They're the same as furries. If they want to dress up as something they're not then that's their business, but keep it away from kids, don't force other people to pretend that you're anything but what you were born as, if someone says they aren't into it leave them alone, and you don't get any special privileges for feeling special.

Surgery is just doctors profiting off the mentally ill. It would be like a tattoo artist saying "yes I'll tattoo tiger stripes on every inch of your body" to an 18 year old who legitimately believes they're a tiger. Once you permanently alter your body there's no healing from your delusions.
