was autistic and had had a lot of personal struggles, including moving house recently. She told her social worker she often felt like she couldn't be her true self in social situations, that she had to 'wear a mask' (not literally). Boom, social worker tells her she's non-binary. Tells her parents she has lots of clients going through the same thing; that they must affirm her wholeheartedly blah blah. Kid is given a binder, her mental health nosedives. Eventually she desists.

I think these social workers have shit jobs. Many have limited training. They crave the validation of believing that they're helping these indigo children discover their true magical selves. That they're saving lives. Nice antidote to the drudgery and shitty reality of their real life.

Now of course they're completely invested in protecting themselves from scrutiny and the accusations that they're actually harming kids.

If you agree with what JK Rowling literally says, why attack her as a 'TERF' unless you just hate women?

If this guy is attracted to 'masculinity', is he also attracted to masculine women who identify as women? Or does his attraction have something to do with the signifiers of sex?

So, backstory: this article's author, Peter Knegt, does a weekly series called 'Queeries', for which replies are curiously turned off. I read the CBC frequently and I've noticed a pattern - it's 80% trans and drag queens.

This is the second article he's done excoriating 'privileged' gays and gay culture. The other one is here. Apparently adding 'white' in front of 'gay culture' makes the criticisms sound not-homophobic.

Anyway, I've come seeking your thoughts. I'm planning to write to CBC and request that they replace this author with someone who more respectfully represents the LGB community.

When did things change? TwoXChromosomes used to be a place where women described sex-based experiences and challenges. There were always so many threads detailing the descrimination and harrassment they faced for having a female body, and it was clear that for most of them, their reasons for posting were tied to their experiences of being of the female sex.

That's why I found it so weird that no one pushed back against transwomen using women's health issues to validate themselves or otherwise fetishizing female-ness. When did a forum for women start promoting crass stereotypes of womanhood? Seems like, based on the description, the forum is intended to alienate gender non-conforming women ie butch lesbians, non-binary and transmen.

Isn't it funny how MtFs aren't expected to undergo any medical transition at all, and we're not allowed to 'police' their trans identities by expecting them to actually.... look like women. But FtMs are expected to get the double mastectomy, take steroids, get ab implants (see Elliot Page's recent look).

If the author of that piece had any integrity, she's acknowledge the women who have been censored and even lost jobs for saying things as mundane as 'women have ovaries'. Or, acknowledge the thousands of rape and death threats directed at JK Rowling for merely acknowledging the reality of biological sex and same-sex attraction.

Sara Ramirez is a tomboy.

Also, someone explain the multiple neo-pronouns to me. Is it an either/or thing? Does she/they get to change what pronouns people call her/them on an arbitrary basis? "You misgendered me! I'm they/them today!"?

This term is used to describe someone whose gender identity or expression does not conform to what is expected based on the sex they were assigned at birth.

Whelp. TIL I am transgender.

Gender non-conforming – this term is used to refer to someone who does not conform to prevailing cultural and social expectations about what is appropriate gender expression for their perceived gender.

Wait... maybe I'm this?

Non-binary refers to people whose gender identity falls outside of the gender binary

So... what's the difference between this and the other stuff?

Genderqueer refers to people who have a non-normative or queer gender. Genderqueer is often used to refer to people who reject labels and conformity to specific gender norms.

What even is this? Genderqueer is the label for people who reject labels? Is this different from trans?

SRS is used by some medical professionals to refer to a group of surgical operations that alter a person’s biological sex.

Whoa. Are we affirming the reality of biological sex? This is dangerous.

Why do all the sexuality labels refer to 'emotional attraction'? What does 'emotional attraction' have to do with sexuality?

I'm fully convinced at this point that if there's not a pedophile ring being operated by Reddit, Reddit is fully in service to pedophiles. That statement is so disingenuous - it makes it sound like Aimee was targeted because her father was a pedo (poor innocent Aimee!) and references 'rumours' about Aimee's affiliates as though they're not fully proven and public knowledge. It situates Reddit as a victim. It also seems to infer that Reddit will continue to censor discussions about Challenor, because it's 'time to move on'.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 23 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 0 fun24 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I feel this.

I've noticed senior managers at my work doing this as well, and I recall a blog post from a gay male manager with a particular interest in sexuality and gender identity issues (seriously, he brings it up constantly) encouraging staff to put their pronouns in their bio. I keep my gender critical beliefs quiet at work, but this will be my line in the sand, and I have been thinking a lot about how to formulate a response if I am ever confronted with the issue.

I think a good strategy with both your work and your woke friends is to simply state that your sexuality and gender identity is nobody's business but your own. Feel free to conflate the two, because they obviously do. Tell them their persistence makes you feel harassed.

I think there's a valid argument to be made that women are subject to gender-based (however you want to define 'gender') discrimination in the workplace, and forcing women to publicize their 'gender identity' (again, that means different things to different people) opens us unnecessarily to bias and discrimination. I shouldn't be compelled to publicly identify my race, religion or sexuality, so why should I be compelled to disclose my gender identity?

Honestly, I hope someone files a lawsuit over this at some point.

The argument about 'normalising it for trans people' has never held water for me. If we want to normalise something, we should be less obsessive over it, not more.

Here's my analogy: body positivity. We want everyone to feel comfortable in their own bodies, right? There are a range of body types and weights and we want to be inclusive of all diverse types of bodies, right? So let's all go around and state how much we each weigh. This will normalize marginalized bodies, right? Maybe we can have discussions about which body types are privileged or given status over others. So what will be the outcome after we all identify how much we weigh, in every single interaction even when weight is completely irrelevent to the topic of conversation. Will we all revel in our diversity and inclusivity, or will we all have fucking eating disorders?

Anyway, good luck to you. Let us know how it pans out.

It's time to acknowledge that intersectionality and critical theories are bad for women. Critical race theory has been trying to blame white women for male violence for some time. In Ottawa, there was an incident a while back in which a mentally ill black man was arrested after sexually assaulting women in a coffee shop. He died during the violent arrest. The coffee shop took all kinds of shit for calling the police, as though they were wrong for calling and it was their fault he died. Women are now expected to be mindful of their assailant's wellbeing when they are assaulted, much the way we're being expected to defer our expectations of safety, privacy and equal participation in society in favour of males' emotional 'needs'.

Stonewall's foul-ups are becoming too big to ignore. Now that the courts are calling out Stonewall's actions with tangible evidence, TRAs can no longer claim that criticism of Stonewall is ideologically based, or 'bigotry'. Between this, and the Kiera Bell case, gender ideology and radical transactivism is being dragged into the sunlight, and the mainstream public aren't going to like it.

I'm hoping we're reaching a tipping point.
